per his request I told him Time To Call, he called Not That Time, emailed me
nm
The J&J lady said to call her if there are questions.
It doesn't matter to me at all, so I haven't.
i would call at the high ups every night after midnight to request you be taken off their employee l
keep calling each of them every night after midnight as they do to you until you finally make someone upset enough that they see to it that you are removed from ALL their lists. or you could block their # and do the spam for emails as the other poster said.
The last time I was on a call with her
all she did was carry on about how she is a nobody, that she is 'only' the QA manager (emphasizing 'only') and how people in ops delete her email's ----- so that pretty much did it for me, that was the most unprofessional business call I have ever been on in my life, I could not believe that she spent at least 15 minutes carrying on about it. It was supposed to be a mandatory phone call about account specific and she made it all about herself for at least half the call. I gave a 2 week notice and never looked back. Totally ridiculous.
they should call only part time
They called one day and woke up my sick baby on my off day. I am full time and had not missed any work. I got mad about that but I guess they were just doing their job. But think they should call part time only for extra help not full time.
I gave them the best time to call

x

The time of the call depends on where your
last name falls in the alphabet.  There are 3 different times I believe.
The IT person will call you at the assigned time (sm)

and will do the install for you - there will be a link where you hand over control of your computer and they install and test everything so you're ready to go.  Good luck to you!

I remember a call like that total waste of time
nm
I know we have clinic work but not sure about the Part time. Call a recruiter. nm
.
This is the TTD lady for sure

Or someone who works with her.  No MT would be saying so what.

The Fat Lady Sang
Yes, but did she sing in harmony?
Thank you kind lady.
nm
some lady called...
sounded more like she was screening me. She asked if I had the required needed to work for them (cardiology/pulmonology), line count, high-speed, etc. I told her yes, and she said someone would call me in a few days--that was a few months ago.
You are way off base lady
I have worked with Holocaust survivors, have you? Ive worked cleaning their rooms taking people for walks, holding hands, listening to stories of horror and hope, shared art therapy moments, given hugs and support. Dont you dare judge me. You are way out of line, whoever you are. If you get nothing else from what I've written here, get this: No one wants to be labeled a victim. You have absolutely no right.

Peace.

She's a nice lady but there isn't
I spent most weekends on her stuff.  The pay was way low, but she doesn't charge much anyway.  She would dump on me Fri night... not sure why she keeps needing this same position, but that should tell you something.  She posts for this position every month or so...  I guess no one lasts....
You mean the lady named Pepper at OSI?
who knew!
Ur gettin' on my nerves, old lady!

When the lady sold her company to..sm
Execuscribe, it went downhill from there.  I was hired by them, went through ALL of the testing except the Psych thing.....and then I was told I would be paid 7 cpl and I had to purchase liability insurance.  CC....this Denise person must have been your "bestest" friend????
nice spelling lady
x
I beg ur pardon, young lady!
I was NOT being sarcastic! Medquist truly IS my best company - my previous company paid $9/hr. and at the Q I make $25 - U may open mouth and insert foot now, missy!
I'd say no way, nice lady or not. There is absolutely no
way I would wait for 45 days for a paycheck.  She's waiting to get paid before she pays MT and if she doesn't have the $$ to pay MTs whether or not account pays, that doesn't speak well of the company.  Also I'm assuming that 6 cpl is as an IC.  You'd be better off working in fast food.
There is a lady who posted here in the past - sm
Snowbunny I think is her name that uses it a lot because of her CTS I think. I just recently reloaded it on my computer (had it on my old one but never programed it), and still need to work with it a bit in order to actually start using it. I think it would help me a lot as I am not very fast at typing, even with my shortcuts, etc. Plus it would break up the monotony some I think. I have DNS8. I want to upgrade to the newest (10) but it is quite expensive, so it will probably wait a while. But I have heard if utilized correctly and with some work it can be worthwhile, but like anything it takes practice and you need to build it up, etc.
High maintenance lady? LOL

High maintenance ladies usually find themselves a sugar daddy to provide their maintenance.  LOL  Ever consider combining your traveling to help someone who is less high maintenance?  Do you know that you can volunteer just about anywhere in the world doing good while vacationing at the same time?  How about volunteering with Habitat For Humanity?  You could combine that with your traveling too.  Gives you a much more warm and fuzzy feeling than just doing for yourself.  BTW we just bought a nice large motor home to serve as our private motel room.  Actually my husband and I are pretty low maintenance, we get our kicks by doing things for other less fortunate people.  Try it, you might like it.

BTW Chatty, how have you been doing the last few years anyhow?  Don't ya just love being anon?  LOL

Hey coffee lady MssIndigo!
I got a kick out of reading your original post about VR and I appreciate this feedback also. I know, it's though though and I have been an MT for 20 years. I thought I was going to be transcribing when I got the job but it is mostly VR and my minimal goal is to achieve 250 lph, which is creeping up, but not there yet. I tell you though... I work hard for that money. My biggest thing with any new company is constantly looking up docs and different facilities. If not for that, my fingers would be flying. Let us all hang in there with a sip of coffee every now and again, eh!
request

who is it you are trying to locate at medquist, i am an MT there presently, perhaps i can help

She's a sweet lady. She has a lot of experience and a lot of stories that go with it.
I like her a lot, but I can kind of see where you are coming from, as whenever I've spoken with her I could pretty much write off the next 60-90 minutes. It was a great time to clean out email, though! (And if you are reading this, you-know-who, it's not a criticism but rather an acknowledgement that you have a LOT of stories to tell!)
Does anyone know how to contact the lady at Administrative Assistants?? (sm)
I can't find anything for a website or in the archives here on how to contact.  Thank you.
Tired of being called an old lady or aging!
I am in this over 26 years. call me old! I am young at heart, about 21. I am also in biological age just 47! How dare you assume. Some of us started working our way through college! I have 3 small children yet, and plan to work for many years to come in this industry. Also don't talk to me like a dutch uncle telling me how I complain this, etc. You don't know me (the above poster) and don't presume you do! I am at once apalled, and insulted someone would come here and talk to me, the one reading this, that way. If you had to put your user name on a regular basis, you would never speak this way. One thing about this board is allowing people to post names on this board begets nastiness. There, now. I have said my old lady, lazy, bad-quality, MTness piece!
Me thinks the lady doth protest too much

I do not know All Type or any of the people involved in this but it have been reading along because I am interviewing with them next week.  I was very upset by this and scared that I had made the wrong choice.  You have made a lot of statements and I was thinking that you were treated unfairly and that I hoped you proved your case in court and maybe make our place in the industry a little stronger.  We are the lowest people on the totem pole in every company and we do get kicked around a lot.  But you now sound like you had it in for one particular person at your company and have worked very hard to cause problems for that person.  I just do not know why you would stay there or even want to go back if you hate this person and she makes you this unhappy with your life and job and she singled you out to cut your pay so drastically.  I agree with the other poster who said you have wasted a great deal of time on this and that you should move on and find yourself a better job with a company that is a better fit for you.  I think you have gone too far and become far too emotional when you get this dangerously close to slander.

I have had accounts request a certain MT

off because of quality issues, although why they made it to the client I'm not sure as they should have been caught in QA.

I JUST POSTED A REQUEST!!!
There are two TN MTSOs who seem to have a problem with their 401K. Help if you have any problems or know of them.
request to fingers
Hi fingers. If you dont mind, I am out of work since April and trying to find somewhere paying okay. I left Medquist and they called me asking to come back. I am desparate at this point and am thinking about it. How do I contact e-MTS. HEEEELLLLLP. Here is my email address: baker699@adelphia.net
I would definitely request a max. of 5 specialties. SM
I have no idea who you work for, however I do not think it is unrealistic to request a reduction in the number of specialties that you work on. Any intelligent MTSO would certainly want to accommodate an MT in this regard. After all, it only increases your production, thus increasing the TAT to the client. Unless you work for a big national (won't mention names) and working in a cesspool mess, then there is just poor business sense. What can it hurt to ask, and if they don't accommodate you, look elsewhere. I have been in a situation similar to yours (15 specialties), but no matter how proficient I became with each specialty, I was never able to make good money. I was constantly transitioning back and forth from different templates for different specialties, in addition to different templates for different doctors (even if working on the same specialty), looking up doctors addresses, etc. I moved on, and luckily with the number of years experience that I have, I specified my need for a few steady accounts before I signed on the dotted line. Good luck, but don't settle for less than you are worth.
I sent a request for their website and
this is what he gave me -

www.medi-task.com.
Is is ever appropriate for an MT to request a raise?

Would anyone who has requested a raise be willing to share their experience with me?  How long were you with the company before you asked for a raise?  Were you an IC or an employee?  What was your company's response in general?  If you were granted a raise, what was considered before it was given to you?  Time in?  Quality of work?  Production?  Attitude/flexibility?  Coming up on my 1 year anniversary an IC and would like to ask for 0.05 cent/line raise, but don't know if I should even consider doing so.  Would not want the company to lower their opinion of me/punish me for asking.  Your kind, and most importantly, nonsarcastic responses are greatly appreciated.  This is a sincere post.

Exactly! And I did request results...
of my testing or a more definitive answer and received no reply. I learn new things every day--sometimes things that I have been doing incorrectly. If it was, indeed, a timed test...I was screwed because I checked EVERYTHING. I have even submitted a copy of what I typed (Yes, I copied and pasted to a Word document) to my current supervisor and asked her to point out my errors. She found none and I feel better:)
Just like I had a client request
each day.  I said absolutely not as I am an IC and I am not available sometimes before 4 p.m. and also may not have the work complete.  Once the doctor found out, he was definitely agreeable to my take on this situation as opposed to his office staff.  You see, sometimes, the office staff whether it be for your own private client or for a company will try to get over.  I also informed this office staff that I would have to be an employee for that as well as paid an hourly rate in order to be on call.  I work by production at my own leisure.  I give them the turnaround they would like, but that includes delivery.  The physician has not and will never have a problem with that; it's the office staff that wants to see me sweat because remember they think we have it made.  Without benefits, I call my own shots.  Like or not, the client/MTSO contracting with you must give you that right OR make you an employee if they'd like to demand things.   All in a day's work!
Does an MTSO have a right to request..
My credit report/score?? I have applied for an employee position with a company that actually has decent reviews here. The company wants me to grant permission for them to access our personal financial information. My husband and I discussed it and have decided against this based on the simple fact that our my credit report has absolutely no relevance whatsoever with home-based employment. I could understand it if I was working in a field related to finance, handling money, or even dealing with the public. I don't have anything to hide. It's just the principle.

Can I be denied employment for not allowing them access to my CR? Anyone else experience this?

TIA!
Tell them you will comply with their request
start emailing you every time the well runs dry, stating why that happened and what corrective actions are being taken to remedy the situation. Be sure to emphasize the requirement to inform you precisely when the next reports will appear and how much work you will be able to find on the system at any given hour on any given day.

Sheesh! If it were me, I'd stay put just as long as it takes to get something else lined up and then submit your final email and tell them toodle-loo.
Can you request certain job types...sm

Do they let you request certain job types?

My favorite type of job is operative notes and I would be more than happy to take them off everyone's hands. My ideal day would be operative notes (with an occasional psych eval and ER note mixed in). I dream of the days when I could work without a set schedule on the work types that I liked on ONE account. Those were the days.

I'm been with MQ for almost 10 years and right now I'm in the cesspool of 25+ different hospitals; never having the same doctor; I just talked to my supervisor on the phone for the first time ever last week (and she's been my supervisor for 8 months now); haven't had a raise in 5 years despite asking every year. I've stuck it out for the last 3 years being unhappy because I felt fortunate to be able to work from home. I finally got mad enough this past week that I put my resume out and now I have 3 different companies to interview with in 2 days.

My request for workers
Apparently all of you who are so disgusted with my posting are so busy that you have time to be on this chat board. I, am quite busy and do not have time to filter through hundreds of resumes, which I have received in the past from a posting. Therefore I was upfront and honest about what I needed and what I would pay. NO, this is not subcontracted work, this is a full fledged hospital account, if it is any of your business. Spend time working not running other people down that you know nothing about.
She specifically said we had to request
If we miss work for any reason we are supposed to put in for PTO; then if we make it up by the end of the week we can cancel the PTO request.  She specifically mentioned that the only time we have the option of not using PTO and going unpaid is when we have used all our PTO up.  She mentioned all this in a blanket email to the whole team right before we started regularly running out of work due to overhiring.  How plain does it need to be?
I'm not saying it isn't legal to request it

I'm just saying it seems a bid inconsiderate.  She isn't a new employee and she isn't an employee.  She is an IC who has been working for them and obviously has handled their accounts for a while now.  If she was a brand-spanking new MT to the company and clients, the request wouldn't seem so unreasonable.

If it is a new platform that they're rolling out, wouldn't it be more considerate to train the ICs online rather than expect them to travel for training at their expense?  If she was an employee, the company would have to pay the expenses, but it seems they're just taking advantage of the fact that she is an IC.

WHY NOT REQUEST A PROMOTION (eg., QA) - SM
since you seem to like to nit-pick other MTs' small typos.  I'm sure you'd feel right at home there ... as far as this board is concerned, the poster whom you feel the need to criticize IS NOT ON YOUR PAYROLL -- unless you're trying to deflect from the message of the poster.
some request to know cpl before testing.
nm
i got an email from them. Very nice lady, would love to work for
I'm sure they pay very well but I need the insurance. I went with JLG.
I worked for a lady's service who was bought out by Transcend
a few years ago and they offered her a position in the home office. She sold, had the job for a few months and then she was terminated. I know for a fact that Transcend said in a paper article in the Atlanta Journal and Constitution that they outsourced because could not find enough American MTs to do the work. Now what I find surprising is how many complain on here about sitting and waking for work for Transcend. Wonder how that happens?
Yes, call waiting works. I also have call forwarding from my home line

comany info request

Hello all ~

Does anyone know anything about the following companies and could share experiences, etc?  They are Freedom Type and Private Secretary.  Also, does anyone know of any companies who handle just clinic or VA accounts?

Thanks so much!
