ASR...Sit around all day and make a few edits?
So, let me get this straight. You have not actually done any ASR but you have seen a few reports and you think the ASR is really accurate and you can just make a few edits and be on to the next report? You swallow the company hype that you will produce twice as much with ease? As my mom would say, you are riding for a fall.

You could gain a lot better perspective if you would just explore the gazillion posts, pros and cons, on these boards with an open mind. It may be the wave of the future....but stop complaining? Not. We can either speak out now or forever hold our peace. You really will not want to accept the unacceptable and find yourself having to do twice the lines for half the pay just to break even. Check back with us after you have been on the thing for a couple of months. Okay?
When a QA always does full voice edits sm
and they should, they actually hear more doctors in a day then we do. I know when I edited, I would set the speed up a bit to get through a well done report faster. I ended up hearing doctors from about 100 reports in a shift rather than the 25 to 40 I hear as an MT. When a given dictator is difficult, they go to QA over and over again, making it even easier to figure out what is difficult for you and I in an isolated report.

That, and the ear is just different. Hard to explain, but it is.
If Ichart deducts 8% from ExText line counts, you are actually not getting paid for spaces

It is the equivalent of a 70.2 character line with spaces, 65  characters without spaces.
