There are a lot of different circumstances........ sm

in the MT world, and it is not a one-size-fits-all kind of situation. Let me explain.

Large national MTSOs do have to have an office presence. They normally have staff on-site for things like payroll, IT support, and operational employees. They also have to have building space for things like servers, inventory (computers, etc., if they supply those to the MTs, which some do), and office space for upper management. CEOs and CFOs do not normally sit in their PJs and work at home like we do. ;-)

I understand that most ICs and even employees of smaller MTSOs and subcontractors for even small mom and pop operations do still have to provide their own hardware, etc., but to say that MTSOs on the whole provide nothing is just plain misinformed thinking.

No insult or injury intended...just another point of view.

Under what circumstances?? If you are
an IC with an MTSO and they have employees, you are last on the totem pole to get work as they have to provide work for their employees if workload is low. If the MTSO receives no work from the facility, again because of FT employees, then there is nothing that can be done. This is the SLOW season, so it is not unusual for workloads to be light now.
Given the circumstances, Spheris for sure.

Depends on what the circumstances are.
You state there was no warning, which is very unlike them.

If you are in trouble legally with them, I would resign.

If you feel you are being asked to leave for something not your fault, I would take the firing and file for unemployment, and when that is denied(it almost certainly will be - Spheris will fight it), then take any/all documentation you have and ask for a grievance. Make sure you know what you are up against though. It will take time for all that to happen and you may well have another job by that time.

You can still list Spheris, even if you are fired; however, you will need to think about how to you want to word the reason for your dismissal.
I say go for it. They have changed and realize that circumstances change for MTs too. sm
The email is sent from lists acquired over the years. Explain the situation to them upfront and I am sure they will understand.
