I didn't see anyone's name, nor did I see any specific examples given. This person has the same rights to say what they think or feel, just as an MT does.
He posted comments on the word board
on Jan 25 that there was a lot of misinformation about his company and then made the statement about people going to the source to find out the truth. I think he and empty pockets may be fast friends.

It is a horrible story that is becoming almost the norm...
I was told today by a national transcription company that due to my lack of experience in the last eight years.... that I was unqualified to work for them as they need people with recent acute care status. I have worked for a group of orthopaedic surgeons for eight years and went to work for them because my job at the hospital was phased out due to outsourcing. I have 36 years of experience as a Transcriptionist and all but the last eight were in a hospital setting. I am shocked to find out that I do not qualify for their company. The work at our clinic is dwindling and even though they are hiring three new docs this coming year, none of them are going to be allowed to dictate as they will be required to use the EMR only. All of us sit by our desks waiting for that next job to show up and hopefully if you are lucky enough, you are the one who grabs it first. I used to work every evening and weekend. That has happened in the last five months. Sorry for the venting. It has been a tough struggle with a laid...

This is sad - I never thought that THE OWNER OF THIS board would support offshoring - sm
or should I say embrace offshoring. My husband and I have lost jobs to offshoring. Our one son has had to drop classes and has to go an extra two years to college because we cannot afford to send him full time because of the loss of our jobs and having to take dramatic pay cuts. I am with two transcription services without benefits. My hospital job was contracted to C-Bay, which as you know, is an Indian based company. I could go on and on, but I won't.
I have been on this board for three years and have enjoyed, learned, shared, and bonded on this site. This is such a let down that I actually cried over this. I thought I had a place to vent and share and learn with other transcriptionists. I enjoyed knowing that I could sign on with a company that posted on this website knowing that the company did not offshore. But that is no longer the case.
I wish my fellow transcriptionists the best of luck in holding on to their homes and lives and jobs. I can no longer support or be a part of something that offshores. I have lost too much both personally and financially to offshoring.
It is with great sadness that I leave this site. Thank you.

I also work with her at that company and she is correct about providing an up to date list to the operation department. It is done on daily basis and fortunately usually only changes when new people come on board, not when they leave because people love working here including me! Low turnover except for new employees. This is my only national MT job I have had-- hospital for six years, and I love it. I just lucked out my first time around. Good luck in your job search.

In response to the posts about Christmas, I remember the good old days when the Jewish radiologist I worked for took the whole staff out for a big Christmas dinner and gave us all generous bonuses. We in turn gave him and his wife Hanukkah gifts. It's called mutual respect and being big enough to accept and respect each others' differences without taking away anyone's right to celebrate according to their own beliefs.

that was paying 7 cpl for MT and part time supervisor. I don't think so.
I was just on the La. board looking for La. MTs.
I never see any postings from MTs of Louisiana and when I asked a question concerning LA MTs I would never get an answer. What part of Louisiana are you located. Do you work as an IC or employee or for a hospital? I have been trying to get an estimate on what Louisiana MTs are paid as I think the amount that I was told by the hospital was too low.

Then that is Terry and they are out of St. Louis MO. I currently work for them. Good company to work for. Terry is very enthusiastic about MT. I enjoy the accounts, very low ESL if that is a selling point for you. We also have always had plenty of work and if ever I've run out I just let Terry know and she hooks me up with another account to fill my time.

MQ has their own board because they are the
BIGGEST MTSO. Spheris will not allow employees to post anywhere anytime anything about them. Spheris joined up with Indian forces long, long ago in a HUGE volume. I have even read articles from Indian papers and Spheris, with Spheris wanting to reduce its US workload by half at least in order to use Indian labor. I have heard Spheris pay per line is very low. Not putting MQ up on a pedestal. I have worked for both, and Spheris is evil #1, though they keep a very low secretive profile.
I just saw on the job board
@ mtjobs.com QDPRN allows the choice of Word or Wordperfect also. So there seems to be companies out there still using Word.
