MT Help

Hi: Do not give up hope!! Just because you have to work at home - does not mean it has to be for peanuts?? First of all, if you have 3+ yrs exp as an MT you can work as an IC for a service and the pay way more than 8 cpl if you are a decent MT. You do not have to deal with VR crap and it is just straight typing. However, being an IC means that you will have to pay for your PC, internet access (cannot use satellite as it is not HIPAA compliant so if the hospital is telling you to work at home and you have to use satellite - they are not HIPAA compliant and you can report them!!) Also, when you work for a service, if you are lucky some of them offer employee status as well as IC status but many do not. However, you will get a better line rate. If you want to vent, let me know I am a former HR Dir for an MT company and am doing the same in the Chicago area - maybe I can help?? KSKeystrokes@aol.com
