Looks like they pay more at MQ for goodness sake.
    Pretty sad.
    For goodness sake!
    This is whining now, ridiculous.
    Well for goodness sake
spill the name of your company, maybe I'll come out of retirement.  LOL
    Explain for goodness sake!
These clip answers do not really help anyone.  Why not discuss your reasons why?  I would like to get a better picture of why your thoughts are such; otherwise, it leaves everyone going
Oh for God's sake! I said it because it's TRUE.

As I said, I've been an MT for over 20 years.  I worked as an MT in house for a hospital for over 10 years.  I have a standing offer to go back and work for them at ANY time.  The way it is now, I do overflow for them any time they need extra help.  I also have had many of my own accounts other than this hospital over the years.  Yes, HOSPITAL accounts.  Why?  Because I'm a good transcriptionist.  I have had surgery center accounts, hospital ER accounts, overflow accounts doing ops, discharge summaries and ERs, and psychiatric hospital accounts.  I have a couple of doctor offices, but I prefer acute care.  When I got tired of the hassles of my own accounts, I applied with a small national that pays very well and only hires people with lots of experience.  I have worked for them in some form or other, sometimes more and sometimes less, for about 13 years.  When I have heard of something interesting, a job I might be interested in and that I think will pay will, I have applied.  Other than the small national, I have worked for JLG.  I have applied at various transcription companies over the years and was offered jobs by ALL of them, and have been offered good line rates by all of them, but in the end decided to stay with my own accounts and the small national I mentioned above that I have been with for 13 years.  Having been an MTSO myself, I know GOOD TRANSCRIPTIONISTS ARE HARD TO COME BY.  I have severely limited the amount of work I COULD have because of an inability to find QUALIFIED MTs.  I have been absolutely HORRIFIED over the years at what I have seen produced by experienced transcriptionists.

So when I do apply for a job, the MT companies RECOGNIZE that I am a good MT.  Everything I have said is true.  I didn't say they fall all over themselves to hire me for the heck of it - THEY DO!  And if you had my experience, they would if you applied too.  You obviously DON'T or you wouldn't be ridiculing what I am saying.  Anyone who is a truly good MT knows that what I say is true.  If you are good, you are highly in demand.

Oh for Pete's sake. If you are a TH MT, you know
they do not offshore. Some of their accts are on the border which is why the email is that way. TH does not offshore in any way. One of the few left that does not.
    Oh, for heavens' sake! (sm)
If you were at all familiar with DRC, you would know that the current clients REQUIRE all MTs who do their work to be USA-based. Why would the CEO of Acusis spend big bucks to buy a thriving, successful company, then turn around and send the work offshore and lose the contracts that made DRC worth buying in the first place?

Move over, Chicken Little... you've got houseguests for the weekend.
    then for cripe's sake please

volunteer to be reassigned to that account so the posts that distress y'all so much will cease.  Check back with us in a week or two, okay?

    Oh, for Pete's sake

    Oh for pity's sake
There are tons of companies out there not on the board at all - I know because I work for two of them and never see anything negative at all about them. Did it occur to you the one's you see here over and over probably deserve much of the criticism?

    Oh for Pete's sake
It wasn't a dig. Simply a statement because I didn't take her email the way others implied it should have been taken. There were multiple posts by people earlier about MDI going the way of MQ and making all kinds of other statements to damage the company. I was at MQ when that ship started to sink and have seen nothing remotely close to that here. And as far as having compassion for someone with no work, apparently you didn't read all of my post or you would have read that I do understand what they are going through. I went through the same thing, not for a few weeks like the OP, but for 3 months at MQ and it probably would have been longer had I not decided to finally bail out of that mess. So before you decide to judge me or pretend to know what I think or feel, try reading all of my posts. Actually, don't. I'm sure you will just find some other reason to rag on me because I'm not having a horrible time with my company at the moment. To sum up all of my posts: To the OP down below, I'm sorry for your situation, but no, I'm not experiencing the same thing. To the other posters talking about management as if they are in it, unless you actually are in management and can say something factual, shut up. Regarding the message from Carlotta, all I got from that was take your issues up with management instead of hashing them out on a public forum. And to the snot I'm replying to......WHATEVAH!
    oh for Pete's sake!!
they did use Transcriptionist in the body of the ad. Why all the assumptions here anyway. Do they pay on time? Are there any real problems here?
    Oh, Fer Pete's Sake!
She quit her job because she was upset about the use of the word NEED??? For all we know, the person who phrased it in a less than acceptable way was not accustomed to handling bereavement requests - I'd have cut him/her a little slack. I'd have taken that opportunity to *educate* the HR person how to handle future requests with a little more tact, not bit his/her head off and complained all the way to the top of the food chain.

And how is the HR person supposed to know what kind of relationship the OP had with her father? or how emotionally upset the OP was or wasn't?

Bottom line, the OP is out of a job and the rest of the company is going on just fine without her. I think that's called shooting oneself in the foot... all for one little word: NEED. sheesh.

I hope for your sake it is. At MQ, however, when we
were told the new pay rate would allow us to drastically increase our pay, it ended up cutting our pay in half... It sure sounded good though...

I will cross my fingers for you that it will all work out!
Oh, for Lord's sake, fastMT...What's up...
with the racist bashing today? Is it really necessary? My concern is not WHAT anyone puts on their heads, whether it's a bindi or earmuffs, but that Americans' medical records are being sent offshore, to ANY shore.
Oh for Heavens sake! That is old news and all their clients already know about that.
Come up with something new, and maybe people will listen.
Oh for heavens sake! Did it occur to you that maybe she left there for a reason? She
addressed that when she came to Transtech and emphatically that she was not interested in offshoring and they are not going to offshore. Sheesh! She worked for ONE company that offshored and she left that for a reason (didn't like offshore).
Not bragging, for pete's sake. The OP asked about if we run out of work or not. I do not. We a

    Get a grip, people!
My goodness, how much help did you need SM

where you would have to keep evidence, as you say?  Are you someone who needs your hand held throughout the shift?  If so, better work in-house because the at-home deal isn't for you.

You have to work INDEPENDENTLY.  That is what a lot of people don't seem to understand.  If you really have no ability to go through the material you have received and figure it out using common sense, I don't know what to tell you.

Well, thank goodness for that because
you wont be able to meet production on their platform and lack of work!!
Oh my goodness, I too would like to know what co that is.
email me if you want to share :)
Oh my goodness!!! Thank you so much!

    Oh my goodness....
I am absolutely AMAZED at those figures.

I know by the time I started things were already way down from where they used to be, because I know it was fairly common to start at 14+ cpl. Since I've started, my pay has decreased an amazing amount...which is really, really sucky.

I keep hoping it will get better. Funny thing is, when I think I should get out of this business and wonder what I should do...I always think....hmmm, what could I do to make 100K/year. So, you've just completely blown me away that you actually DID make that AS AN MT!! Kudos to you:-)
    thank goodness
    your work on everything
    My goodness
That was uncalled for. Who are you angry at? MTs who are successful or yourself for not being motivated enough to work at home? There are lots of people who need the structure of in-house or need a supervisor breathing down their neck to make them work. MTing is not cut out for everyone.

BTW, a good MT does not have to be glued to their work 24/7 and therefore has time to surf the net or do anything we please!
    My goodness!
It just amazes me how negative this board can be.  I am a partner with Superior, yes.  I have my OWN clients as well (have for years & years).  I do not work with Focus.  There are many people who do not wish to work with these larger companies directly.  I do the best I can to supply work to this industries.  Those of you that do not like it, I'm sorry!  I cannot please everyone, but those of you that do work with me know that I'm fair, honest, and will do whatever I can for my team.  I have not always done this.  I have been with Superior since the end of 2008. So, maybe you should get your information straight before you post things like this.  It really saddens me to see such horrible attitudes on this board when all I'm trying to do is provide work to this industry.  I do not see what is so wrong with that.  If you think the pay rate is too low, then do not look at my job ads.
    Oh, goodness...
Here we go again with the TTD drama.  Everyone here is adult enough to know what they are willing to take and what they aren't.  Why continue trying to babysit people?
    Oh, my goodness.....
    NM
    Thank goodness!!!
I thought that I was the one that was going crazy and trust me, these days that is a great possibility!
    thank goodness...

that people are finally starting to see the light about this company.  when the editors took the hit, a lot of the MTs didn't seem to believe what they were saying.  We knew it was just a matter of time before the truth came to light.

one of the things that really amazed me about those folks is that they seemed to believe that we didn't talk amongst ourselves, so their dirty deeds could be kept a secret until they were screwing everyone.

    surprise.  word's out.

    Thank goodness
Plenty of work, new accounts and new work types on the old accounts. So glad I didn't quit when work was low. My family helped me out because I told them I had faith in TT.
    Thank goodness for these forums!

You're right, they are not the only ones; but my experience was opposite.  More work that a person should be expected to do in one day, worked 14 to 16 hours.  Did not have a choice, had to clear out my que each and every day.  And THEN came the battle of the paycheck!  They, Panhandle, still owe me my last one from over a year ago!

Again, thanks so much for all of the posts on these forums.  I always check here first (don't post much tho) to research a company.  I did submit my resume to Sten-Tel, but thanks to your posts, I'll never apply or accept a position with them.

Oh my goodness! Did this really happen?? nm
    x
Thank goodness - I was beginning
to believe this was a company from hell - according to the other posts.
Oh my goodness! I have to admit that I
honestly am flabbergasted at all the praises TT gets. Its actually so wonderful, yet I admit that I have had my doubts in the past as well, as it is just so completely unheard of in our industry anymore to have a company that is great to work for. I admit, I'm jealous. Though hopefully I can turn my jealousy into a positive and actually push myself to apply for a position with TT. I have thought this over the last few weeks, and then talk myself out of it because I figure its too late - all the positions must be filled. See what spending a lifetime working for a cold huge national can do to one's self-esteem? I need to make changes in 2007, and applying at TT is on the very top of the list! I think I would burst into a river of tears if I even got a card, let alone a gift - anything. I have devoted nearly 20 years to one company, and expect nothing, absolutely nothing. Its sad, isn't it?
Oh, goodness. We WANT MTSOs and others to
    This way open dialogue continues.

If we shut this place up to ONLY having MTs here ... we'll never get any information in/out!

You don't have to like anyone else's posts.

Thank goodness! Someone agrees with me!
Hooray!!!!!!  Someone agrees.  IC's do not work set schedules.  Hello?????  IC's set their own hours to work.  I have been saying this all along.  Companies can get into trouble.  They could actually be held responsible for withholding prior taxes for as many years as they have been making you work set hours.
Thank goodness someone other than me caught that!
    nm
    Goodness, I hope not
Once upon a time, I got a 97 point something or other on a quality review. I was devestated and terribly hard on myself. I have never had a score like that since, thank the Lord.

I seriously do not think they would let you go because of one review under 98%. I do believe this company to be very professional and really do think they would first talk to you about maybe slowing down, giving you tips on better quality rather than just saying well you messed up once, you're outta here.

Please let us know how you make out. :)
Thank goodness, but it's not your fault..
my company has been extremely low too for much longer than the usual seasonal times that occur, keep getting the same just wait, work will pick up emails. Good luck!
Goodness is you work there why not just ask them?

    Thank goodness you're NOT
a business owner. On the one hand, you say you wouldn't give employees free money for doing nothing, and then you advise to build up PTO, which is the same thing. LOL!

And FYI, most other careers do have holidays off and plenty of PTO, it's not just a wonderful fairyland daydream.
My goodness, see how others feel about this
I do the majority of work on Escription and love it. I do not know why you only make 7.00/hr some days but that is just plain insane. I can make almost 3x that much per hour using version 8- you must not be using your time wisely.
Oh my goodness $1.00 a page sm
that is terrible. I made $1.00 a page starting for Transcriptions Limited in 1983!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My Goodness! You'd think it was Friday--sm
today what with every body biting each other's heads off and getting all *snarky* over things that don't really matter. Get a grip you all, have a cold one, and mellow out! geez. some of Y'all are just LOOKIN' for an argument and if you can't get one going, you'll start one! sick *o this stuff. I think most of the people in this thread need a good long ol* fashioned *time out* in the corner!
    thank goodness I don't have a life...
...so I can do that. If I was active and involved in things, I'd be stuck working my schedule only -- and probably not meeting my minimum requirements. That's pretty sad.
    Oh, for goodness sakes! sm
I was not criticizing you for making an omelet. The original poster was complaining about having no work. If I was sitting around with no work, I would find another job, that's what I said. I was in that situation with my former company, found another job. It does no good to complain here about no work, might as well spend the time looking for another job or making omelets if that is what you choose to do. I know we are allowed to take time to eat, but we do not get paid for that time. That's why I end up eating at my desk :)
My goodness how unfeeling can sm
you be? Im sure she isn't being dramatic. Maybe there is no work for her to transcribe or it isnt her shift or whatever. How can you be so judgemental. Anybody can be in that situation. Just because you haven't been there doesn't mean you wont ever be.

Food stamps are not that easy to get. This person may be going through a bad month where the cash just isn't there but it doesn't mean she can get food stamps. If you have a house or a car etc you can't get food stamps or any type of help. Hate to tell you this but the government help doesn't go to the folks who need it necessarily. If you have worked all you life and have a house and a car and just the necessities and come upon bad times for a bit, you cannot get any help from the government. I know that I have been there in the past becasue of sickness.

Now if you are lazy, don't work, have 14 kids by different fathers you can get all the help you need.

I feel sorry for you because folks with your attitude usually find out the very hard way about these kinds of things. It happens every time!
