1100-1400 lines/day?...sm
Try getting your facts straight before you decide to shoot down a company. Keep on wandering and you may find some unlucky company who would love to have your attitude.
Pay 8 cpl w/spaces for 1100 lpd, 8.5 cpl for 1400 lpd. nm

Pay offered last year was 8 cpl/w on 1100 lpd. Some posters said they lost all their good accts

Are some of their production bonuses tied to the amount of work to QA. I wasnt sure about that. I
think that must be a different bonus.

I heard ex-SPi emps sued SPi and won

I heard that ex-employee(s) has/have sued SPi in the past and won.  Does anyone know anything about this and/or where I can get more info and the full details?

Not going to go into more detail. Current emps. should have noticed. nm

Only former CyMed emps got their info stolen, right?
This has only happened to SPi employees who were former Cymed folks, right? I haven't heard of any SPi employees getting the letter...Anyone have confirmation or know otherwise?
Only FT and must get 1100 lines for the PP. .sm
Only the above.  If you fall below the 1100 minimum for the pay period, you lose out on both PTO and internet reimbursement.  I'm nott there any more, but was there 2+ years, first  on FT who couldn't quite get up to the 1100 lines (guess why? combination of little/no work at the time as well as lousy 99% ESL account. So then I literally got pushed into PT status, where I had to pay everything and watch everyone else get PTO and their ISP reimbursed but still made lines close to FT but took twice as long.  Nice deal, huh??
1400 lpd over 10 days? How easy is that to do with all the ESLs there? nm

I don't push like I did years ago - I usually get about 1300-1400 (sm)
If I push, I can get about 1600.
In 2005, they were offering 8 cpl up to 1400 lines a day. Over that,
s
Sorry - yep 1100 per day or 5500 per pay period

1100 lines in 40 hours, must be the -- sm
dictator(s) of our dreams!  And this is just for actual transcription, but what part of the 40 hours does the other work fall into, the demographics, emails, look-ups, re-dos, re-listen, twiddling thumbs while doc is asleep or browsing the charts, etc.
ETrans doesn't hit 9 cpl until you're at 1400 lines a day. nm
s
even if you are only doing 1400 lines a day at 8 cents a line that is still $15 an hour...

How many jobs are you going to get outside of the home making $15 an hour, especially in this economy and most parts of the country?  That is only 175 lines an hour and most nationals expect at least 150 an hour, so that is not that much of a push.  If you do 200 lines an hour, or 1600 lines a day, look at the raise and that is $16 an hour.  This is also only making 8 cents a line, which by the time you are making over 1300 lines a day you probably are getting some sort of incentive, at least a lot of companies you do, and that would push this number up even more.

I used to be a graphic designer for many years and to this day pay for a good designer is only $12 to $14 an hour and you have to commute to the job, so how is it not realistic to make this type of money.  I do not see where your logic is and if you are making so bad then maybe it is time to re-look at your profession and find something that is more a fit to you and make the money you deserve.  I just do not see how making a minimum of $14 an hour is so unrealistic.  Geez.

No flyer, but in 2005, they were only paying 8 cpl until you hit 1400 lpd. Any mention of

I feel lucky if I get 1100 lines a day. I was doing sm
at least 1500 a day on DocQscribe.
1100 lines a day which is EASY to meet sm
I am fairly fast, but I got that 1100 on MY VERY FIRST DAY!!!

Lines are easy to get and I have so much work, it is unreal. I can and want to go all day and past it. I still have 4.75 hours to make up this week, but the work is holding at a high level and they are so low stress, I am not tired right now after 9.5 hours today, just want a break for a bit and a hot meal, then back to it.

I can't say enough good things about this place, I just can't.
Not by the line but 1400-1500 radiology reports. 2-1/2 years. nm
nm
When there is a lot of work, do you find it hard to make 1100?
cause I sure do.
8 hrs & 1100 lpd have to occur for FT benes. FT pay 8.5 cpl. People have had trouble with paychecks

1100 lpd for FT, good sound quality, ExText software, LOTs of ESLs..nm

I average 1200-1400 lines per day with a national, and am only getting around 600-800 lines per day.
It's been this way since the day before Thanksgiving. I've been doing this for almost 30 years now, and more often than from Thanksgiving until the new year is the slowest time of the year. I have some months where I am swamped with up to 2000 lines per day. I stash that little extra money, and take advantage of a handful of extremely slow days this time of the year to actually cook dinner, decorate for Christmas, or do Christmas shopping. I actually anticipate this slow time every year and have grown to enjoy the breathing time. Any time I have attempted to pick up extra work with another company to supplement these slow times, the minute I get adjusted to the new accounts, etc. I have no time to finish all of my work because my full time job with national gets slammed again. Hang in there if you can, and hopefully your work will pick up significantly around New Years.
NO BONUSES

Bonuses
You missed the point completely. This is a profitable MT service with over 600+ MTs. There is nothing thoughtful at all about sending an item that cost less than $4 (no exageration on that figure by the way), with no letter of recognition, no Happy Holidays, no nothing. It certainly sent a message to me of how much they valued the job I did this year for them. Furthermore I have gotten very inexpensive gifts in the past from both large and smaller MTSOs that were not expensive but thoughtful and totally appreciated, so please do not interpret this strictly as a money issue.
Bonuses
One very nice bonus from some local docs I take care of. One extremely tacky cheap bonus from my main employer. While I don't think anything is owed, and did not even expect anything, I am struggling with the fact that this was absolutely insulting.
bonuses
Once in a blue moon they will offer a bonus if an account is in severe backlog, but no regular incentive bonuses. They already pay pretty well, so I'm not too concerned about production bonuses.
Why would they pay bonuses when they don't pay OT?

Bonuses
Too many people such as you tend to feel they are ENTITLED to a bonus no matter what the economy is. You should be very thankful that you even have a job (even one you complain about at every opportunity) when so many people are so much less fortunate than yourself.
If you are statutory they take out SS tax only. (sm)
In this instance they took everyout out but.
Statutory or IC?
Statutory is different than IC - I haven't seen much in the way of statutory, but I just had a job offer today, GOOD offer, too - from Oracle, and it's IC. I'm leery about going IC all the way, but then again - why not? There are no guarantees anywhere, and my husband says we do much better tax-break wise with IC than employee status.
Statutory or IC
Hey, I just had an offer from them today too.. Maybe we can chat? I didn't get my paperwork yet in email. Did you?
Statutory of IC
Oh I talked to her today and she is sending my paperwork, so if you had not accepted, then you probably wont' get any paperwork.
Which is better, statutory or IC
and why?
everybody is statutory.sm
Good company, sometimes too much work, sometimes not enough, just like everywhere else. Lanier accounts are pretty much like any other account, work is work.
Statutory?
If a company does not take out state income taxes does that mean the Transcriptionist is statutory?
mdi-md statutory
I am looking for the right web address for mdi-md of Maryland that hires statutory.  I only found a web site that comes up as trans-mdi (i think that was the right format) but anyway I just want to make sure of the correct address.  I have a feeling this website is the the correct one.  TIA.
Is it truly IC or statutory?

There is a difference.  Employers pay the SS tax on statutory employees; IC's are responsible for all the taxes.

I applied with 3 MTSOs not too long ago (about 4 months).  Two of them were statutory status and the other was employee status.  The 2 SE's offered me 9.5 and 9 cpl to start.  The ES offered me 8 cpl with benefits.

There are many things to consider besides just a starting cpl when choosing an MTSO.  For me, flexibility and reliability of work flow was more important than a little more per line.  I ended up with the MTSO that paid 9 cpl because I don't need the benefits.

I have seen some IC's on these boards say they make 11 cpl and up.  I think a lot of those IC's are truly IC's, contracted by local hospitals, etc.  I'm sure there are SE's that make that as well, I just don't know too many that start out at more than 10 cpl these days.

Statutory ?

What is statutary exactly?  They just take out FICA/Medicare, not federal or state and you still do a schedule C? I have to find another job as where I work now we just lost a big account with no notice.  Last day is tomorrow.

Statutory
The IRS website has good information about statutory versus IC.
Statutory
Nor Cal MT, we are statutory employees, not IC, and I think you spend too much time on this board putting out info that is not accurate.
Quarterly bonuses
Are the quarterly bonuses still being offered for SE's and what about the SE's who have been here for years??
