Friend works there and says pay is often late. They may dock for errors, too. Need to ask. nm

They might dock your pay for errors. I'd ask if interviewing. nm
s
I know someone only getting 7 cpl for experience here, and I think they dock you for errors, but
s
They do not dock for errors. NEVER been cheated out of $$!!!!!
nm
It's one unit now and they no longer dock for errors. NM
x
Do they still dock for errors and how much? I will never work for a company that does that.
Not because I do not strive for high quality but that errors can be subjective. QA says it should be this way and docks me but maybe another QA would agree with me. So, who is right? That kind of thing. Nope not for me. I also wonder how much these companies end up cheating you out of money because they get the same price by the client, just they have docked your pay, thus more in their pocket. Whose to say they are not picky on purpose.
Post from May said they still use DOS and dial-up modem, need a 2nd line, dock U for errors, and
s
The above poster is right. There are a few spelling errors so maybe that is the quality issue that
the MTSO is bothered by. I'm not an expert and this is not being negative, just an observation. Maybe it all goes with concentration, being tired, burn out and everything in between. I have been so exhausted at times that I could barely remember how to spell my name. You need to slow down and this is a from a former 60-80 hours a week worker. It is not worth it.
This issue IS... Do you want your QA that determines your errors, including punctuation, Indians.???
I have no problem maintaining quality and agree that 98% and above is acceptable and definitely quality what we all strive for, I just am offended that someone I cannot even understand and they cannot understand me, being the ones doing the quality checks on my work. That is my issue with it. You have not been there long enough. I was there a few months before they started bothering me. The problem was that I would tell them No, I cannot do the stat right now as I am logging off and they would still keep asking me. What part of NO in the English language is that hard to understand. Good luck with that.
Yes I have been paid. Payment has definitely not been a problem. I received payment on the 19th. nm
nm
Tying payment to their payment is fine
if they tell you that up front. Once bitten, twice shy.
Too little, too late? It is never too late. I am one person, true, but together

Let me tell what this ONE person achieved on her own and then you can imagine what many of us can do if we stand together.

Two years ago, I was working as an MT for a local hospital.  One day, we were told that our overflow was going to be outsourced to one of the nationals, just the discharge summaries and not even all of those.  Two months after they told us that lie, they called is in one by one and fired us because they were outsourcing the entire dept because it was cost effective.  The service they were using was a very large national who I happened to know had a reputation of offshoring.  And I just knew because our little hospital had easy as pie dictators with maybe 4 out of a staff of 200 that were ESL, our work would most definitely be one of the accounts offshored.

I was angry!  Oh, they offered us jobs at the service and told us we would definitely be working on our hospital, but I'm no fool and I knew it would be a matter of time before we were forced to take secondary accounts which would eventually become our primary accounts and our little hospital would just disappear from our queues.

I refused the job with the service on moral grounds.  I refused to work for a company that offshored.  And then I decided to channel my anger and outrage into something proactive.  I wrote letters to every newspaper in my area.  Every small farming community newspaper this hospital served, and the big city newspaper in the big city close by.  I never dreamed that anyone would pay attention at one woman's rantings.  But a funny thing happened.  My letter was printed in more than one of the papers I sent it to, and reporter from one of the larger newspapers called me and asked if I would do an interview.  I said absolutely.

Long story short, they did the interview and then interviewed the administrator of the hospital.  They put him in the hot seat and asked him about offshoring health information to India.  He had no definitive answers to give except that he would have to look at the contract and make sure that it was stipulated that his hospital's work was not sent over seas.

It was a small triumph, but I took some satisfaction in it.  Two weeks after that and just when I thought all the hoopla had died on my little letter, another letter appeared in the newspaper -- from an HIM director at another local hospital who said as a result of reading my letter and interview, that she had received a number of calls from concerned people asking if their medical information was being sent and transcribed overseas.  She wanted to write the letter just to set the record straight that her hospital employed their own MTs and did not outsource to a service nor did they offshore any of their work to third-world countries.

And I'm still not done.  Still a few weeks later another letter in the big city paper was printed from another HIM director assuring the community that her hospital employed its own American MTs and did not outsource or offshore.

Now, everything has quieted down since then, but I managed to ruffle some feathers and make a point, and if I (one person, one middle-aged work-at-home mother of two) can cause that much ruckus -- think what a whole bunch of us can do.

I think we, as a group, need to take control of our industry and our career destiny and do something.  Maybe march on Washington DC protesting the offshoring of American jobs -- not just ours, but ALL American jobs that are being offshored.  There are more Americans out of work and losing work to third-world countries and corporate greed than just MTs!  Our government needs to hear our voices!  We need to MAKE ourselves be heard!

Instead of sitting back and pasting little smiley faces in our posts and saying good luck with that we need to come together.  There is no room for MTs willing to accept lower wages, no room for MTs whose hearts bleed for our third-world counterparts, and no room for MTs who want to sit back and do nothing, but reap the benefits when the strong win the battle.  We've reached a critical turning point and it's time to take up the cause and change the future.

They dock you for mistakes that are not there or even if you go by AAMT BOS
No matter what, they dock you. When they cannot find mistakes in your work, they make them up. Late paycheck. I would make more money panhandling! System goes down...
also dock your pay for not meeting QA standards..nm
xx
Yeah they dock you a days pay if they want to. not fair.
:(
Do they still dock pay for slightly lower than normal

expected QA scores, and use stars and apples as QA scores or do they come in real numbers now?

Had to toggle between many screens, no support or qa to speak ofl they dock $10 per document
;p
Old posts say they dock lines if the client is unhappy and starting pay is very low for 1200 lpd. nm

They still have not paid me although Sonja Sacoleman made a promise on contacting me for payment but up to now... still nothing!
Alliance Payment Anyone??
Anyone receive payment recently from Alliance?  Waiting for over a month.  Told they pay weekly when hired.  TIA
eScription Payment
Yes, when you become accustomed to editing, you can generally edit at a rate of 400 to 700 lines per hour. It usually takes about a month or two to get used to the editing process. It is important that you learn the eScription shortcuts in the beginning, so that you don't get bad habits. In particular, ALT-K is very important to learn.

Ascend Payment
I am working for Ascend now for three uears. They have a policy of each 15 day pay period paid 15 days after the period is closed. If the disbursement date is on week end it will get delayed. I never had an issue and I average about $0.12 per line.

There are folks who do not complete their paperwork or do not submit their production data on time do get their pay delayed.

Ascend also gave me a loan last year and subtracted agreed upon installment from my earned wages.

I like working for them. Plenty of work, good pay.
Yes, I received my payment
Yes, I have received my payment as promised.
Never payment issues
with TransTech...never.
Payment at DeVenture
I have been working for them for over a year and have never had a late payment.
Demand for payment
Send her a demand for payment letter with 10 days to pay you. Send it certified with return receipt. State that further action will be taken if payment is not received by you in 10 days, and add that interest will begin to accrue on the balance. In the meantime, see if you can find other MTs who are owed money by this same person. If it's only you, they know you won't take the trouble to travel to their state to file in small claims court. If you have several people, you can file a class action suit in federal court. That's what worked for me a few years ago with a company in California.
No payment from MTSO

I was hired my a MTSO without asking for my social security number or driver's license.  I did not sign an IC agreement or HIPPA paperwork.  She only verbally told me what I was and verbally did not want any contracts signed. I was told I was a subcontractor, but I refuse to work anymore for her.  She is now telling me she cannot cut me a check without having my SS#.  I am telling her cut my check and then we can make arrangements for her to pick up her computer.  Who is right?  I have no gurantee that she is going to pay me and why ask for my SS number now?

There were payment issues with them in the past. Don't know about now. nm

But weren't there payment issues??

WRONG! Their payment policy is (sm)
Pay periods run from 1-15th, and 16-30 or 31st of each month. Payment is twice monthly. PLEASE NOTE: For example; If you begin your employment with them today, July 20, you would work from July 20 to 31st (that's 12 days). You THEN add the 30 days, meaning you will be paid after having worked 41 days. If you're going to make a post regarding a subject matter as paramount such as this, make ***** sure it is accurate. I am reporting your post under the guidelines of being defamatory.

There have been payment problems with them. Hayseed
used to work for them but quit.  Don't know if she has posted any of that here or just on another board.
I would send a demand for payment
that you have that as proof.  Give them x amount of days to pay up or you will take further legal action.  Also make note in the letter of the disconnected telephone number.  Then you'd need to file a complaint for the money due.
Payment of taxes question
You don't have to wait and pay your estimated taxes quarterly? I thought it had to be done that way. Please let me know. Thanks.

Isnt this the company with intermittent payment

Rather than worrying about notice here, if my house payment
were in jeopardy, I'd hightail it to another position ASAP. Then, I would not put this company on my resume, and if you were there for a short time, just say you took time off for a brief period to research jobs. To me, my bread and butter need not be played with. And the creditors think that even more. Good luck to you, but whatever you do, remember it is not you, it is there are more cheesy MTSOs in this business than not.
Should you keep working as an IC when you haven't received payment from last month?
I am working as an IC and still have not received payment from last month.  I also had to pay $75 deposit for their software.  My MTSO recieved my invoice from last month and nothing.  They just keep sending me work and I am still being nice.  My sister said no money, no work and do not do the work until I get my check.  Is she right?  My MTSO has recieved my invoice and let me know they have it.  Any suggestions?
Comments from last year said they were very unorganized and had payment issues. nm

Digital Dictation Services - MARY GLEASON, Stiff on Payment, BEWARE
This is a sole proprietor, who will let you try out for a couple weeks, and then stiff on payment.  She is all nicey nice in the beginning but look out, she will rip you off big time. Do not work for unless you like working for nothing.
Errors
Yes, they do deduct for MAJOR errors that affect patient care, not for minor mistakes. If you don't make major mistakes that you should make anyway, you don't get deducted. Duh.
more errors
that should read, major mistakes that you should NOT make anyway. duh. LOL!
errors
Well putting an 'a' or 'an' out of place IS an error, right?  That's not nitpicking, it's QA!
If I cant make QA, dont give me work. Dont dock
