There was nothing snide or condescending in her remark.

If you're that hypersensitive, please seek help for your disorder instead of reading between the lines and trying to censor other people.

I would never even apply for a job with that pay - your snide remark no warranted! nm

Why the snide attitude? How do you know who this person is? sm
I get so tired of people bashing or doubting others, just because their experience doesn't match yours at a particular company.
Such a snide response to someone trying to be helpful
Honestly, there is no reason to be so mean spirited.
Condescending AC?
Got any initials???  Please????
LOL! Liked the "criticism" remark! nm

That is a prejudicial remark.
Substitute the word African American, Asian, Hispanic, etc., in there and see how wrong that sounds.  Why do you need to be so insensitive.  This is a public forum.  Let's quit stereotyping people according to appearance.  Saying that is a blonde remark clearly strikes me as totally uncalled for.
There was absolutely NO need for such a remark!...sm
Just because *you* can't accomplish that does NOT make it untruthful.

Perhaps instead of bashing an MT who has spent her life and career learning as she went along to achieve these goals, you might better spend your time finding ways to increase your lph and educating yourself for furthering your career.

I am not the OP; however, this type of line count is totally doable! It takes patience, time, and, most of all, a continuing willingness to learn new terms and then RETENTION of those terms.

As I have progressed through my MT career, when I have happened upon a new term I have made note of it on sticky notes around my workspace. There are always terms/medications are new. Instead of looking them up over and over, I found that the sticky notes provided a quick reference.

The next thing one must do is take full advantage of an Expander file. As I have made new entries, I have kept track of those on notes, as well, until they were committed to memory.

It helps to have the ear and it also helps to stay completely focused on your job during the time frame in which you are required to work, with hour to hour-and-a-half quick breaks to get up and stretch and a quick getaway from your work. Sitting for too long can not only bring on lethargy, but also decreases one's concentration and focus.

Learning to transcribe new dialects, a very real factor in today's transcription, should not cause one to whine, but rather to get in there and transcribe the report then take note of QA feedback.

With this ever-changing field, one must be willing to learn, learn, learn and develop new tricks to increase one's productivity - instead of calling another MT who has obviously achieved a high amount of production over her career a liar! Shame on you - you're a sister/brother MT and this was totally unnecessary and disrespectful!
janitor remark
Are you serious?  My husband worked as a janitor in the post office for the past year. He had to in order to get into the position he wanted. He laughed at your post. That would like me getting angry at someone for calling me a typist.
you sound condescending

If you feel you are so right what is the purpose of this board that is provided for us?  I grant you should have open communication with your supervisors, but in the past this board has helped tremendously with some issues.  there's nothing wrong with asking more than 1 person until you can get your supervisor to answer. you may get some insight from someone as a MT.  You just never know the reason why that person may be asking here.  Try to be positive!

That was NOT a nice or an encouraging remark.
xx
Posting such a nasty remark --

is offensive to those of us who have alcoholics in our family.  My youngest daughter has a drinking problem but has been sober for 3 years.  I don't know what this person said, but she must have been right on the money for you to be so rude.  I will say a prayer for you but I hope you rot in hell!

I also found that remark uncalled for
It is my personal opinion that QA is essential. On the very rare occasions I receive a comment from QA, it is accepted by me wholeheartedly and I put in the extra effort to be more attentive to what I'm doing.

I feel a lot of MTs have it in their mindset that are inferior to QA. Then there are others who absolutely cannot take constructive criticism well and get on the defense if an error is found. These are both wrong attitudes. QA is just another set of ears to help out.
You 'had' condescending people???
You may also want to look up the meaning of condescending. There is nothing condescending about my post.
Offered you a job but was hateful and condescending?
About what?!?!? Details! Details! LOL! This is too good.
I honestly think you're being condescending and
rude about the comfy jammies statement. This career and its earning implications is so more vast than women wanting to stay home in their jammies. Please don't be so ignorant. Of course the MTSOs played on our desire to stay home and raise our families, but lots of other factors played into our pay rates plummeting - offshoring and competition among the big nationals. I've been in this career, working from home, my entire adult life, nearly 27 years now, and my choices were not based on my desire to - stay home in my jammies - as you succinctly put it. Even now as I look at new companies - the bottom line average offer is 8 cpl - period I have great credentials and experiences, but that is it. Will I sacrifice my entire life style for 27 years or accept the 8 cpl eventually? I'll not toss my lifestyle to the wind - my family is too important to me. Not my jammies...
Now, as a chiuaua herder I resemble that remark

and it ain't as easy as some people make it out to be either.  Although, I really should get into baby brokerin' instead.

Sorry, I haven't slept since this time last night.  Being on-call and sleep deprived kinda makes me lose my internal edit button.

Wow. You thought that was rude? I didn't see any name calling or condescending
attitude like a lot of other people's posts. No, Sara Beth and Billy Bob did not ask a legitimate question. It was a flame attempt and you're helping to fuel the fire.
Annoying, Condescending, Uppity Snakes in Suits

...and did you know another for Spanish moss is hanging lichen? I had condescending people. nm

I feel like I had my life sucked away sorting through this condescending, judgmental post. sm

While I do not disagree with some of your points, I am not sure what you hoped to gain by posting all of this.  The ones you address almost certainly will not recognize themselves, and even if they do, they will not change.  And for those of us who are NOT that way and do strive to be the best we can be in all respects, it is just a stating of the obvious.

I am an old timer too, although I hate to think of myself in such unflattering terms.  I started with carbon paper and a Selectric typewriter, transcribing dictation from vinyl belts.  I do NOT long for the good old days in that respect, although I do miss the days when line rates were higher and being paid by the gross line was the norm ... sigh.

As we all know, the times are tough now in the MT industry, and it seems we would be best served to help and support one another rather than chastising and scolding others for their posts.  Of course, as I type this, I realize my post could be seen that way as well, and for that I apologize.  I very much believe in the laws of attraction and the power of positive thinking, and I have never seen negative energy attract anything other than more negative energy.

I cannot seem to sleep tonight, so I guess I might as well transcribe a bit more and make my insomnia profitable.

Are you the same condescending person the word board? I thought this was called "Company Board.&#
