I love working for Shapin!!!!

Well, i have been with Shapin for 2 1/2 months and absolutely love it.  I have never seen so much communication.  If you think that is a bad thing, you need to work for a company with no communication.  There is always work, in fact I am never caught up anymore, since I recently started QAing as well as transcribing.  Maybe I got your job, Thanks for doing such a sucky job, so I got the promotion.  Just out of curiosity, where do you work now and what are you getting paid?

I work for Shapin as lead QA and absolutely LOVE my job..sm
The owner is the most fair employer Ii have ever had!! She is kind to personal situations. She will help you out any way she can. I make really, really good money working for her. She is looking for more editors, as the company is growing a great deal. If you want more info, please feel free to contact me at MaryC_RI285@msn.com.
I LOVE WORKING FOR MQ TOO!

I love working for them
I have been with them for over a year now, an MT for 6 years. They are very family oriented. I work on 2 accounts with very little ESL. I didn't have any trouble when I was hired with them. So far, they pay me more than any other company I have been offered a job for. I know they have good programs for new MTs just coming in. I hope this helps. If there are any other questions you would like me to answer, just let me know
I love working there, too`

I love working for them.

I've been with them for about a year.  We have just switched over to a new system that is probably the best I've ever worked on.  There really isn't much training to do.  They have step-by-step instructions of how to work the program and supervisor will probably call to make sure you have everything ready and will be available to answer your questions.  Then you are assigned work.  They will give you as much or as little as you want.  I find most of the time that I have too much.  No ESLs.  Pay isn't tremendous, but the work is very easy and without ESLs production is good.  They pay by direct deposit every week without fail.  I highly recommend!!!!  Good luck!

man, that's like working for love!!??

I really love working for MDI
I have a friend (a single mom) who swears by Landmark. She says she has the flexibility she needs and the people are all really nice.
I love working for them.. have been with them for YEARS. xx

Love working at Axolotl!!!
I only have a sec, but I started working for Axolotl at the beginning of Sept. and my experience has been nothing but wonderful from their platform, support, QA, work and management.  Lotus notes is used and extremely user-friendly.  Once you get up to speed, the min. lpd is 1200 and the QA standards are high but you get excellent support and feedback to help you achieve a high QA score.  I would highly recommend working for them!
I love working at home...

I agree that there are those out there that think being an at-home MT is a piece of cake and anyone can do it and they are sorely mistaken...I have an 8-1/2 year old and a 14 month old and I take great pride knowing that I am able to do my job and take care of my children....I have never used my children as an excuse not to get work done and I don't plan on it...my job as an MT is very important and I do it to the best of my ability....I do wish people would take more pride in their work but we don't all have the same work ethics unfortunately...

I love working at Webmedx.
I have only been there for a month now, but I absolutely love it. I used to work for a local hospital and wasn't sure how it would be to go somewhere else, but I am absolutely loving it. The pay is great (actually make more now than I did working at the local hospital for the last 3 years), benefits are pretty close to the cheapest in the business (at least for family coverage), and in the month I have been there, I have had OT approved twice and only ran out of work 2 times (for only an hour each time) right at the beginning(was hired for a new account).
I love working for Keystrokes...
I can't answer the second part of your question because I have been with them for 2 years...but I know they are a stable company and I finally found the perfect fit for me...good luck!!!
Ditto.....Love working for TT (nm)

I love working for TH. I only have single coverage
but it is very affordable and is excellent coverage. I do not know what it is for family coverage but I know that the single coverage runs about half the cost of other companies. They are an awesome company.
Amen, nicely said. I love working for MDI, and I don't get q
where these people are coming from. We have not been slow at all. I always get paid on time, and people answer my e-mails. If the people that are negative have valid complaints, I think they should talk to their team leader or a manager at MDI. I have never, ever had a problem with communication.
I LOVE working for TransTech. Been there almost three years and it's
the best MT job I have ever had. You will enjoy talking with Debbie, who does the hiring.
because I love working part-time
and filling the remainder of my day with extra-curricular but I do not want to live extra-curricular
That is you opinion, not fact. I love working for

I love working at TT. They have been very kind and understanding with me sm

on many occasions, and I have nothing bad to say about them.  However, I have also come to realize that it is my responsibility to seek out other sources of income, especially with the holidays coming up.  I am single with no children, but I still have tons of bills (my fault), and I doubt the electric company or other places will just let it slide because work is slow.  I am going to be starting an IC position that will allow me to flex my hours around the times I am committed to TT.  I definitely hope it gets better, and I have asked for another account, but sometimes I guess we have to be proactive and take care of ourselves.

Good luck to you!

Love working for my local clinic
I have 4 weeks vacation after I was there for just one year. After 5 years I get five weeks. I get paid hourly so if there's no work, which happens from time to time when all the doctors and the NP I work for are gone, I still get paid. I get all holidays and weekends off, a 401K plan, and profit sharing. I'm sure those working for Nationals make more than I do, but it was important to me that I didn't have to work weekends and/or holidays so it's the perfect fit for me.
Axolotl ROCKS! Love working for them! nm

I make good money with them and love working there. sm
Here is why: I have one account with a backup account that I have only used twice and both times because they needed help not because my primary was slow. I do 1600+ lines in 8 hours. I started at 8 cpl and was raised to 9 cpl at 90 days. I have as much work as I want and while my PTO days are less than the last place I was for 8 years, I make more during the year. I literally made $17K more with KS last year than I did with MQ the year before. I am higher this year.

I love Chartscript. The account I am on is wonderful and yes, I use ShortHand with it.

Good to me? I made $61K last year with them and so far this year, I am at $56K, so I will pass that for sure.

No to paid holidays but if you work them, it is time and a half.

If my account needs extra help, they offer time and a half for weekends.

I would rather work for less per line and be able to do more lines than make more per line but struggle to get 1000 lines in a day.

There are nay-sayers for KS. They are strict on quality and expect everyone to work their schedule. Not all accounts are great, but that's anywhere. The only people I know who left were either let go for either quality or not working their shift or they quit because their lead was about to fire them.
There are a lot of people who do and it seems that most love working there. I started 6 months ago
and have no complaints at all. It is refreshing to work for a company that treats employees as individuals, not just a number. I also like that they do not send work offshore and that I only have one main account. I do have 2 back-up accounts, but have never worked on them after training. I am lucky that my main account is very busy, too busy most of the time!
I am not management...I just happen to love working for Keystrokes...
sorry you had such a bad experience but doesn't mean that Keystrokes is bad...just in your opinion...
I love working on Meditech. I find it faster than other programs. It really does sm
depend on the account, the version, your connection, etc. There is not a lot of donated time in my opinion. I type upwards of 3000 lines per day (65 character count, not gross) and only work 8 hours. The spellcheck is medical on the account I am on. I use my Expanders for everything. Most of us on the account I am on do over 1500 lines a day, so maybe different accounts are set up different at the actual hospital. I have never lost a report in the middle, although I read that a lot here. I have been working on it for over 3 years.
In retrospect, I shouldn't have named my company because truly I do love working for them and sho
assume this was just a payroll error. So, that's what I'm thinking until I know better. If I did lose my insurance without any notice, then I would not be a very happy camper and would do what I needed to do. But, in the meantime, they have been great to work for...
I would rather know what they expect up front. I love working there. Breath of fresh air sm
I was with the Q for 12 years and started with Keystrokes a year ago tomorrow. I am fast and accurate and had no problems with their requirements.

They are definitely worth taking a look at. I make more money with them (at 0.09 per line now) than I did with MQ at 0.11 per line. Better accounts, no huge pool, plenty of work.

They are growing every year, every month it seems and do not lose accounts.

I am glad I made the switch.

If you do not like what they tell you upfront, try somewhere else. I liked having the information without having the ask 50 million questions and not knowing what to expect.
I love doing pathology, but it is hard to find a position for working at home. Gross pathology is
easy, descriptive typing.  Microscopic is a little more difficult, but once you get the terminology down, it goes really quickly.  I also found it easy to get lines in with pathology.  If you've done acute care, you should not have a problem with the transition, IMHO.
I feel the same way...I love working for Keystrokes and feel blessed that I have such a wonderful jo

Love, love, love TransTech! Not overhiring, just growing like crazy!

Ditto, Keystrokes is a wonderful company with wonderful people! I love working for Keystrokes!
I am just not making enough money.  They are a great company though, just ask for a back up account.
Shapin.
They don't know the answers to their own test. No telling what goes on there.
Shapin
I've definitely given up on them. I sent them two emails telling them I couldn't find their test on their site and both times I got an automated message back that said please go to the web site and take our test.
Shapin
This is a very laid back company. You can work FT/PT your choice. No min on line counts. There is only one ESL doc and he is a temporary. TAT is 24 hours, up to 48 on back log. If you need more info email me at MaryC_RI285@msn.com
Shapin..
Hi there,

I do lead QA for Shapin. Feel free to email me with any questions. MaryC_RI285@msn.com
Shapin?
nm
Must have been Shapin, right?

Shapin
I am also a new Editor with Shapin. It seems as though the editors that are no longer here had the company pretty messed up. I am thankful for Laurie giving me the opportunity and mentoring to become a good editor. If there any more good editors out there that are looking for an awesome company to work for, extremely freindly and helpful, apply. We need good editors not crybaby wanna be's.
another ex-Shapin IC
Again, another ex-Shapin employee without a name. If you feel that you were a good employee why are you afraid to post your name? Not surprising I guess. I also am curious as to what you mean by They feed their lies to J, the owner, who believes everything they say. I can tell everyone the facts. Fact number one: People who do their jobs and don't steal from companies KEEP THEIR JOBS. Fact two: Disgruntled ex-employees always yell Foul the loudest because they do not learn from their mistakes, they just go onto the next company and mess that company up too.

I just wish for once, someone would give everyone specifics instead of just generalized comments like unprofessional and lies. And while you are at it, please answer this question....How can you live with yourself knowing that you were stealing from a company by not even doing the job you were paid to do?
Shapin

Hello,

Is there anyone who works for Shapin that could give me some insight as to good or bad?  A got a response to a resum I sent and would like some information on how they are to work for before answering.

TIA

Shapin
I applied for the editing position so not sure on the amount for the transcription side.
Shapin
I worked for Shapin for about four months.  Don't do it!!!  The work load is really bad - hardly any work at all, very low line count, and the pay is miserable.  Check into Professional Transcriptions, Inc out of Pensacola, Florida.  That's who I work for now and the work load is consistent and the pay is great!
Shapin
Does anyone know if Shapin Medical Transcription still exists?
Stay away from Shapin....

extremely low pay, very disorganized, offshores to India.

re stay away from shapin
low, low pay, poor management.
Please clarify-Shapin (or someone associated with them) said
My goodness, and you jumped at it or away from it? Plenty of companies without outsourced dictation out there with benefits where an experienced, good MT can make that in half that amount of time. With a company representative admitting they offer low pay, why would I elect to work for Shapin. I'm smart enough to know how things work and can multitask more than one company to optimize my income and benefit potential.

Tisk, tisk.
Never worked for Shapin, never will

I can't be accused of being a bad employee or even submitting a resume that would disconcert the company.  There are multiple public postings in addition to MTStars where this company has been discussed and the person professing to be the owner has come across as quite superordinate.  My only comment here (without any malicious intent) is that a full investigation be given to this company before making a decision whether it fits your needs.  I've been sharoosed by the company representative's lack of savoir-faire.

Stay away from Shapin....
do a search on this board and you'll see why. Very unprofessional company.
NOT SHAPIN. I can guarantee you that. nm

Do a search here on Shapin......sm
Very unprofessional company, and they only pay 0.015 cents a line for editing.

I just wanted to say that this is one of the best companies I have worked for.  I am an Editor and the people are great, pay is on time, and there is never any negative feedback.  Everyone makes mistakes, but they are really polite and nice about it because they understand.  You are not just another MT/Editor to them.  Communication is always open for questions, concerns etc.  The supervisors are great.  I don't understand all the negativity towards this company.
