I know this profession isn't easy but I love the medical field. I discarded the idea of nursing to become a MT in 1971. I have done this work ever since and I consider MTs just as important as the nurse who gives the patient care. As my motto has been for years hands-on nursing care without really being there. Without the work of good MTs, charts would not be the reliable source for others in the health care profession to utilize. I feel very good knowing that my work is helping with patient care each day. Remember,it was President Ronald Reagan who started Medical Transcriptionist Week, because he realized the critical importance of the work we do and he wanted it to be remembered.
