QA

In Reply to: QA point of view - I am QA

I, too, am QA and I am just *amazed* at the poor quality of work coming from transcriptionists with 10+ years. Punctuation is a definite weakness and I can't understand where that's coming from unless schools are no longer emphasizing that. Not proofing work is another problem I'm seeing. Some MTs seem to be perfectly comfortable with inserting a blank(s) and sending a report to QA to *fix.* Some MTs just do not seem interested in doing the research or even using a spellchecker to make sure a report is as complete as possible before sending to QA. Where's the pride in the MT's work nowadays? The MTs feel picked on, but it's my job to make sure a report goes through to the client free of error or blank. I, too, offer in-depth summaries with hints/suggestions and references, but I'm starting to believe that they are never read. Sad.
