Feel lucky you didn't get a rejection email. I have over 16 years experience

Posted By: Depressed on 2009-02-03
In Reply to: Five resumes. Five transcription tests. No calls. - not singing a happy tune

and this is the first test, since the very beginning of my career, that I have not passed.  I am stunned.  I'm not perfect by any means, but this is the first real rejection. I understood it early in my career, but after all this time, and working the past five years doing acute care for a couple of nationals, I get turned out by this company because I failed the test and they do not even tell you which part. I needed this job, but I guess it's back to the drawing board.

I was offered 8 cpl w/years of experience. He wouldn't say if pay would go up if I didn't take

I was feeling bad that they didn't get back to me with my 35+ years of experience, sm

but if that is the pittance they offer for pay, I'm glad they saved me the trouble of turning them down.  Pretty soon, scrubbing toilets will pay more.

I assumed it meant you didn't need years of experience..what does entry level mean to you?
nm
I feel lucky if I get 1100 lines a day. I was doing sm
at least 1500 a day on DocQscribe.
Consider yourself lucky. Not my experience with VR.

Working Christmas - gladly. For years I was lucky enough (sm)
to have an in house job where others volunteered to work Xmas, Easter, etc. so those of us with small children could enjoy the holiday.

Now I feel it is my turn to pay back and work the holidays so the mothers of younger children can have that special time with them. It only lasts such a short time.

Happy Holidays to all.
If you're extremely lucky you get 9cp. Experience doesn't seem to count much anymore. nm

How recent is this info? A contact said I'd be lucky to start at 7 cpl w/years of exp. nm

wonder why they feel the need to email all MT's
you'd think they would know how to email only the MT's it pertains to

and the stupid email graphics from QA are not professional at all, they distract from the real content of the message... very unprofessional plus she can't spell.
feel free to email me...
Hello,
I currently work for them and I really like my account. I am able to make a good line rate and the people are very nice. There are some problems, but I have not found a national yet that does not have some sort of problems with them. If you would like more info I would be happy to answer your questions.
By the way, feel free to email me

also as I have a direct connection to the hiring in my company and I would be happy to pass the resumes on to the right people.  I know we have openings in acute care including emergency room reports.  I don't think we have anything else right now but wouldn't hurt to send the resumes to the link above.  If we don't have anything, I am sure they will contact you when they do.

Feel free to email me.
All responses will be kept confidential.
Please feel free to email too.
Thanks!
I wish! None that I know of. Feel free to email me! nm

Resume rejection

If this is the company in Florida, I had the same thing happen.  I finally contacted the recruiter by phone, at which time he told me that he had repeatedly rejected my resume because I did not include details about each company that I had worked for in my life.  No, my resume does not include the names, addresses and phone numbers of these companies.  It only includes details about my experience, computer, reference library, etc...

So, if your resume is like mine, this could be the reason that you are being rejected.

Frankly, after my telephone conversation with the recruiter, I felt blessed to have never worked for him.

With non-MT management or something else? Feel free to email. Thx :) nm

no email came through, but feel free to post ?'s here

I feel your frustration. I have had the same experience. nm

I never got past a rejection e-mail
I applied for a job with them before. I had experience in all of the specialties they were advertising for (even a few more years experience on top of the experience they were asking for) and I got a rejection letter telling me that they weren't going to move forward with my application because their current openings wouldn't take advantage of my skills/experience. I thought taking a test would prove that much, but I wasn't even offered that opportunity. I guess it was meant to be anyways. Doesn't bother me, but definitely made me feel like an idiot, as I haven't gotten a rejection letter like that before when I had over the required experience in all advertised specialties.

The questions that you asked here, I asked some of them in an e-mail, but they weren't answered. :) Ah, at least they respond back to people who send resumes.

Good luck, though! Hopefully someone can better answer your questions!
No, don't feel bad - I didn't pass the editing test, either, to my shock! ;) nm
nm
Email me for details. Don't feel like getting bashed on here today!

Feel free to post here or email Natalie as well. nm

Thanks so much! I feel better since reading your post. I have had experience with
unreasonable QA in the past so it is nice to have a heads up in that regard. Like you, my primary interest is paid on time, good accounts and plenty of work. Sounds like OSi meets those basic requirements and that is all I need. Thanks again!
Yes, but if you called off suddenly a couple times a month because you just didn't feel like
:+
If you want to email me, please feel free. I am headed to the beach today through tomorrow :)
I live literally 1 block from the shore and have only been twice this year due to baseball with kids, my mother being in town for 3 weeks who does not like the beach and wants to be entertained all day long and a bout with the flu. I am going to take the rest of today and tomorrow and bake like a french fry!
Didn't get an email, and they
Meanwhile, it is time to submit a timesheet and I have no idea where to send it or how to set it up.  I think I have been plenty patient.
I didn't get that email. n/m

The trainer didn't email you?
My trainer sent me an email letting me know that my computer would be arriving and to confirm when my training would start.

In the email, she gave me my user ID and password to log onto the computer. This is so I could set it up and make sure the internet was working properly before calling the specified number.

Maybe they don't do that with everyone? I don't know.
Interesting, my email didn't say anything about . .
the date the contract expired, just that it was prior to acquisition (which would not be 18 months), and did not use the term half of their business, was worded differently.
Didn't you get the email explaining this
situation? To me the email was made it very clear about the error...I realize that change can make a person panic but I think TT MTs are safe, the company followed up very quickly on the matter and seem to have it under control. Relax
I didn't see any email, yesterday?

I tried the email again and it didn't work, so

I'll just post it here. Maybe if you email me it might be easier.

Hi Fatcat,

I'm trying this email again and hope that it gets to you.  I'm an IC at MDI too and I have 2 accounts that both have no work today.  I've been considering taking on another job part-time, but most of the ads are for full-time or for ICs where they set a schedule for you.

I just wanted to ask you if you know of companies that will hire ICs part-time and allow for a flexible schedule?  Also, how do you juggle the second IC position when most require a Saturday or Sunday and that's when most of the MDI work comes in?  I'm so afraid of taking on a second job and then finding I'm over my head.

It is the only place I have been for 5 years that I feel I am not being ripped off and making money
I work hard but I did for the other companies too and bit by bit more things were stripped away and I would end up making half again. Keystrokes has given me confidence again, and I am making money. That is the name of the game, that is me though. I love it here.
Didn't get your email - Unless you weren't talking to me.
In that case, nevermind :)
Didn't you just LOVE the latest TT email?

Congratulating us for getting all the work caught up last night and pointing out we weren't EVEN OFFERED A BONUS.  Nice.  Yes, those of us at TT are so desparate for work that when it finally shows up, we don't need a bonus to work our fingers to the bone and those in Management crow about it.

Made me throw up a bit in my mouth.

Didn't have any "attitude." My experience
I have the experience and my skills are very much in demand.
This was my exact experience so I didn't

I wish they didn't require 5 yrs experience ..
I've only got a little over 3 years.
I didn't experience the same with Transcend...sm
I trained 2 days after I completed my paperwork and have 2 accounts. I rarely run out of work and if I do - if I take a 15 minute break and go back in there will be work there.
Awful experience with them. I didn't
have to buy Word because I already had it but the QA person was horrible and very rude.  She kept telling me to use the samples but the samples made absolutely no sense. I'd get reports back with things filled in that I knew had not been dictated.  I was trying to transcribe what I heard and pointed that out but was still told to use the samples.  Horrible experience and knew it wasn't going anywhere so got out.  Very happy in my new position without the QA rudeness.
Okay. Don't say in a few years I didn't

I didn't have the best experience, but it was not a good fit for me. Still waiting to get

Was offered 8-1/4 cpl for experience. They use MT World software. Didn't take the job. nm

Same here. 20+ years, just got the email.
Their loss. I even emailed back asking about my test results and of course no reply as of yet. According to the QA person I spoke to Friday I did extremely well on the testing and she was sure they would be offering me a position. Guess not!
Didn't that TransTech email about them going to Vegas and us POOR MT's paying for that trip ju

rub us struggling MT's when she sent out that email to us.  She didn't say how many went to LV -- just bye . . . we're off!

Enjoy the light of the Dictaphone flashlight begging for a job for you, while we enjoy the lights of Vegas !

YUK !  Totally irritated this TT MT.  Sickening, in fact.

I worked for them about 2 years ago...didn't have to go to the office
to train though, did it at home. At the time they paid by the character...some off the wall formula to get the actual pay, but worked out to around 8 cpl so they said. QA sucked at their job, just didn't have the knowledge I guess. And management...you just don't want to work there!
It didn't when I worked with MQ, but that was a couple of years ago. SM
Instant Text works very well with DQS, though.
Webmedx didn't about 1-1/2 years ago. Good luck. nm

7.25 cpl - 12 years experience
x
With how many years of experience ?
x
I have 18 years of experience and yet
I got sent a letter telling me to reapply when I had more experience.

They would not tell me what I missed on their testing. I know I did not do that badly.

You can have them.
