Thanks much for taking the time to reply. It is something that is important to me, and I am wondering if I am being unrealistic to expect a review and/or raise after a year of service with the same service. Isn't this just good business sense on their part in an environment where it is hard enough to feel connected and part of a team?

what do you mean there are no reviews?
how do they know if you fall into full time or part time slots for insurance?  what about the 120 days after employment, they review you then dont they and what about accuracy?

I appreciated the responses. I will be checking out future opportunities and wanted to be sure that a yearly review is a reasonable expectation on my part. Just starting my list of pro's and con's to try and find the right fit. Thanks again.
PS: Hate to break it to you you really summed up my situation in a nutshell. Glad to hear moving on was a good move.
Bad reviews
Yes, I work for a company that has gotten bad reviews on this board. It seems pretty much every company gets bad reviews which just shows that everyone's different.

I like the company I work for. I just think what works for one person may not work for another.

And no, I wouldn't mention the negative feedback you heard here.

Good luck!
Bad reviews
I work for one such company now.  They are always getting a bad rap but they suit me just fine and dandy.  If I have any concerns (and I've applied for a lot of jobs), I bring it right on up in the interview...they don't have to hire me and I don't have to go to work for them so if they aren't willing to address any concerns I have, they don't need me and I don't need them.  I went to work for one such company although at the time they were getting a lot of posts about paying.  The interviewer admitted that it had been a problem but had been corrected.  I went to work for them anyway.  No problems with the pay but no one had posted that they were so disorganized they didn't know which end was up.  I say a short term understanding makes for long time friends so if you have concerns, my advice is ask away but make your own decision.  Don't rely on this or any other board to make your decision for you.
Yes and No on reviews.
You have to really study the reviews here for a while to get a feel for them.  First, remember the saying where there's smoke, there's fire. If you have several consistent posts complaining about pay, or no work, etc., you can bet this is probably a true issue.  Like one of the posters below, when she mentioned the pay issue and the no organization, I know exactly what company she means, as I read this board daily. I've done it for years, and you really do learn the companies this way, the good and bad of each.  As for the glowing, cheerleading reviews of companies. Beware of these more than the negatives. For instance, below you will see rave reviews for another company, nearly to the point of praise the Lord posts. Only problem is, the MT is a newbie to the company, hasn't been there even a month, and the others chiming in with praise are brandie new, too. Yet you have ex-MTs and old-timers with the company stating there is no work, NO work. Who do you believe? The newbie? NO! So many companies play the bait and switch. They get you on board, give you great work for a month or two until  your ties are cut with your old job and you're stuck, more or less. Then you see how the company really is - you'll either wake up one day and have no work, or garbage work that you never saw before. That's the way the biz is. So, never ever believe a newbie. They mean well and are all excited, but its like an emotional high when you fall in love at the start.  Then when reality sets in, its way different!  When you get an occasional complaint like I hate company so and so, and its full of hate and pain, you can pretty  much rest assured that something personal happened, like the MT couldn't pull her weight or quality was an issue. When its so emotional and personal, there's more to it than just a negative review.  Generally I have found that the companies praised on this board were not at all what they were praised out to be.  I prefer giving some with a bit of negatives a shot, at least knowing what the problems might be from the start and addressing them on the interview. Yes, by the way, bring it up, as all MTSOs know about this forum and should be more than happy to address your concerns. I've never had a problem with this. After all, we tell them we found the ads thru such-and-such web site, so we can tell them we saw some negative reviews as well.  How they handle the answer is your answer!
Reviews, raises???.....
What part of that was unclear. Anyone can check production - you won't get a review after 6, 10 or 20 years much less right after your probation. If you aren't producing to suit them - you are gone, unless of course you are a pet and then you can do whatever you want..
don't read the reviews
nm
I know that they are going to be doing annual reviews now as sm
my supervisor was just telling me about them. Yes to raises but I think it depends on how high you start at. I went from 0.08 to 0.09 over a year, now slight higher.
Yearly Reviews
Does anyone knows if any of the transcription companies actually gives their MTs yearly reviews, feedback on their performance, and/or raises.

QA reviews???????The whole time...sm
i was there, I NEVER ONCE had a QA review....my team lead was good at disappearing or just not replying to IMs sent. Emails were answered a whole day later....phone calls were NOT returned and when I typed in the place of another MT who was out....i found NUMEROUS errors in her prior typed reports. What QA review??/Could not have been on the account i was on.
Webmedx good reviews

I thought they were OK too but maybe not...the posts I read in the archives said they paid well..but guess I'll look elsewhere

Used to always get glowing reviews, but that has changed.
But it's kind of sad. Quick growth can create difficult times for small companies, I think.
regarding negative reviews for Axolotl

Most of the negative reviews from Axolotl are very old.  I have transcribed from 14+ years and I have never found a company that even compares.

You might have a couple of disgruntled employees who could not and would not take pride in their work and maintain their quality posting negative things!!!

If you are looking for a good place to work with good benefits and you take pride in your work and can produce quality transcription, then you might want to consider taking a look.

IMEs and Peer Reviews
Have 15+ years of experience in this field.  Any suggestions on how to find additional work???
I see a big ad in my paper for Heartland IS, many bad reviews on this board.

Stuff about them being sold and on their website is a big picture of....India? I am sort of new to the business, one of the MQ SE in the middle of the shuffle.  Are there any companies that are stable? I am tired of stress.

Didn't Webmedx get good reviews here?
I was under the impression they were a-ok? Hmm...
Thomas Trans Any reviews/comments on this company?
Thanks in advance
Has anyone ever applied to a company that does not have good reviews on this board

but ended up liking it anyway?  I have an interview today with a company like that . They opened up a training center locally and I thought that maybe I might get some local accounts, but the main reason for applying is that I am doing clinic work and would love to go back to acute care.

Has anyone every brought up to the interviewer the bad reviews, or is it best to leave that out?  I am new to job hunting.

All the old reviews say they're horrible. Listen to those MTs and choose another company. nm
