So then, the waiting period for the first job would not count in that scenario.

But the next insurance would cover if there was no break if employee stayed at old company, kept that insurance and then had no lapse in insurance when going to the next job. Is that correct?

Seems fair, especially if there is a 90 day waiting period for benes just like a new hire. nm
.
they don't pay their share of the premium in any pay period you drop below full-time line count..

I hope you're right. I've been waiting 4 wks for an ID - still waiting! nm

Is this scenario out there somewhere?

I know this is a tall order, but are there any MT jobs like any of these scenarios:

Mon through Friday?

Tuesday through Saturday, with Saturday being only 4 hours?

Tuesday through Friday?

Being able to take 2 weeks vacation per year with any of these above scenarios?

Decent pay per line? (more than 7.5 cpl)

I need to start looking again, but don't know where to start.

Thanks to all of you!

I think it is a little bit the first scenario and
I left a few months ago and there was a major exodus of people who had worked there for years, myself included.  We had weathered the changes there over the years, but the recent ones were too costly.  It's great when you first start there, but the honeymoon doesn't last long at all anymore.  At least it used to last a couple years, but those days at Transcend are long gone.
Okay, Here is the scenario...sm
What is your first thought when a physician all of a sudden spells out words that every Transcriptionist should know, when they have never spelled them out before. And when you receive a general e-mail stating what mistakes they have been finding, yet you KNOW you have not been making those errors.

Yet when you are hired, your cpl is based on the number of lines you can commit to and not the quality of work you produce.

Yes, you are a statutory employee.

Regarding having a backup account: Lets say that you have met your line count for the day, and you want/need to work extra. Are you going to stick with your primary? Or go to your secondary account to get those extra lines? Everyone knows that when you type on your secondary account, you lose money because you are not as proficient with that account. It just really irks me that when you are in a pool with other people, and the company asks for the number of lines you will do in a day, then someone goes over that count by 100%, do they not realize they are taking away from someone else's line count? There is a reason they ask for the number of lines you can do in a day - so they can hire the appropriate amount of people to cover those lines.
I got laid off too,. same scenario. sm
There were several of us that got the ax with no warning.
That very scenario played out for me last month.

Transcription Express was hiring ICs, but expected me to work every evening after 6pm and every weekend, both days.  They said that the owner might agree to giving me Sunday off, but nothing else.  Not exactly an IC position!!!

I think Transcription Express is hiring again.  So, any of you who enjoy being called ICs but treated as employees, there's an opportunity for you.

I hope the IRS has Transcription Express on their list of companies to audit.

Yeah, the layoff scenario went thru my head, as well, especially (sm)
since I hear this co. has a branch in India.
Scenario: No work. Docs not dictating. You are an employee. What does that do to your

If you are doing no work, well, any formula to extrapolate your "down" rate of pay is still going to equal zip.

And if you go on vacation?  what does that do to your "down" rate of pay?  If you have no sick leave and you can't type, what does that do to you "down" rate of pay?

If you have no PTO yet and you are down for weather, computer problems, etc. if you are an employee, are you kicked to SE?  What happens to your insurance?

These are all questions you need to get hard answers to and get answers that are palatable.  And get them in writing.

Sounds like my situation, same scenario, first monday, then wednesday, now???
I would quit with no notice. I have begged and pleaded with the company and I cannot continue to go unpaid. I have bills to pay and a family to support. It is unfair and unjust. Just my 2 cents.
part-time IC is 5000/pay period and full time IC is 10,000 per pay period. Need to talk with
recruiter about cpl, I'm sure it varies with experience.
In my Extext experience count was about 10% less than the Word count. nm

It means to double check what THEY say your count it. Count

Are you aware of how they count your time?.. or don't count it i should say

WMX - line count. Was working along and noted line count accumulation (sm)

signed off the report I was typing.  Those lines didn't add immediately, but sometimes they do that.  What concerns me is that when I signed that job off and the next one came up, not only were the other lines not added in but they were LESS than they were before I signed off previous job.

I thought I noticed this happening the other day, but figured I just wasn't paying attention.  Today I definitely noticed it.  For some reason it changed it's mind and took 8 lines off my line count.  What the heck?

Am not really ecstatic with the way things are going anyway  and then this confuses me.

Please, someone have a realistic explanation so I don't feel paranoid and cheated here.

You are doing better than I am. Still waiting...
...on the paycheck. Maybe those 100% gals get the debit cards, and those idjits, like me, who mess up a comma, don't get a debit cardiac?

(Kidding, kidding, antcipating my debit card with high excitement.)
Still waiting on MQ
not getting my hopes up, of course.  Happy MT Week!
Still waiting...
I'm still waiting for mine
Anyone else still waiting for W-2 from DSG?
They said they were sending it out this week.  Sure seems SLOW this year.
What are you waiting for? Get out now! nm

I'm still waiting.............SM
for someone to reveal how they know that the account has been lost.  There appears to be at least one individual who enjoys starting rumors of QT's demise on this board, and we have survived these rumors before.  If anyone feels they know the truth and can tell me how they know it, please divulge on this board or e-mail me.  I'm not leaving my job based on what appears to most of us to be pure rumor, at least to the majority of employees.  If anyone feels they know the truth and can tell me how they know it, please divulge on this board or e-mail me.  Thanks.
You will be waiting until the 15. They
do not process your check the day you send in your time sheet.
waiting...
It would be considerate of them to at least let us know what is going on. They have not said one word about going to VR with any of the accounts. I have been with them for years and it's very unprofessional of them to ignore us and expect us to just sit back and wait until they have work for us to do. Yes it is a slow time of year, but FN has been slow across the boards for the last 8-10 months now, even with picking up new accounts. How does that make sense?
waiting
Why wait that long...would email or call, things get lost and forgotten especially this time of year, at least you would know instead of waiting and wondering...
Waiting here too
impatiently, I might add (LOL) . . . just my personality. I wonder how long it will take to hear back. I know she is busy, but hopefully we'll know soon since she is looking to hire quickly.

I had some trouble with #1 also.
I'm not waiting around for them to get their act together sm
My bills won't wait until they get another account or whatever it is they are planning on doing. My bills aren't tolerating this cut in salary, either. I have to think of me and my family. I have juggled everything as much as I can juggle it and now I am making the decision to get out. I can't stand doing 12 hour days for a bare minimum paycheck.
Also waiting
Yes, I also thought it has been strangely quiet. The first week after the announcement, there were e-mails asking for our input and questions, and now nothing. I hope the early signs of willingness to work with us and keep things that are working don't just die on the vine.
waiting for work

For anybody that has worked with transform..............Have you have experienced this. I have been waiting for work to be asigned to me for four hours. Yes, they asign work to you......................I have been with this company for two weeks. I made a mistake, I put the wrong date of service on a report...............................So I am wondering if this is the reason why my e-mail has not been answered, nor my phone calls, nor AOL messenger.  I have not made mistakes with medical words, at least that I know (although I have not gottent a lot of feedback). I have been transcribing in this particular speciality for 7 years, so I don't think I made huge mistakes.

Have anybody experienced this?

I'm waiting for them to take the spaces

Waiting for mine too. sm
Not to scare you, but it took 6 weeks to get my first one. I was shorted on both checks too. Were we supposed to get paid the 15th? They are always late so I do not know.
I have been waiting all night for - sm
someone to say that. I feel better already!
WAITING FOR WORK!!!

In your response to FutureNet.  I am currently working for them. It is a good company, easy platform, great people, but I am waiting for work as I type.  I think they have over-hired, we are now caught up and out of work.  Doesn't pay the bills!

Soon to be in the poor house

Waiting for work
Do you have other accounts with FN? I have four and if work is REALLY low I wait and do work for the other service I am employed with. We have several new accounts coming on and some of them are still in the testing stage. But it is also that time of the year.
Waiting for work
I also have 4 different accounts that I can work on, so running out of work doesn't happen very often for me.
I think it's a yes to all. I use ShortHand. Waiting to be set up for the

Thanks! I'm waiting for W2s from Precyse and MQ, as well. nm

Waiting to see what rates are!
Wow, $400 a month is higher than I'm paying now and I thought it was high! I currently pay $340 a month for family but the coverage is very good. I did hear that they have a new rate plan coming in. I will wait to see what I hear from this change. I have to have good insurance. My husband does have some health issues.

One last question....can someone tell me how soon insurance starts when you hire on with Keystrokes? Do you have to wait 3 or 6 months or does it go in effect on Day 1? My current job insurance went into effect Day 1. But they are outsourcing some to India starting this month and I'm afraid we may all be out of jobs soon. Doesn't look good. I may check into the plan to just purchase myself and not have to worry about changing jobs, etc.

Thanks for all your replies, I appreciate it.

Waiting for Future-Net

About a week ago I received an email from Future-Net stating I had passed all the testing and a recruiter would be contacting me....I am still waiting a week later.  Is this normal for them?

TIA

still waiting on my paycheck
this company is a joke
still waiting on my check from TTS
@#$%&
Still waiting for an answer.
I did all my testing and had my phone interview with the recruiter and Jean but have not heard anything back.  Last communication was on Monday.  They seemed really intrigued as I said I would work 6 hours on Monday and Friday and 4 or more on Saturday and Sunday.  Should I call them or just keep waiting?  I have lots of experience with ESL's and currently work in an acute setting.  Seemed like everything they wanted to hear.  How long does the hiring process normally take? Thanks in advance.
still waiting for computer to come
here.  Just trying to get some understanding of platform before starting.
Patiently Waiting...
I can tell you that I have applied with nearly 30 places--and I'm starting to regret it!!

I researched each and every company before I applied, so I'm sure that I applied for great companies. But now I'm being bombarded with requests to test and emails and phone calls.

I've had several offers, most of them very promising, so it will be fairly hard to decided.

The downside is that there are still about 15+ companies who stated on their website that it can take a week or two to get that first contact from a recruiter. So if I accept one of these job offers in the next few days, I think I'm still going to be getting bombarded with phone calls and emails and testing requests.

Of course, I'm not complaining in a bad way!! I'd rather have it this way than no phone calls at all. My first response came within 24 hours and I even received a response today from an application that I put in on Monday of this week.

I don't know if any of this answers your questions, but I hope it at least helps you a little...
I'm still waiting on work
this morning but haven't had anything come up for over an hour.
Yes, I did. I was waiting to hear from...
MQ, but so far no word from them. USAMedTran got back to me first, so I accepted the job. They told me I would only need a foot pedal and Microsoft Word. From what I have read, this company is pretty known for hiring newbies or MTs with minimal experience. This is why I applied there. Money is not my biggest priority right now - I am 22-years-old and live at home. I do need any experience I can get though, so I'm hoping this will go okay. If you want to get in touch with me at any time, my email is ericj1985@gmail.com
Do you all believe there is actually a waiting list...sm
to work for this company (if you can even call it that)? I wonder if they pay through PayPal because of the ease of having payments reversed or chargebacks like on eBay. Anyone who has ever sold on ebay knows PayPal has high fees. The MTSO may have more control with PayPal. Does that make sense?
You've been waiting since May?
I think someone needs to get a clue....
I'm on 40+ hrs, but 15-20 waiting for some work. nm

How about WAITING UNTIL THE CALL? sm
Before JUMPING to conclusions?? Holy cow. Unreal. I think it is to announce how well we are doing and talk about all the new work we have.
I am just waiting for my hospital IDs sm
and I can start. Everything else already cleared and I can't wait!!!!!!
