I once had an e-mail account for which the mail server would sometimes deliver stray mail to me even if the address was not exactly mine. It would apparently look through its database of addresses and if it did not find the exact address it was looking for it would send the mail to the address that most closely matched it. That was several years ago and I actually think it might have been Yahoo but not for sure.
