Transcend sends all the good work to India and leaves all the
garbage for the MTs in the States so they can keep the indian slime working. n donkeys are that do the work. Transcend is not a good place to work
I thought Transcend did not offshore work.
x
Merry Christmas to you too! I think it is great that Transcend sends out gift cards to employees.
I wonder how many other companies do that. Let's see, with over 1000 transcriptionists that is 25,000.

Again, thank you Transcend!
Transcend pays 3 cents per line on holidays, plus sends a handwritten card to all
employees. I have worked for many companies and I have never seen a company that cares as much as Transcend.

E-mail me if you'd like more information.
I believe Transcend bought MDI?
s
Do you think that MDI is the same since they were bought by Transcend? sm
I have thought of going back (left a few years ago and took a few years off after having twins nine months after another baby) but I am worried about that. I have a friend who works there and she is complaining a lot, but she tends to be a complainer so I am not sure what to do.

I also was on clinic notes and prefer radiology. Maybe they are doing more rad. I do remember seeing that they were paying a sign-on bonus.

I am just looking for some answers before I make the wrong move.
There is only one MDI now (MDI-MD). The other MDI in FL was bought by Transcend. nm
x
They were bought by Transcend. nm

Transcend bought MDI-Florida....sm
I haven't heard of MDI in Georgia.
No communication. They were bought out by Transcend and it has sm
not been good. I used to love working there but now hate every minute of it. I think that they sold out.
Unfortunately. Transcend bought MDI Florida and now it is as
bad as Transcend.  Was the best company out there when it was a smaller privately owned company and Liz was in charge.
MDI-MD? Weren't they bought by Transcend?
x
Transcend bought MDI for 16 million. sm
So I guess they have to make some of that money back. I am pretty discouraged too as I have heard absolutely nothing from Transcend about what my pay is going to be. Guess does not look too good right now since they cut pay for their existing employees. Never been able to get a straight answer about the range of what I will be making, so assuming that means it will be low.
Medware not only sends work offshore, but has offices in Bangalore to train MTs there.nm
xxx
Transcend BOUGHT MDI, you make it sound like
MDI is actually running Transcend. Liz is expendable if she does not do her job. Liz et AL might own stock in Transcend, but I doubt that they own the controlling interest.

However, neither company has the MT's best interest at heart. They are paying to have dictation by easy dictators done by voice recognition and making sure the rest of us are left with the horrible dictators they have on most of their accounts. I used to think JLG had the lock on bad dictators, but MDI and Transcend have made JLG look good.
Don't you think it's strange that they were bought by Transcend but still call themselves MDI?
When you talk to them, it is MDI this, MDI that, but when you ask about Transcend it become Transcend this, Transcend that. I know that Transcend has contacted a lot of companies and seems to be the next MQ in terms of gobbling up companies. Who's next?
Which is it? No changes since bought by Transcend or lots of changes? It seems that every time sm
someone says that there have been a lot of changes, someone comes on and says there have been no changes. Is this one person saying this? Obviously there have been changes, there would have to be with a new owner.
Transcend Services bought MDI for $16.2 million.

I didnt realize it was that much!  No wonder they feel no loyalty to their old MT's!  ,,,everybody has a price I guess.

The $16.2 million purchase price consists of $10.2 million in cash payable at closing (less any existing indebtedness assumed and plus or minus certain working capital and tax-related adjustments), $2.0 million in cash payable after receipt of interim financial statements and audited financial statements for the last two fiscal years, a $2.0 million note payable to the selling shareholder due one year after closing, and $2.0 million of Transcend common stock (119,940 shares). The initial cash portion of the purchase price is expected to be funded using a combination of cash on hand and up to $7.0 million in bank term debt.

Larry Gerdes, Chief Executive Officer of Transcend, said, MDI's strong presence in the mid-Atlantic region significantly expands Transcend's national footprint. We are confident that MDI's culture of excellence and total commitment to customers and employees will help ensure the success of this transaction. We look forward to working together to integrate our operations over the next several months.

I recognized that we needed a larger partner to achieve our long-term growth objectives, said MDI Chief Executive Officer Dorothy Fitzgerald. A critical concern for me was to find a partner that recognized MDI's potential and was committed to providing excellent customer service. I am convinced that Transcend is the best partner for MDI, its employees and customers.

Sue McGrogan, Transcend's President and Chief Operating Officer added, I have known Dorothy Fitzgerald for years. Like me, Dorothy is committed to outstanding customer service, which is reflected in her high customer retention rates. In her new role, Dorothy will be President of our MDI subsidiary. She will report to Leo Cooper, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, in order to focus on driving future growth, particularly in the mid-Atlantic region.

What did you expect when Transcend, the leader in overstaffing, bought them?
x
I worked for a lady's service who was bought out by Transcend
a few years ago and they offered her a position in the home office. She sold, had the job for a few months and then she was terminated. I know for a fact that Transcend said in a paper article in the Atlanta Journal and Constitution that they outsourced because could not find enough American MTs to do the work. Now what I find surprising is how many complain on here about sitting and waking for work for Transcend. Wonder how that happens?
When Transcend bought the company I worked for we were told they did not do IC, just PT/FT... sm
so this is news to me!  Maybe they allow different things for different companies they buy.  I also understood a little while after the merger that all accounts would move over to their platforms, but now I am reading that maybe not all of them did with other mergers.  I am sorry you all are going through this!  I remember how it was thrown on us so quickly too.
Transcend always sends a nice handwritten card and a gift card
I just got my card today, and it is still five days before Christmas.

You really cannot please all the people all of the time, even when it comes to gift giving. I am so surprised at some of these comments.

Merry Christmas to all!
Transcend does not offshore.
There are a lot of companies who do offshore and I understand the frustration, but please check your facts before you post.  Transcend does not and has not ever offshored any of their work.
MDI does not offshore, Transcend does

I really like MDI .

Does Transcend offshore?
x
So it's true that Transcend is going to offshore.
Otherwise she would have denied it, right?
keystrokes does not use offshore help, transcend
uses it a lot- one day you have work, the next day its slim pickins' - and you are left holding no paycheck. Transcend is ruthless and cares nothing about its MLS. It is just there for the dollar and you have to slave over a horrible platform, doing more clerical functions to get far less lines. My advice is to run from Transcend - masters of deceit- as fast as you can.
Larry just said that Transcend does offshore.
X
Transcend Services doesn't offshore....
visit the website at http://www.transcendservices.com
We heard Transcend is buying Keystrokes next. I'm not working for Transcend. No Way !

If MDI-FL is owned by Transcend and Transcend admittingly offshores, sm
then doesn't that make MDI a company that offshores? That's like saying that one branch of a company offshores but another does not, so they are excluded from the offshore label. If MDI-FL is part of Transcend and Transcend offshores, that means that they do.
RE: If MDI-FL is owned by Transcend and Transcend admittingly offshores, sm
Your hypothesis is incorrect. MDI is a wholly independent subsidary of Transcend, therefore, they were not a part of the experiment to offshore to evaluate cost/benefit ratio that Transcend only tried for 90 days (I believe the evaluation process is not still ongoing).
Transcend and no work...sm
I left Transcend over 1 year ago, and from what I have read here, nothing has changed except the forced VR, that I saw coming and one of the reasons I left.  The other was NO WORK, especially on the last week of the pay period.  On the weekend day that I HAD to work, I sat there and babysat my PC with NO WORK!!!.  It was so frustrating, and I was NOT one who got on and worked when I wanted.  I worked my scheduled shift everyday, all day long, and it was a struggle to get a decent line count...sometimes it was impossible because the accounts were over staffed.  I know there are slow times, but this was for the WHOLE year that I stuck it out there.  They had the most horrible accounts, sound quality was spotty and scratchy, and the dictators were awful.  The worst accounts were the ones you had to have a "faxed" copy of the patients in order to even start typing the report; had to search through tons of awful faxed sheets....ugh!!   I'm sick to my stomach just remembering it all.   Apparently nothing has changed, and only gotten worse, as evidenced by the constant help wanted ads and complaints posted here.  Sure glad I got out when I did.  Flame away with "things are different", but I don't see any evidence of it in the posts I've read.
How is Transcend to work for?
I worked for MQ for 6 years and it sucked. Management was terrible. Raises were unheard of and you worked your butt off. They appreciate no one!
So do you work for Transcend?

Are you making 10 cpl with Transcend?  If you are is that what you started at and how long have you been with them?

RE: So do you work for Transcend?
Yes I do, and I have been with them one year as of July.
Transcend...anybody able to work?

NM

Does anyone work for Transcend doing...sm
editing for voice recognition?  I am thinking of making the transition as my hands are tired! But don't want to make a bad move and get paid nothing for hard work.
Currently work PT for Transcend
and so far doing okay.  It was a challenge to learn Beyond TXT, but so was DQS, I have a problem learning new programs.  The people are great and they have their own forum and web site to ask questions.  No shift or weekend differentials.  You have to E mail tech, but sometimes I just call them.  They usually get right back to you. I heard a lot of negative posts about them on this site, I guess disgruntled ex-employees need to vent, but I have not found what they said to be true. It has been a positve experience for me.  They leave me alone to do my work and I am picking up speed.  4 weeks now.  I do get some hard dictators, but also some easy ones. I don't listen to a lot of the negative posts because in my experience, they are exaggerated.  I have another job and that company gets a lot of negative posts also and the job has worked out fine for me.  MT stars in general gets a lot of doom and gloom posts.  The sky is definitely not falling.
I work for Transcend and it is no
company out there.  The posts below are not true in my experience about as the person hiring was very nice to me and not rude at all.  Please do understand, though, that every account they have they hope to get on VR and pay the MTs half per line what they are making doing MT, because it is expected your production will double on VR. So if you like doing VR and can do double what you transcribe, this would be a good company for that person. In the meantime, they still have plenty of regular work. Hope this helps.
I work for Transcend. Beyond TXT
to others I have been on.  Also, all accounts will be going to VR in the near future, so if you like VR at half your line rate, go for it.  Otherwise I would seriously think about this one.
All Transcend work going to ME
If you want to do MT, be prepared to being switched to ME in the very near future.  This company wants all accounts on VR.
What is Transcend like to work for? How about MDI-FL? They both sm
talk a good game, but it sounds like a sales pitch and I want to get some honest opinions before leaving MQ.
I used to work for Transcend.
I also thought their platform was terrible and the training was a joke.  That is why I left.  They have the worst platform I have ever worked on. The training was the worst also.  And the technical department, if you have a problem, you have to email them and wait and wait and wait for an answer, sometimes not until the next day.  And they were crashing on a daily basis.  Reports did  not show up on my line count.  I had to constantly email tech to see why a report did not show up.  The worst company I have worked for.
I work for Transcend
They are a very good company to work for.  I've been with them over a year now and have been treated very fairly and kindly.  I highly recommend them.  They're looking for MTs, so definitely consider them as your home.  Hope this helps.
Transcend work
Where is it?  I guess they have none.  Anyone else having this?
Transcend work
My accounts are pretty busy this morning.
Transcend must have sent all their work
over to India this weekend too. Nothing available on my accounts. What else is new. This is getting to be routine.
Anybody work for Transcend

who is a team lead and would like to share some info on how they like it? Feel free to e-mail me.

I don't work at Transcend. nm
//
Low/no work at Transcend?
Anybody? Or maybe it's just me. I don't get it. I've barely had part-time amount of work and I check in at all hours of the day and night just to get that. There is zero work on the system right now. It's ridiculous. I've been begging them to add another account and they are doing it I guess but at a snail's pace. Bills are coming due, gas is getting higher and this looks like the end of the road for me. Even during MT week, everyone was suppose to get a package, I didn't and to add insult to injury there was a contest I had won that week ($25) and you guessed it, no sign of it.

So although they're extremely friendly ppl who don't give me a bit of grief, I can't afford to work there anymore. It's been since the end of May and hardly any work.

Oh well. javascript:editor_insertHTML('text','%3Cimg%20src=http://forum.mtstars.com/smileys/sad.gif%3E');

I've already applied to a few places, so we'll see what we see.

It's back to the drawing board, Again.
