Regarding JLG

You want to know about JLG, where do I begin.  First let me say I am NOT a disgruntled ex employee and this is ONLY my opinion. Please dont start sending back posts telling me I am wrong or blah blah as I am already stating this is my opinion according to the experiences i had with the company. someone elses may be different and you may have different views.  I am not doing this because I got fired and I want to badmouth my ex employer.   But this is my story with them.  I was taken on as an I.C. and according to the US Dept of Labor, the laws are clear.

The main reason I became an independent contractor was to be my own boss. Unfortunately, some U.S. companies don't fully understand the difference between independent contractors and employees. Even among companies that do understand the difference, there are those that attempt to exploit the relationship, because it's clearly to their advantage to do so.

The cheaters (and naive) misclassify workers as independent contractors, but still attempt to control them as employees. In doing so, they reap the benefits of both worlds, while depriving independent contractors of the very reason they became independent contractors in the first place: It's your right to decide when, where and how to get the project done. ****In other words, by U.S. law, an employer cannot classify you as an independent contractor, then dictate when, where and how you work, as though you are an employee. It's matter of control. The bottom line is I was treated like an employee and they followed none of the rules listed above. I was an employee when it was convenient for them and an IC when it was convenient for them.  As far as gossip and backstabbing, I never heard people talk about each other like they did at this company.  From peoples sexual orientation, to making fun of thier looks to sexual harrasment.

The main problem was too many chiefs and not enough indians. Everybody had a title and everyone thought they were over everyone else.    I also did not like the fact that they outsource and we were left to deal with foreign MT's and thier horrendous mistakes.  I could go on and on, but whats the point, this is only my opinion. They were not all bad, but out of the blue for one day I was just let go and my supervisor made up reasons to fire me that were just not true.  I know what some of you are thinking, you dont get let go for no reason, well I did not think so up until now, but I now I do and if you still dont think so, you are just plain naive.

She hated my guts from the first and I knew when she came on board I was doomed. Unfortunately, in every company there is some frustrated miserable SS agent on a control trip lurking in the shadows and god forbid they take a dislike to you.

Just let me close by saying they let me go and kept another woman who was going behind the companies back and trying to get a hospital to leave JLG and work with her exclusively.  She also called the owner of the company trailer trash to me my third day on the job. But, she is still with the company and I am not.
