Transcend Services Inc Confirmation of offshoring?

Has it been confirmed by the company on this board that they are offshoring work?

I am still not sure if I should go with them or not.

Wow! See inside for confirmation about Transcend' s

intentions to offshore in a big way.

Jeff McKee, Senior Vice President of Sales and Support Services, added: We made substantial progress in outsourcing work to two offshore partners during the third quarter, sending over 900,000 lines of transcription work overseas in September. While this is still a relatively small percentage of our business, it gives us an improved ability to allocate resources to meet turnaround times, especially at night. Our offshore efforts should have a measurable impact on our gross profit as a percentage of revenue in 2007.

Re: Transcend offshoring
They sent out a newsletter and e-mail to employees stating that they were doing the pilot thing, as mentioned earlier. They have been very up front about it, so I don't think they would have a problem with confirming what they've told their employees. Supposedly only 50 reports a day to start with in order to test the waters. They say it's for the sake of being competetive in the business. Just the facts as I know 'em, maam.
Transcend offshoring is true.
Transcend is offshoring to India.  They called it just a test.
RE: Transcend offshoring is true.
Transcend is not outsourcing any work to anyone at this time. The individual who stated this ought to get their information correct before they state it as fact.
Transcend is expanding their offshoring

They bought TRS a few months ago and according to this article, they are very interested in the offshoring TRS does:

*Transcend is very interested in the work TRS is doing with overseas
transcription training in places like Barbados*

The MTSOs will hire cheap wherever they can now.

Barbados?  Whoda thought?

The reason Transcend is offshoring is because no one here wants to work for them! nm

TRANSCEND SERVICES INC
Transcend Services Inc is the company.  Employees are saying that they are offshoring but there has been no confirmation of this.  Could you confirm this for us?  I think they have an ad up in the Job Seekers board and I am confused.  Thank you for your help.
Transcend Services does....sm
and they just gave out holiday gift cards to the employees!
Transcend Services
I have a question about Transcend.  I used to work for them and am thinking about going back, but I've heard through the grapevine that they are sending 3/4 of their work to India--can anyone confirm this?  I only work for American companies who deal with only American workers.  Thanks for your help.
Transcend Services
Any new information on Transcend? TIA
Transcend Services
Does anyone work for or have any information on Transcend Services.  How are they to work for, pay, etc.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Transcend Services
Hi Patty - I have worked for Transcend for almost 3 years and am now a team lead. I have always found the company to be very fair in both pay scale and employee relations. They are very open to discussion about almost anything. I would say go for it. Email me if you would like. Sue

How is the work at Transcend Services?  is there a steady workload?  Are the managers helpful and the platform good to work on?  Was thinking about applying.

Thank you.

Transcend Services doesn't offshore....

Transcend Services Positives and Negatives

Positives and negatives?

I had been offered QA for Transcend Services and MXSecure...sm
but declined both. MXSecure took forever to check my references, etc...plus I believe they outsource and when questioning the guy, he denied it but their website says so.  So, that turned me away from them.  Transcend Services offers QA for voice recognition.  I was unfamiliar with that and their process, but they sent me equipment quickly and they seemed friendly, but turned them down.  They both had a production quota.  MXSecure's seemed a bit high; Transcend Services seemed more reasonable.  Hope this helps.  This is just what they had told me.  No real experience, though, with working for either.  Good luck!
Transcend Services bought MDI for $16.2 million.

I didnt realize it was that much!  No wonder they feel no loyalty to their old MT's!  ,,,everybody has a price I guess.

The $16.2 million purchase price consists of $10.2 million in cash payable at closing (less any existing indebtedness assumed and plus or minus certain working capital and tax-related adjustments), $2.0 million in cash payable after receipt of interim financial statements and audited financial statements for the last two fiscal years, a $2.0 million note payable to the selling shareholder due one year after closing, and $2.0 million of Transcend common stock (119,940 shares). The initial cash portion of the purchase price is expected to be funded using a combination of cash on hand and up to $7.0 million in bank term debt.

Larry Gerdes, Chief Executive Officer of Transcend, said, MDI's strong presence in the mid-Atlantic region significantly expands Transcend's national footprint. We are confident that MDI's culture of excellence and total commitment to customers and employees will help ensure the success of this transaction. We look forward to working together to integrate our operations over the next several months.

I recognized that we needed a larger partner to achieve our long-term growth objectives, said MDI Chief Executive Officer Dorothy Fitzgerald. A critical concern for me was to find a partner that recognized MDI's potential and was committed to providing excellent customer service. I am convinced that Transcend is the best partner for MDI, its employees and customers.

Sue McGrogan, Transcend's President and Chief Operating Officer added, I have known Dorothy Fitzgerald for years. Like me, Dorothy is committed to outstanding customer service, which is reflected in her high customer retention rates. In her new role, Dorothy will be President of our MDI subsidiary. She will report to Leo Cooper, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, in order to focus on driving future growth, particularly in the mid-Atlantic region.

SOAP Transcription and Transcend Services? Need to decide.

Got job offers from both.  Pay and benefits look to be about the same.  Anyone work(ed) for either or have worked for both?  Good, bad, or any other comments regarding either company?

How is the family health plan with each?  Cost? Coverage?

Thanks.

Can anyone give me information on Transcend Services Voice Recognition editors? sm
I was offered a job with them.  Curious as to how good their benefits are, how easy the program is, and if the dictations are REALLY awful or just as any others.  Any input on anything to do with the company and/or information on Voice Recognition editors would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance!
Confirmation
Yep, that is the company and the files are huge.
You can also see more confirmation of that...
as well as some of the other current biggest companies that offshore in this PDF document (open or save with Adobe Acrobat), page 10.

btw, in this list, ''vendor'' = MTSO, ''provider'' = healthcare provider/client contracting with the vendor MTSO.

Fatcat - Thank you for the confirmation
I strongly suspected Transcend offshores a great deal of their work.

So much D and all of her 'integrity,' eh?

And to think we all starved and hoped for the best, and they ignored our pleas and the entire time were selling us down the river to India.

But then, you and I...we saw this coming, didn't we girlfriend? About a month ago, I believe. ;-)
I just paid over $8 to ship a foot pedal back to eTransPlus w/ DELIVERY CONFIRMATION..sm
They hired me, sent me a foot pedal, and right before I was to start, my company made me an offer I couldn't refuse. So to keep from burning a bridge in the future with eTransPlus (who were super nice about the whole thing), I sucked it up and spent the $8. It will be well worth it in the future if I ever need to seek future employment with them. I do want to add that I shipped the pedal back with DELIVERY CONFIRMATION. It costs about .50, but allows the sender as well as receiver to track the item. Well worth it!

Transcend bought MDI, so if Transcend sends work offshore, so does MDI. nm
nm
We heard Transcend is buying Keystrokes next. I'm not working for Transcend. No Way !
nm
If MDI-FL is owned by Transcend and Transcend admittingly offshores, sm
then doesn't that make MDI a company that offshores? That's like saying that one branch of a company offshores but another does not, so they are excluded from the offshore label. If MDI-FL is part of Transcend and Transcend offshores, that means that they do.
RE: If MDI-FL is owned by Transcend and Transcend admittingly offshores, sm
Your hypothesis is incorrect. MDI is a wholly independent subsidary of Transcend, therefore, they were not a part of the experiment to offshore to evaluate cost/benefit ratio that Transcend only tried for 90 days (I believe the evaluation process is not still ongoing).
No offshoring either. nm

Offshoring
Could someone define offshore "big time." When I worked for them I was told they have a company in the Philippines that they send work to, strictly some low priority government disability stuff. Their platform is great and the people I worked with were also wonderful to work for. I left for a personal reason but would not hesistate to recommend them, IF you can get a comparable line rate to make up for the spaces. Again the platform is very productive and they do pay for headers so that helps.

OSI offshoring - sm
Ask the recruiter when you speak to her. I know the offshore, I was working there when the news broke, and they are still doing it. Go ahead...ask. This is not sourgrapes, but fact.
Offshoring

Nah their govt would never bite the hand that feeds them.  They would beat it out of their own citizens instead.  That is the great thing about America, at least it is somewhat fair?  We like to think it is the same in other countries but if it were they wouldn't be working for us in the first place.  The only ones that can put a stop to this is us.  You have to VOTE! Not for President but for all the little guys that have the power to keep the big P from allowing things we hate.  Okay enough from me I have to go and type while I still have a job.

Offshoring
They own OSi and denied offshoring to India until they were caught several times. They are now banned from advertising on MTStars. They are promoting at OSI and focusing their attention on their new company in Tampa. Very low key. Be very careful about any comments here or the posts will be removed.
offshoring

Really, people, it is the folks in our country, you know, the good ol' U.S.A. who are selling us short, so don't get angry at India for taking jobs. Well, that would be a way of airing your prejudices. That's weak.

Truly sorry about your loss, MTLittle.

offshoring
Sorry, Little MT.
Might as well get used to offshoring. It's everywhere,
and Spheris didn't help by proudly announcing their new offices in India and give carte blanche to the rest of the online companies to follow suit.

It's here, and probably to stay. Our largest nationals do it, our medium size nationals are doing it, and our smaller privates are doing it. No getting around it.

If you swear you will never work for an offshoring company, you will probably have to eat your words one day. That or go hungry until you can re-educate yourself and find a new career.

I would venture to guess that there are many MTs here working for offshoring companies who know it and won't admit it. There are many more who work for offshoring companies and probably don't know it.

Bottom line, you are going to have a mighty long list, and it will grow daily. Good luck.
Offshoring
I own aing serious. MTSO  and we do not offshore. We have been against it for sometime. However, we are having trouble getting a reliable workforce. Seems every Transcriptionist has 3 PT jobs. We pay between 7.5 and 9.5 cpl and have tons of work. I for the first time talked to my partner about offshoring. We may hold out as long as possible.
Offshoring
In some cases, though, offshoring has indeed been the downfall of manual transcription. I work in a very large medical center, and the offshoring with direct link to EMR has eliminated all in-house transcription. It's a combination of technology and economics that is making manual MT obsolete.
Yes, she has the right and they are offshoring now (sm)
Everything the above poster said was true.  I'm not there anymore either.
Is OSI still offshoring?

TIA

I do not know about offshoring
but they do outsource. I worked for a company and did their (OSi's) work; I guess it was overflow.
