I applied for a job at Gold Standard Medical Transcription. The reply I got was from Softscript, saying they were interested in having me test for the position. When I emailed back, I asked if "Gold Standard Medical Transcription" and "Softscript" were the same company. The reply I got was "Yes". So their reputation is so bad, they have to disguise themselves with a new name....

Obviously not soon enough to save the reputation of
the company and possibly some good MTs.  If there are more like her around there, no wonder they get such bad comments.
I think they have a good reputation, but they don't

They do have a seem lot of happy employees, though.  I don't work for them, just try keep tabs on the different companies on here and how they compare.

They have a lousy reputation
I'm so sorry for those affected by this. I don't think I have ever seen a positive post about that company in the several years I have been coming to this board.
all you did was confirm SS's reputation TY!!!!
WE REST OUR CASE!!!!
Softscript reputation
Apparently, you're the designated apologist for what I would describe as a criminal enterprise, in my opinion. If you are so enamored by them, why not divulge your real name? There is nothing good, decent or kind about this company. Lawsuits a plenty; some settled out of court and hidden. Over 200% turnover of personnel annually because no one likes the management or the supervisors- most are uneducated and many lack any tact whatsoever; losing many contracts. Can't find one fellow MT who thinks it is worth the stress they put you through. Bunch of know-nothings and do-nothings run the place. Trust me, this company will be belly-up within two years! Good luck!
she's here checking on her own reputation. nm

I think having a reputation for suing MTs for
posting on a message board will 'scare off MTs' more than anything else, LOL.
They have a great reputation -- I think it would be fabulous! nm

They've had that reputation for years now. How DO these

Good point. I was just speaking of their reputation.

Yes, I second the motion on everything the other poster. Bad test files and reputation
for no pay. I know there was a controversy on here way back about her not paying or something. I cant remember it all but it did not sound good.
Focus has always had a bad reputation as an Indian company to name a few issues
so my belief is that they include that so it sounds like a more creditable company. JMO
the alternative is to allow reputation-damaging lies to go unchallenged ...
Without understanding exactly why TT decided that this lawsuit is worth it on balance, doubtless they were aware it would cause controversy and some (most likely temporary) backlash.

The company I worked for 10-15 years ago that similar sued a couple of ex-employees who went on a rampage bashing them remains one of the largest, if not the largest national around ...

As I said, I don't recall anything about damages ... it may simply have resulted in a court ordered injunction to post no more ...

The medical transciption industry is highly competitive. With the economic downturn of the last year I had expected more than a couple bankruptcies ... I suspect the move from local MTSO's to Nationals is responsible (since they are more likely to qualify for keep-float loans and have more deep-pocket hospital clients who pay on time -- as opposed to shoestring doctors' office practices) -- they also have the deep pockets to pursue litigation.

Again, apparently the people at TT felt that defending their good name in this case was worth it.
