Moderator, respectfully submitted, I disagree with you

I am not trying to be this way but I know for a fact I asked before about my other company and it was answered. Since when asking who does so and so work become a privacy issue? If this is the case, every single person that talks about an X, Y or Z business should not be allowed then. Some of the companies are talked about really bad and I do not see their posts coming off or being censored as mine earlier- I did not talk bad language, only asking a question that should have been allowed to stay and not have parts taken out. This is just wrong. I really need no followup on this.

Respectfully disagree...sm
Acute care is a range of a multitude of specialties.  The company needs to know your experience in a particular area to be able to fill these accounts.  If they have OR accounts, they have to know the MT has experience in that field and how much.  In my case, I had indicated my years of experience (a in-hospital account) in Oncology and was hired primarily on that basis.  The account and I fit each other to a T....I loved the account, but had to resign due to company-related issues.

If Transcend cared about employees they would pay more.
I respectfully disagree s/m
Not everyone can get in the zone, no matter how hard they try or how much they educate themselves.  The #1prerequisite is that you must have an ear for it.  Not everyone has it.  Give me 15 minutes with an MT wantabe and I can tell you whether he/she has the ability to be successful.
respectfully disagree
Most MTSOs assign the most difficult dictators to the higher tier(most experienced MTs)--doctors with accents so heavy that all the Internet searches in the world will not substitute for the skilled MT's judgement plus her knowledge gained by years of experience. Internet searches are great for keeping current on surgical equipment, drugs, etc. But the actual quality of dictation is beyond the MT's control, so no, transcription can never be called an ''easy'' job.
I would respectfully use the words "force" or cause to describe....sm
what happens to some (far from all) MTs. I can speak from some experince after more than 16 years. My first job as MT (I was a certified administrative medical assistant and surgical tech before that) was for a new husband-wife team. They were kind, positive, complimentary, approachable....but pay was low. I was promised, continuously, that I would be receiving raises, and although my productivity was superior and work was always well with TAT (and always available for STATS, correspondence, and overtime), I was constantly put off and having to beg; stayed there 2 years. At another point, I was promised to be able to return after maternity leave, but alas, several accounts had left and I was advised to sit tight. The utility companies were not happy with that answer, not the bank with our mortgage. At another point, I had a wonderful hospital job, high pay, great bennies, when the board elected a new chief officer and all transcription except for some of the pathology and most radiology was outsourced. Another company, two years down the road, great pay, very happy, worked tons of overtime, always there, and they sold out to a huge conglomerate and only told the MTs when it was a done deal. A great national, down the road, hired to have one primary, perhaps one or two secondary accounts...one year later, I am transcribing for SIX different hospital accounts and was so looking up doctor lists and all kinds of hospital account information that I had to work 12 hours (with two toddlers at home) to make about 5 hours of pay, and I was eating and practically sleeping at my computer. And I know, from keeping in touch with MTs over the years from all states, all differing situations, that many honest, hard-working, intelligent MTs are getting much the same treatment and MORE. (I only gave some of my highlights here). Yes, I have been very happy at times, but it never seemed to last, and I never intentionally hopped. Most MTs hate it, the test taking, the interviews, the phone calls, the e-mails, the searching, the worries...I think intentional job hoppers are probably in the minority, but that is just my opinion. I love this field, but I have come close to leaving it so very many times and using other parts of my college education and training....call me a sucker for punishment, I just enjoy the learning, the challange, and the fascination of medical science from all perspectives. Please, give MTs some of their dignity back, how many other fields have gone 15 years with hardly a 2 cent per line change, while continuously upgrading references, equipment, ISPs, continuing education, etc??? Only my opinion.
I actually submitted my resume - sm
And heard back within 10 minutes via telephone. With 1 little one not in school yet, flexibility is the most important thing to me right now. I think they sound great!
I was contacted the day after I submitted...sm
my resume by one recruiter with a couple of questions about my experience with ESLs and operative reports, then received another e-mail from a different recruiter the following day to schedule the formal interview.
I submitted mine
on 9/30 and haven't heard back yet.
Nevermind...already submitted. nm

OMG! Did you see that pic she submitted that time to the newsletter

of all shapes,sizes . . . .

classy

email again just stating you submitted
your resume about 10 days ago and have not heard anything as of yet for testing. They will get back to you very shortly then.
Never heard of it, but submitted a resume.

How long from the time you submitted
your resume until they called you?
I just submitted an application to them. Can you give details? nm
nm
I submitted my resume thinking they represented
companies who didn't want to post on the boards and that I could get a better line rate.   They represented one company to me that advertises here all the time.  I had already been offered a position with this company and turned it down, which I told TM about and they said well they sometimes can get a better rate, but they didn't.  Their testing was a joke.  I didn't test with owner, but with an airhead.  After turning down the offer a second time I never heard from them.  Going through TM just requires an additional interview and an additional test, as you still have to interview/test with the company.   I submitted my resume and within 2 days had interviewed and been contacted by the company they were recruiting for.
Has anyone heard from this company that submitted a resume?
nm
Actually test was required when I submitted my resume sm
so maybe they were inundated and their system broke down or something and you were not required to test?
Paid twice a month, with invoices submitted on the 16th and the 1st. sm

Until now, there was no set pay date, but an email today stated that the funds wold be released within 5 business days, and they are working on having it done within 3 days.

Regardless, it is still quicker than any place else I have been paid.  At another place, the pay period ends the same, but I am not paid until the 8th and the 23rd, and then it is by check, not direct deposit (Cardioscribes pays via direct deposit.)

At my full time job, the pay period ends on Sunday at midinght, and I am not paid until a week later on Monday.

So, even though it is a bit different not having a specific date to call payday, I still am paid quickly and have no issues with it, but then again, I only work part-time.  The people there are great, and it is cardiology clinic work, so it is a nice change of pace for me compared to acute care.

Hope this helps.

OK, where's the moderator on this one?
Not OK - I think you should be banned. This language is COMPLETELY uncalled for. Cut it.
The moderator said....

post nicely and all I read here in this thread are personal attacks....sure sounds and looks like stalking to me.

Not that anyone asked my opinion and I'm just adding  my 2 cents after just finding this website 2 days ago.  All bulletin boards are the same - they get real nasty, unfortunately.

Personally, I don't see how personal attacks on how someone left a former company is productive or conducive to learning on these bulletin boards.  Posting people's personal info on whether they were fired or not should also not be allowed.

Moderator..
Please delete duplicate post. Don't know how that happened. Thanks.
MODERATOR HELP PLEASE

Has it been confirmed by the company on this board that they are offshoring work?

I am still not sure if I should go with them or not.

To Moderator
Is there any way to do a search on this board and come up with the more recent posts?  Whenever I do a search, I  come up with posts as of 7-8 months ago and then older, and I know there are posts from just a week ago.  Am I doing something wrong, or is there no way to include the most recent posts (up to within the last few days) in a search.  TIA.
FOR MODERATOR
I'm sorry - I meant to post this under MQs forum - can you move please?  sorry about that.
The moderator (nm)
Half the board is taken up with employees and insiders' posts... but then again I don't really care :)
Um, that's moderator... nm

MODERATOR
I feel this is an appropriate section for this because it is aimed towards companies that outsource but also includes political views to try and influence the reader to look for companies that do not outsource. I believe it could also be posted on a separate page to cover the political view, but this is aimed to grab the reader's attention with the aim towards American companies that do not offshore.
Well moderator, I think she knows to look there, duh!
She is looking for some recommendations of good companies. Geesh!
TO THE MODERATOR

Whoever this person is posting as SoftScript management and posting such derrogatory remarks about people should be banned from posting here.  If that person does truly work for Softscript, she is definitely hurting them, and if she doesn't, well....she is definitely hurting them.  I do not, nor have I ever worked for SS, but I find her comments to other people totally out of line and extremely offensive.  Please consider this.

Now where's the moderator
They've got another posting up there now looking for someone in their Bangalore office, which is a bit of a commute for a US based transcriptionist.
Thank you moderator
Thank you for the explanation.
The Moderator said...
that MTStars can provide the information through a court order.  Whether that is the case, I have no idea nor do you, I imagine.  Either way, the bottom line is that they apparently know who posted what and there is a lawsuit.
Given the name Moderator...
Wow! I must have hit a nerve with you. You are really bent out of shape about being told off, aren't you? You even went to the extent to E-mail someone and beg to have your post closed so you could have the last word. What a goof you are. Ha ha ha!
Seems it's the moderator's perogative.
After all, it's their board, not anyone else's. As long as it's done fairly and consistently for all issues for all companies, I don't have a problem with it myself. Even if it isn't, I have the choice to view and participate, or not. We all have that right.

This moderator doesn't have to play by anyone's rules but their own, and the popularity of this board speaks to the success of how they've handled things so far. I've had a post or two pulled in the past and, in retrospect, I'm glad it was done. I'm not perfect, and at times I get angry at some of the ignorant, hate-filled posts. My posts have probably been pulled as a part of the whole hate-mongering post's thread and that's really just fine. If some information that was "valuable" is lost to the public at the same time, well, so be it.

Also, sometimes "negative" posts not only are negative, they are downright ugly and nasty.

I have to agree with a poster a while back that, if you don't like what you see (or don't see) on a given board, there are plenty of places to create one of your own.

Mr./Ms. Moderator pleeeeeeze!!!
Have you gone on vacation or just thrown up your hands and given up on trying to keep this crap off here????!!!!  Looks like things have gotten waaaaay out of control.  Guess it's obvious you can't get through to the people determined to act like idiots on here, so why try?
Huh? Moderator, what's your opinion? (sm)
I don't see what's wrong with what I posted.  I didn't give out personnel names or account names.  I don't see the big deal.

If it's improper, fine, delete it.
Moderator: Can you require sm

ads to give a company name as well as IC, statutory or employee status??  Would make things much clearer and simpler.  Thanks, MomMT

Moderator - How can I e-mail you? nm

n

I agree moderator
The subject is off-shoring - a persons, race, beliefs, age, quality, experience, etc is not the issue. Stick to the point, I do not want offshore not just because I lose income, but because I do not want my information sent half-way around the world to India, China, Vienna, Mexico etc - The US needs to keep our earning potential, information, and growth within our borders - we do enough overseas and across borders for our foreign neighbors - technology, money, troops - I do not need them in my GYN visit too. So whether you are red, white, or blue, brown, yellow or orange - if you are a US citizen - I stand behind you, and want the work kept here. Lets effect a change, not animosity. One pays off, the other does not.

Moderator, can you please email me?
thanks.
I just reported this ad to the moderator
All job posters MUST post the company name according to the note from the moderator on the job board.
moderator...just curious, but why
was the rest of this post deleted?  I was hoping to get more info.
Moderator, please take note
The jobs board is totally cluttered with Focus ads, breaking that 2 ads rule.  I understand wanting to keep the board full of ads, but they don't need to repost over and over.
hey Moderator - INDIA has a job ad. NM

MODERATOR--HE'S BACK..
Dr. Saroj Bobde is back on the job seeker board

Dear Moderator..
Unfortunately, that is the norm here lately.. I don't know how it got so bad here, but there is so much bashing, it is uncomfortable to post here most of the time. Just my opinion. I know that the political section has a ton of bashing and that the moderation is kept at a minimum but there seem to be certain posters who continually flame other posters- and they just keep on doing it. It isn't opinion it is flaming. My opinion.
MODERATOR.......I realize all sm
opinions should be welcome here, but LMAO is just cruel beyond words. Are these the kind of posts that mtstars really want on here? Just cruelty to people who are down and out?

LMAO poster is a very cruel and scary poster. If you have any sympathy at all, could you please stop her?
