There are dozens and dozens of posts in the archives. SS
is constantly hiring and it isn't because they are getting tons of new accounts, it is because there is frequent turnover.  That would be enough to keep me away, even without reading the archives.
The issue a union has been mentioned dozens and dozens of times.
Someone else is always expecting someone else to get things going.  Personally I don't want a union and wouldn't join one.    Unions overall aren't very beneficial.  By the time you pay dues and then are out of work because of a strike and only receiving a minimal paycheck you'll wonder why you thought you needed a union.
There are dozens upon dozens of accounts at Webmedx...sm

I posted that you give what you get.  If you give half wages for full editing of very few clear dictators on slow VR with no expander, bad sound quality, and technical problems you're going to get what you give. MTs who aren't high producers will follow along like docile sheep. The high producing, skilled MTs will move on.  VR allows shoddy work that was never acceptable when coming from MTs. The new generation of MTs have accepted that this is the future and aren't accustomed to the strict professionalism of the past. That's just what the MTSO is going to get.

look at how many posts are on this page about t-Tech and what they could answer

I work for them and I have no problems sending an email and getting answers from them.

This is getting worse than Medquist was.

I am getting sick of hearing about them.

Multiple posts everyweek about both. Just look down the page.

Every week a different company has bad posts. The funny thing is that sm

it just goes round and round.  How about doing something about it rather than arguing back and forth.  I think we all can agree that there are good companies and bad companies but that for the most part they are all pretty similar.  Slipping through the cracks?  It happens.  Be the squeaky wheel and call the company.  Obviously they need people if they hire.  Perhaps your resume was stuck to another or your message not written down correctly.  Perhaps you misunderstood something and need to clarify it. Perhaps they misunderstood something and need to clarify it.  If you have chosen to work for a company and did your research, then you have to decide after a month or so if it is the right company for you or not.  Transcription is a very small world and these service owners talk amongst themselves.  They work on making transcription better not how to burn and tick off the next applicant.

Be realistic.  These companies all have good and bad points.  The really bad ones are obvious with the paychecks that do not arrive for months and those that continuously bounce checks and those that rip off their employees with fraudulent line counts.  But the ones that are constantly attacked on here are the ones that have been around for awhile and will continue with or without you.  MQ, Spheris, MDI, Transcend, Transolutions, Keystrokes, Heartland, TransHealth, OSI, Precyse and Cymed are going to continue to hire and fire and have happy MTs and MTs that do not like working for them.  The truly bad ones like XXXX and SS, to name a few, the ones that only have horrible posts are the ones that will fade away.

Exact question asked last week. Read old posts.

TransHealth has dozens of accounts. How can...sm

... you say that All of the accounts are pretty much the same, littered with these horrible ESL doctors.

That's painting a picture with *very* broad brush strokes.  There is no way you can comment on all the accounts at any company.

Horrible ESL doctors have not been my experience at all.

Actually, it is not a MQ account. They have gotten dozens of MQ accounts over the past 5 years thou
The account that everyone is referring to is high ESL, very Hispanic, in Texas. It is not bad once you get used to the doctors. It is huge and difficult but not impossible and not bad.

They also have 4 other new accounts in acute care they are hiring for and 2 other excisting accounts that are growing.

With all I see on other companies not having enough work, I am grateful for Keystrokes. They keep growing and improving and were the best move I ever made!
Not at all. Worked for the NJ company. Used to pay by the page or partial page. Don't know about

Full time with Transtech is both. 40 hours per week and 5500 lines per week.
x
Nope .. email on 1/18 promised "within the next week." Here we are, 1 week later and no info.

The minimum is 5500 per week, NOT 6600 per week. I think you made a typo. :)

Good last week - Slow this week.
I hope this is not an indication of things to come.  I am getting 1,200 lines a day but it is taking me all day to do it.  We seem to be out of work from 9-12 every day this week.  Hope things pick up after Labor Day.
16 hours a week or 8 a week and get
401 K.
Why would anyone work 8 hours a week. The poster above said 16 or 24 hours a week.

I don't see that on their web page

Take a look at the next page (sm)
Maybe the people aren't still there, but they're experiences weren't good. Companies don't change that radically. If there are problems like that, it's because of major philosophical problems in the company. If after reading those posts you'd still want to pursue testing with them, well, all I can say is good luck. I'm sure we'll be hearing from you later.
Pay by the page
Is this good or bad? Does anyone have any experience with this type of pay?
Pay by the page
Thank you. It's $2.50 per pay page on a sliding scale. I do not really understand it and that's why I do not really know what questions to ask. Thanks for the input.
per page

To me it there are too many variables to quote a per page rate, font size, margins, etc.  You can have anywhere from 50 to 66 lines for full page depending on margins and font, so at .012 per line, that is quite a difference.  Also what do you do for 20 or 30 lines,  as they could both be half a page?   That is just my opinion though.   Could work in your favor and could not.  If they use a small Arial 10 font, takes a lot more lines to fill up a page than Courier 12.

I Get $2.75 per page
I type for an insurance company doing claim tapes and I charge by the page. It works out well for me. I type in Tahoma 10. Even if a page is just one line long I get paid the full rate.
i see it a little further down on this page

Pay by the page
How on earth do you charge by the page? I have never been paid by the page but only by the line. Luckily, I found the job through the local paper and they will let me work from home (only 5 minutes away). There is a big psychiatric hospital down there street. Thanks for all of your help. I about gave up on transcription.
Pay by the page
I meant there is a big psychiatric hospital down the street from where I live and they usually charge by the page, but I have never charged by the page, but only by the line. Any suggestions?
by the page
The margins per page are 3 inch on the top and 3 inch left margin. Does that make a difference do you think?
