I live in Michigan and they were going to pass that s/m

but it got vetoed.  They didn't call it a sales tax so much as a service tax.  You should check with the state that you live in, try your official state web site for info.

what part of Michigan do you live in? sm
I know its nearly impossible to find any kind of job in Michigan. I am originally from there and my family still lives there. you are in my thoughts and prayers!
What part of Michigan do you live in?
Detroit area (Detroit northern suburbs).
I think it is....I don't live in NY, just wanted to pass along what I found. nm

I don't know where you live but where I live foreclosures are rising and there are no jobs -- non
I worried about my employer for part of the winter as my accounts grew sparse. I had plan to switch to being an employee with benefits but dared not make the switch in this economy (this was last year this time, got it?)
I figured keeping my seniority was worth whatever security it afforded.

My accounts have rebounded some and I can pay my bills.

By economizing seriously, I have paid off my credit card and put some money aside, just in case. I'm breathing easier, thanks.

So, all in all, I'm not complaining. This last winter was brutal, but I had a job and I paid my bills. When employment rebounds and/or national health goes into effect, people will go to the doctor again and we will be busy.

My part of the world is like a ghost town -- everyone who could left to find work in the city -- many apparently leaving their homes to the banks. Several houses in my vicinity have been on the market more than 4 years.

Forgive me my loyalty ... it pays the bills.

What does yelling at the rest of us do for you?
It depends on where you live. If you live in their
service area it would be cheaper than outside their service area.   I only have rates for out of service area and medical is  139.13 for family or 168.42 depending on what plan you choose.  Dental is 20.85 for family, vision is 5.13.  These are per pay period.

Individual coverage would be 44.79/54.21 medical, 7.99 dental, and 1.71 vision.

I opted out of insurance as we have through my husband's job.  I believe  the cheaper insurance is a 70/30 plan and the more expensive an 80/20, not sure about co-pays.  Deductibles are $2000 for family, not sure about individual.
to Michigan MT
They offered me an amount and that was what they said they paid no matter what account you are on. I don't know how they work out their pay either but it sure isn't fair to the folks who have been there longer and have more than 10 years experience.
Michigan. .
SO SORRY!! I have several relatives in Michigan who have all lost jobs or drastically reduced: A mechanical engineer, home builder/grape farmer(s) and one at Pfizer who is just waiting for layoffs . .they are making wonderful pet meds now at Pfizer in Kazoo, MI
where in Michigan?
I work in Petoskey and live in Cheboygan.
Is that in MIchigan?

If it's based out of Michigan then it's the company that actually runs the on line program I took, as well as being a transcription service.  The online program was pretty good - it got me working right away.  It was learntranscription.com

The people that I dealt with were nice and they always looked at their own graduates to hire, so they were willing to put their money where their mouth is, so to speak.

Another in Michigan

Dictation By Phone, were in Berkley, Michigan.  No pay, pays late, or checks bounce if they do pay.

In Michigan it's Michigan.gov
and Click on employment.  I would look at your state's offical web site and see what you can find.  You can also call or visit your local state unemployment office. That's who handles the program in Michigan.  They do the testing and help you apply for the funding, etc.
Anyone know anything about Superscript out of Michigan?

rxtranscription from Michigan

Anyone know anything about rxtranscription, LLC, from Michigan?   Looking to test with them later this week.

Midwest where? Not Michigan, I can tell you that.

new Michigan MTSO ... and I'm just going to have to be moving on ASAP.  This particular accent is just about as bad, if not worse, than Eastern European for me.  And this is just way too high a percentage for me to deal with.

Danged if I know where you can go to find fewer, but I'm going to be asking about that pointblank from now on, however negatively doing so will impact my job opportunities.  I mean more than 25-30% ESLs is just beyond ridiculous, IMO. More power to those of you who can and will do more than that.  I'm sure you deserve a lot more than whatever you're being paid.

Supercript out of Michigan
Does anyone currently work for Supercript out of Michigan or have worked for them before?  I have been offered a position with them and need to make a decision.  Are they good to work for, pay on time, etc.  Anyone with any information would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
You have to be in Michigan for starters. sm
Preferably the west side of the state as you have one day of training at their home office in Cadillac. They provide everything you need including the computer. They use Vianeta and their tech support people are great. They give you a mentor to start with and expect you to be off corrections within a week or two. And they always answer emails and/or phone calls.
Hope this helps.
DataScript in Michigan

Anyone working for them now or anyone that has worked for them in the past, I'm considering working for them, but would like some info first - anything - the good, bad and the ugly.  Thanks so much!

Any current information on Moretti in Michigan?
Does anybody work there that can share some information on platform, IC or employee status and how you are treated there? You can also e-mail me with any information. I really appreciate it. Thank you!
Actually, I did pass it.
And if you read my entire post, I mentioned the need for continuing ed credits, which I would only need if I PASSED THE TEST.

At a certain point, either you know this job or you don't.  So someone with TONS (20+ years) of experience does not necessarily do a better job than someone with 6 years' worth.
Pass

The software doesnt keep accurate track of your time or lines.  I even kept a log, didnt matter.  I accrued time off that I was not given or paid for when I left.   You can check the archives for many of the same types of issues and stories.

Take a pass.

One of the lowest paying around for employee, not much better for IC.  Not reliable for steady work either.

Oh, I can pass it, all right....
I just seem to always be missing a little pocket change to take it.

Oh, really now, I'll be honest. It's never been the highest priority to me because (a) my employer doesn't care, has never cared, and won't give me more money for having one, (b) When I have that much money at any one time, it usually goes to buy back to school clothes or an appliance breaks down and has to be replaced.

I personally know quite a few CMTs and admire them for their dedication to keeping it current. I have always thought it rather telling, though, that most of the AAMT members and CMTs of my acquaintance are childless.

The fact of the matter is, many MTs are mothers. And mothers usually put themselves last. Right or wrong, that's a fact.
I think I will pass on this one myself. nm
xxx
I am trying not to pass out as well, but (sm)
I believe she was right when she said this is across the board, no matter where you work.  The health care crisis in this country is just that - a crisis.  I will stay here and pay the increased premium as from talking to people who work in different occupations as well as MT, they are all complaining about increases.
LOL - Maybe you should pass his
a leg to stand on for ICs to collect unemployment.  They'd be beating down his door.
This too will pass and you will have
your board back.
Anyone work or worked for Administrative Assistants LLC out of Michigan?

Is Caretech a company located in Michigan by any chance. nm

I think I'll pass.....

I'd Pass On Transolutions...
if I were you. I believe they base your pay rate per line on how well your score on the test you take when you go to their site. Whatever level you fall into based upon your test scores is what you will get paid. Say you got a low to average score on your test, you would probably fall into pay level I and get paid 5 or 6 cents a line or something like that, and $10 an hour for 1-2 months of training. They're basically just like every other company out there offering transcriptionists the oppportunity to work at home crappy pay, not the best dictators, and of course, if you run out of work, you never get paid for downtime. You are also REQUIRED to work two holidays and weekends.
I will pass that along to the Administrator. Thank you. (NM)
Goldbird
Pass on the job. I am thinking it is a co I used
to work for and they never paid on time even with that long wait and did not get it right either. No excuse for a wait like that except for mismanagement by the company. Pass on that job. You will have headaches you don't need.
How did MT pass QA in the first place?
nm
Sad Rad MT...I was going to pass along this same message to you...Lee said that
everyone would be called about any issues they e-mailed her about!  Good Luck!
I'll pass on them then.
