Offered 7.25 cpl for 30 years experience - sm
Your offer sounds like a good deal compared to mine, but neither is what we are worth.
TTS offered me 6.5 cpl with 20 years' experience
NM
I was offered 8 cpl with 19 years of experience.
I was going to give it a try, but I didn't want to purchase equipment for a job paying 8 cpl.  Sorry, but that's way low if you ask me.  I think it is a rather small company though.
I have many many years of experience and was offered....
7.5 cpl as employee or 9 cpl for IC. Seemed way too low to me, especially after I was told what the account was like. They seem nice, but nice doesn't pay the bills! Good luck to you!

20 years of experience and offered

I was offered 8 cpl with 12 years of experience. Did NOT accept the job!! nm
s
I had applied but they offered 7 cpl for 14 years experience..I said NO...
That's about all I know. I cant remember what kind of work it was either, but I wouldnt do clinic or acute care for that low pay.
Fifteen years experience here and also offered 8 cpl as a max at multiple companies. This biz is
going down hill fast. I remember making 10 cpl 10 years ago and that was cheap..Only profession I know that has gone down in wages rather than up. Very sad. If you offered 8 cpl..take it..
I was feeling bad that they didn't get back to me with my 35+ years of experience, sm

but if that is the pittance they offer for pay, I'm glad they saved me the trouble of turning them down.  Pretty soon, scrubbing toilets will pay more.

I assumed it meant you didn't need years of experience..what does entry level mean to you?
nm
Feel lucky you didn't get a rejection email. I have over 16 years experience
and this is the first test, since the very beginning of my career, that I have not passed.  I am stunned.  I'm not perfect by any means, but this is the first real rejection. I understood it early in my career, but after all this time, and working the past five years doing acute care for a couple of nationals, I get turned out by this company because I failed the test and they do not even tell you which part. I needed this job, but I guess it's back to the drawing board.
I was offered $40K and wouldn't do it; it required

somebody must be taking it or it wouldn't be offered - whatever the market will bear, ya know--

I wouldn't work here if I didn't already
Spheris has terrible insurance, inadequate supervisors, and sends all the good accounts to India. If you want crappy accounts and a supervisor that never answers your emails, and don't need insurance, then you might like it here. Speech rec is the norm here now, with very regular transcription which is usually the doctors that can't speak clear enough to do speech rec. I'm still making enough money to survive, and don't want the stress of changing jobs to an unknown situtation or I would be out of here. I doubt they are offering new hires the rate I make, and what I make is not all that great.
in other words, she didn't have time for someone who wouldn't
x
Wouldn't that be great if everyone they didn't pay reapplied there!
please tell us where you saw job posting.
Don't know. I was offered a position with them but didn't
take it.    I know very little about DQS/WebCorrect, but the recruiter told me you get a couple of lines for each report for having to look at a file.   I don't know enough about DQS to understand exactly what they are talking about though.
I didn't take the job, but I was offered 9 cpl base.

I was offered a position with TT but didn't

take it so I can't speak for them, but Axolotl is a great company.  I'm making almost 2 cpl more than what TT offered.  Work has been slow lately but they pay downtime and have are adding accounts little by little.  6 paid holidays, PTO, 401K with up to 3% match, free short/long-term disability.  I don't have a need for health insurance, but premiums are more reasonable than most.

They provide all hardware/software.  Great tech support available 24/7.  QA pretty strict, but reasonable.  Almost no flexibility with schedule, though getting off for doctor's appointments and things like that aren't an issue.  I think they only have 90 MTs/QA right now so still a small company, but one that respects its employees.

I've been there a year and like with anything there have been a few ups and downs, but I would highly recommend then.

Yes. I wouldn't classify them as good or bad. Pay was okay. Account I was on was okay. Didn&#
like my supervisor very much.  She was kind of disorganized and didn't really communicate all that effectively.  All in all, pretty comparable to other places I've worked.  There was a problem with running out of work and when you are an employee instead of IC you are expected to sit there and keep checking for work during your shift which kind of sucked cause you didn't get paid for basically being on-call.
I was offered 8 cpl last year, experienced. Didn't take it. nm
s
I was offered a position but didn't accept.

The whole time I was interviewing the recruiter was IMing people, either interrupting to do it or saying out loud what she was sending.  I can understand the need to communicate, but thought it extremely rude.

The account they wanted to put me on was the most wonderful account and I was lucky there was an opening because the MTs on the account just loved it and there was rarely an opening.   She then put me in contact with the lead on the account and she told me that it was an extremely difficult account and that they couldn't keep MTs on the account.  I had worked on the account years ago when I worked on YOG and I knew that it was an extremely difficult account.   The lead also let slip that they offshored work and the good work went offshore and the crap was left here for us to do.

I hate being lied to more than anything and once someone lies and I catch them in it I'm done, no second chances.

I was offered a job the same day; didn't take it, but process was quicky. nm
f
I also thought the offered rate was too low and didn't accept it. nm
s
If they offered you a position, didn't they give you a pay rate?
nm
12 yrs experience, offered 8.5 cpl in the last 6 months. :( nm
s
Me 16 yrs. experience. Offered 7 cents too.

I was offered 10 cpl; after 5 years at MQ
at a MUCH lower rate, and NEVER an increase in 5 years, plus now they've also calculated the line counts to be much lower, I feel LUCKY to get 10 cpl!   I'm thrilled to death, jumping up and down for joy!  I too have almost 20 years of experience as a career MT.
You offered 6 cpl for someone with nearly 20 years
I wonder how much you charge your clients if you can only pay MTs 6 cpl and QA 1.5 cpl.

I would never insult someone with that many years of experience with an offer of 6 cpl. And yes, it is an insult. There are plenty of other MTSOs with consistent work where one can make a lot more than 6 cpl. Why would someone want to work for that? Probably they are new with no experience or they are clueless as to their own worth or they are NO GOOD.

It is highly unprofessional of you to come on here talking like this about former employees, good or bad. Very tacky, and it speaks volumes about your character.

I obviously turned down your offer of 6 cpl, but I'm really glad others have sites like this to come to where they can find out from other MTs what a place is like to work at. As someone else said, smart people can filter through the posts here and decide for themselves whether a company is a good fit or not. Former employees' rants and raves can be dismissed as disgruntled. However, your own rants are just pathetic. You just opened your mouth and proved to all that most of the prior posts are likely accurate. You should take Business 101.
8 cpl I was offered with 19 years of
x
I have 20 years and have never been offered
and if you're reliable you probably do, but if they give it to you with 10 years of experience, then they have to shell it out to everyone with 10 years or more, so doubt you'll get 10 cpl.  I've only been offered 9 at the most.  Good luck though...
And with 20+ years, you still get offered

It seems like the longer you are in the business, the less they offer.  Funny how that works.  I've never been offered more than 9 ever and that's for clinic which on a few occasions was really acute care they were trying to pass off as clinic.  All of this trickery goes along with the business.  If anyone is making 10 cpl, then they either have been with the company a long time OR they are being paid an incentive to go above and beyond a certain line quota.

Companies post their rate of pay, at least most of them, so there is no guess work.  For a while there I'd say about a year ago, most were actually putting in the ads - rate is not negotiable...  cracked me up!  Everything in this fine country is negotiable!

We are being offered that with 20+ years

Consider yourself lucky you're not at 6 cpl.

Use MT-World software, offered 8-1/4 cpl for experience, cap MIGHT be 9 cpl. nm

Offered pay for 6 months experience... any good?

I got offered a position to type some reports in a specialty I have been typing for 6 months.  I was offered 7cpl for 65 character line.  Does not pay for hard returns, tabs, empty lines, headers, footers are not paid.  Spaces between words are.

At my other position I was getting 6cpl including hard returns.

How do I figure out if this new offer is equal or better than what I already had?

Yes, I know neither are high paying.  I am new to the industry, only finished my course 7months ago.  BUT, this particular specialty is easy for me and I have very high marks with QA.

Any and all advise is welcome.  Thanks!

Soooo...if those WITH lots of experience are being offered
d
I was offered less than 7cpl this year with 10+ yrs experience.

Good place to start if you have no experience but you wouldn't want to stay there.

Unique experience working with and for the Indians and that's all I can say about that. Just realize that when you say NO.. because of the language barrier to them it means that yes, I will do it. LOL..I was new to the online biz too and they were my first job. In hindsight, YIKES.. but I stayed 7 months and then moved on.

I wouldn't assume if was your "mistake"... had a similar experience this week
I applied to Medscribe two weeks ago. I got an e-mail and telephone call on Monday, and I finally (after several attempts) was able to get ahold of Gary Jurenovich (recruiter) on Wednesday. On Wednesday, he made me the offer, sent me the contract and all HR paperwork to fax back to him.

Friday morning, I faxed the paperwork (it is to be faxed within 2 business days). Friday afternoon, I got an e-mail asking how I was doing on the paperwork and I told G I had sent it that morning.

He responded Friday evening that he did not receive it, and that I would need to re-fax. I did not get this e-mail until Tuesday morning (out of town for three-day weekend). He called me at 11:00 that morning and told me that, because I had not faxed him the paperwork, it was a bust.

I told him I could have it re-faxed in an hour and he told me he would see what he could do.

Never heard back from him.

So.. all in all, don't think it was your mistake. My thought is, if they have that little regard for having me as an employee, I might be better off elsewehere.
I have been with AccuSTAT WI for 6 years and I wouldn't work anywhere else. The accounts are gre
the MTSO is excellent, very professional and caring. Flexibility and pay is always on time. If you have any questions, please email me directly.

Two years ago I was offered .075 cpl. Horrible dictators!

The wages offered to MTs with alot of years is (sm)
in addition to the adjectives you used, downright demeaning, and bordering on questioning one's self-worth. I'm really so sick over it because for the past 2 decades I have devoted my life to MTing; gave 100+% each and every day, kept up with the new drugs/terminology (on my own time). I even have gone so far beyond what is expect because of my love of MTing and medicne, that rather than read a good juicy romance novel at bedtime, I'd read one of the doc's I transcribed for leftover medical journals, just keep on top of the game. This was while working inhouse--- and all because I was properly compensated for my hard efforts. Working from home for an online,....that don't give a rats azz....all they want are the lines and 98.5% accuracy at all times. Period. That's just one of the problems with working from home -- the impersonalization that accompanies it. I'm headed back inhouse where I'm appreciated, have a blast with my coworkers, docs, nurses, tecs, and be paid what I am worthy of after doing this for over 1/4 century. No more penny checks for me. No more line counts. No QAing. AMEN.
Paying for experience is NOT the norm out here. I'm finding newbies getting offered my same 8

Think you still have to go to NJ to train. Was offered a very low per-page rate several years ago.
s
About 5 years ago was offered 10 cpl including spaces, 65 characters. sm
Don't know about now. That was doing all acute care, mainly op reports with full benefit package.

I declined and have my own accounts, but it was a good offer.

Good luck.
I was offered 8.25 cpl in the beginning of 2006. Turned it down. 13+ years in.
