I don't know if they offer other options or not.

I'm fine with the coverage - Blue Cross - sm
and somethings are covered w/o going into your deductible. Copays are $20; drug plan; mammos, Paps covered free. However, lab work falls into the out of pocket going to your deductible; ugh.

I love the dental through MetLife.
I think it starts at 90 days; Blue Cross Blue Shield. Delta dental. nm
    .
Any companies have Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance? sm
I am an IC looking for a new job as an employee- need healthcare bad!  Due to a pre-existing condition, Blue Cross has been the only company that will insure me so looking to get them again.  Anyone know of companies that have this?
Yes, per year and it's Blue Cross also.
    xx
    TransTech has Blue Cross nm

    Acusis has Blue Cross.

Heck, I don't care what it costs. It's Blue Cross, sm
accepted everywhere in my area.  Only one of my docs was in the preferred tier with the last insurance and I didn't want to switch so I just paid out of my pocket. I only have myself and the rate is cheaper for me.
I have a single plan with Affordablue with Blue Cross for $184/month. sm

Not sure about the pre-existing conditions clause -- might be a 3 or 6 month waiting period.   I have a $25 co-pay for office visits (5 per year), but $1000 deductible.  If you're relatively healthy and just need well visit checks, it is ideal, but not sure about your situation.

I did find a site:  www.healthinsurancesort.com that might help you.

    Good luck!

Blue Cross medical,Guardian dental, Spectera vision, 10,001 lines per pay period. sm
Cost per pay period for single coverage is $94.36, $1.68 vision, $7.06 dental.  Hope this helps.
BC/BS - single is reasonable and good coverage...
Family is outrageously expensive. I know they are trying to change it, but still expensive.
Dental is thru Metlife (good coverage). sm
Platform is their own, uses ShortHand for expander.
Thanks.. I really needed to have good family coverage.. I guess MDI is out for me.. nm
    nm
No, not Humana. It's First Health. Pretty good coverage.

The current insurance is not bad. The coverage is decent, and they pay which is good. sm
I actually hope that they don't change, but I know that it is a big hassle for the office because they are in the middle. Too big to be individual coverage rates and too small for the best rates. I talked with the HR manager, and she told me that the rates they were given for one company tripled once all the worksheets were in. They based the price on the worst case scenario or worst health. Now they can get a flat rate but only if half of the FT employees sign up. I could here the frustration in her voice when I was talking to her. Insurance companies do not always play fair.
Keystrokes has new insurance (finally) that is reasonable and good coverage. sm
The cost for a single person is $404 per month but they pay 1/2, so it is $202 or $101 per pay check (1st and 15th). I received my papers and card and rx card last week and the coverage is better than the BCBS that I had with others. $20 per visit co-pay, instead of $50.
    A good friend of mine
who has been an MT for 30+ years had to quit Trans Tech because she was not making enough to pay her mortgage.
Mine is good, but there seems to be a lot of commotion
    NM
    Mine's a good balance
If an account is going out of TAT, I'll have an email pop into my cue. If not, it's pretty much minimal contact.

On the other hand, I have a supervisor who is great about just randomly emailing to ask how I am, if I'm still enjoying my account, and asking how everything is going.

It's a nice personal touch I really appreciate.

Everyone has a different definition of good money. Mine is 50K or more.
    x
That's how mine paid - it was a really good deal.
    nm
Good Company, but yes very strict supervisor or mine was anyway! As long as you meet the deadline
you are safe!  They were strict when I was with them though
    cross training
Please call me and I will see what I can do to help you out.
I got one and used it to try out my new cross-cut shredder.

    Worked great!

That's a cross to bear with most co's...sm

This demographic BS, looking up Dr's names, addresses, CCs aud nauseum, etc, etc, is just another sample of MT exploitation we have to deal with these MTSOs, and they practically all do it....ironically, it's the demos/unpaid duties that QA gives you the most flack about.  (The client wants it just so ....if he wants it just so...means client is paying for this service, while we get to do it GRATIS.  They really think we're that dumb ,not to know the difference between paid work and voluntary work, our our gift to their stockholders.

    Cross-eyed from VR
Okay, here is my spill about VR. The way VR is sold to the MTSO is that it is going to be wonderful and save them money. That may be true, because of course they are now paying the MT less per line which means the MT has to do more lines to make the same amount of money. When an MT used to produce 1000 lines a day, she now has to produce 1300. No matter what they say, VR is entirely different than transcribing. It is like playing a piano when someone has messed up the notes on your sheet music and you have to keep up with the band while transposing the notes and playing the correct ones when the wrong ones are written. It is very hard on the eyes and the brain, and is NOTHING like transcribing. If anything, they should pay us MORE as we never get into any zone, can never close and rest our eyes, and basically it is a miserable brain drain. Sometimes I feel like telling them it is like trying to ride a bike with two flat tires -- and you get paid by the mile. Because we refused to unionize we are sunk. To anyone who will listen: Go back to school, MTing is like being on the Titanic.
So, why don't they just cross train?? NM
    x
Cross your eyes and your toes too. :-) The only
than I read but once you get used to it and it learns your particular account, you should be able to do OK with it.  It's picking up more and more all the time, less things you have to fix on certain worktypes but I look at it as job insurance, not displacement.  No matter how they tout this thing, it'll never replace us completely.  And it's good for a laugh now and then.
If you find a company to cross-train in
can you please post the name of the company. I have been wanting to get into radiology. I probably know more than I think I do. However, radiology and medical records transcription were done in separate parts of the hospital, so never got to practice what I learned.

    thanks
I'd have to third that motion. In this biz, I never burn bridges I may have to cross later or sta
on. I do my best to work both until I see how it will work. Trust me, I have seen in only a day if there was potential or not at a new job. You get a feel for support, difficulty of work types, and overall general feel of what this new place is like.  Besides that, when I first came home to do transcription and had to give notice, as this is what i had one previously in the outside world. Boy was I shocked when after giving my 2 weeks notice I found out I was locked out of the account. Apparently, my 2 weeks notice ended NOW....so beware and be cautious.
    Called out of the blue...sm

Have you ever been called out of the blue by a company which you did NOT submit an ap or resume to be offered a job?  Happened to me last night and I was a bit shocked.  It was what you would call a cold call, I guess.  Seemed odd...has anyone had a similar experience?

RE: Called out of the blue...........
If it was from Spheris, RUN LIKE HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLL and don't look back!!!
    spheris out of blue
Was contacted out of the blue by Spheris.  They and MQ will fail.
    spheris out of the blue
One can only hope they fail.
    Blue Meditech
The blue Meditech was the BEST (but it did not have word Expander or spell check). BUT WHO CARES, at that time you could actually get 14,000 lines a week for gross lines... no more with all of the companies not even paying for spaces! Enjoy this platform, I think it is the BEST.
    The blue belts? OMG! sm
I remember those blue Dictaphone belts, too, that the doc wrote on with a white waxy pencil. We're BOTH really old MTs!
    blue team
There are 4 teams, each with different managers, accounts, etc.  I'm on the red team...just curious if I'd run into you!
    I'm on the Blue Team!!!
You'll love our supervisor, she's the best!  QA is pretty good too, though haven't had much dealings with her.  She is very, very fair though and if you ever dispute your score, our supervisor will go to bat for you.  Good luck...I'm sure I'll *see* you there!!!
    Try Blue Hippo
Try www.bluehippo.com  They don't do credit checks and you can get a computer on a weekly payment plan.  I have not used them personally so can't comment there.  You may also want to consider a Rent-A-Center type place.  Good Luck.
I bet you 1 million $$ you won't find one on mine. Mine is
2 years old and it does not have a 9-pin serial port, nor does it have a game port.   I have used both ports on other computers so I know what both ports look like.  I also have a company provided computer and it does have the ports on it.
    Spoken like a true blue
You hang in there, sleep well at night?
Anyone know of Proveros? They sent me an email out of the blue.
    nm
A blue team account is gone
It's been around for a long time but late last week the e-mail said if working on the account to log off now, business with them has now been completed.  People were switched to new primary accounts.  If you didn't work on this account as a primary or secondary, you wouldn't notice a difference in the amount of work obviously.
What in the blue blazes is your problem???

Do you always have to post something negative and childish after every one of Gourdpainter's posts?  I'd say you were using Mommie's PC but the kids are back in school now, so methinks this is one of the vindictive TT management trolls, angry over the fact that even though they sued her for $294.50 for defamation of character, she had the NERVE to keep posting, not properly chastised and slinking away quietly.  So, I suggest YOU GO!  You are really making a fool out of yourself.

Keep up the good fight, GP!!

Look in the blue column on the left- youll see
CONTACTS toward the bottom of the page.  There is an option where you can email MTStars to ask this question.  I'm sure that none of us can answer your question.
Spoken like a true blue manager
Ahh loyalty..... what a wonderful quality. Defend to the end will we UNTIL the table turns on you!
No one has mentioned Blue Choice for Kids
to family insurance. For instance, individual rate is around $37 for an employee. It's adding the *family* that makes it jump sky high. Blue Choice for Kids lets you insure your kid without the parent having the underlying insurance, and rates are around $110 (depending on 3 different options) per month, which comes out to around $50 a pay period. They also give basic dental check-ups, vision, and prescriptions, and doctor visits are around $35 co-pay. I did the math, and my $37 plus $50 for Blue Choice ends up being a lot cheaper than the *family* rate of $200-350 at most companies. I might mention I'm a single mom with 1 kid, so adding just one person makes the rate astronomical. Also, as a warning, I'm not sure Blue Choice is available in all states, so you'll have to check.
WMX question on update this a.m. Little blue box and numbers (sm)

in upper right hand, I think the numbers might be line count, what is the other one in the blue box?

Make sure that it is the Word version not the old blue screen. nm
    xx
I use Wild Blue, no problems here but the companies I work for use FTP
    x
I use Meditech with them, but it is Client Server version. Not the old blue screen! sm
I actually like the program and I really like ShortHand but I converted my abbreviations from another program into there so I did not have to start over.
yes, Blue Fox Software out of Illinois. Microsoft partner, Gold Standard, etc.
they make White Tiger, a business intelligence system, and their top programmer is Tom. I'm sure they can make something very nice for you. Tell them Jo sent you! link below
