I don't.

As an MT, continuing education is optional. We are not required to be certified and more and more MTs are opting not to be. Yeah, we may have to occasionally learn about a new drug or stay up to date on the current treatments, but I don't find that to be a big deal. I don't spend time out of my normal work day doing continuing education as other professionals do.

I also don't know many doctors, nurses, teachers, or other professionals who only go to school for 6-9 months for their jobs. Most have spent years in school for their career.

I also don't think experience matters anymore. A lot of companies don't care about experience, just who will transcribe the report the cheapest. If they cared about experience, the pay rates would reflect that, but they don't. Experienced MTs are often paid the same rates as new MTs at a lot of companies. You see it all the time on this board with experienced MTs complaining they were only offered 6 or 7 cpl, less than I made as a new MT.
