To the MT wanting to know if 2000 lines a day at TT is doable sm

I am beginning to think it is really doable. I have 5000 lines for my week, 3 days in this week and I don't have the latest out of iChart either. Yes, it is doable. I have been there...oh 3 weeks and 3 days and I can do this already.

Yup, it is doable.

NightOwl, 350 lines is doable....
and without compromising your quality. Sure, I still probably have errors on my reports as I did with typing. Not huge, but if and when I reread, I do find little errors, but no different than when I would proof a whole report that I would have typed. Now think about this for a moment. When you started transcription and you were only typing 100 lines per hour, you probably asked I am just not sure how I could type 200 lines without compromising my quality...well look you have!!! Same concept. You will get better and better at each day, week, month. I started VR probably last fall. Now at first my line count was the same; it didn't slow me down nor did it increase my speed. Now here we are about 9 mos later, and I am probably making $200 more per pay check. Still after 9 mos, each and everyday I find little tricks here and there that increase my speed and I am still learning. It is a skill just like any other that will get better with time. I am no expert by any means, I wished I could edit at 500 lines per hour, but I can't...but I am improving still. Good luck!
perhaps math is your problem. 375 lines/hour x 0.08 = 30.00. totally doable.
m
2000 lines/day
How long does it take you?  That's amazing!!  By the time I get my 1000 lines done, I'm ready to quit for the day!
7.5/ln if do 2000 lines a DAY, OH PLZ
20,000 per pay period
10,000 per week
2000 X5 days = 2000 per day

for a whole 7.5 cents a line. They otta be emailed by all MTs and say HAIL NO, unless and until you agree to work for $1.50 an hour yourself. If nobody speaks up, wellllll
Who wants 2000 lines a day? That's outrageous! nm
m
How long does it take you to do 2000 lines nm
nm
at 80+ reports, you are doing about 2000 lines
nm
But are your 2000 lines per day ACCURATE?
If you expect to work at TT and shoot off 2000 lines per day that have a lot of errors you have just moved to the wrong company. You will be admonished about that. And you should be. Flying fingers don't cut it at TT unless the work is accurate. If you have a lot of Expanders and produce a lot of quality work you will be an asset. I have never made 2000 lines a day at TT but my work is accurate and they are a great company.
2000 lines per day, what kind of work are you doing? nm
xx
again, realistically, most people are not doing 2000 lines a day
nm
3 cents per line up to 2000 lines per day
and then an incentive but still diddly for QA pay
How long did it take you to build up to 2000 lines a day?
x
Forgot to include 2000 lines a day sm

On the first posting, it posted half way down the page (don't know why) so scroll downward for the figures.  It looks like there is no message (there is though)

Anyway, don't accept something like this, no matter what from this CHRISTIAN company as they put it.  This is clearly taking advantage of very very very skilled technicians.  Just makes me so darn mad to see stuff like this.

2000 lines a day at $0.18 cpl. Believe it.....Not original poster, another one making $$$$. nm
x
I average 1800-2000 lines a day on BeyondTXT.
nm
Big difference between 2000 and 3000 lines per shift.
nm
MQ. PTflex...2000 lines/week and 401K.
NM
The only post I see that is idiotic is yours. You just admitted you did 2000 lines sm

straight typing, 3000 lines at VR for HALF pay.  So you lose.  If you were to break even then, you'd have to do at least 4000 lines on VR.  I don't honestly remember what you said you made, but most companies pay half for VR.

Before attacking, perhaps you should learn the fine art of reading and comprehension.

Ultimately, though, you're happy, so more power to you.  I'm happy too, so I guess it is a good Friday for both of us.  I will not respond to any more of your posts, but I do resent name calling and labeling by someone who obviously has a lot to learn himself/herself.

2000 lines, I havent done that in years. What work type do you do? nm
xxxx
AARP is doable
Single - 60 years old - 347/mo with low deductible and dental and vision. It is deductible if you pay on your own.
It's doable .. currently I work 3 (sm)

different transcription jobs and before that I worked 2 so yah, it's doable.  Just realize you'll be married to your computer and will likely be typing all day and probably until 11:00 at night.  I need the $ so I neglect everything else at the moment.

My kids are older though.

It is very doable. Actually, I make way more, but.....sm
not at 8 cpl, more like 13 cpl and average anywhere from $50 to $60 an hour.

At 10 cpl, gross line, I averaged about $45+ an hour.

Never worked for less than that, so I really can't speak about hourly averages for 8 cpl.
Satellite doable with Axolotl?nm
nv
one weekend a month is absolutely doable! sm
I was just offered a position and I am seriously considering taking it, however, I had to send a few more questions to the recruiter, but sounds and looks great.  If the testing reports I did are indicative of the reports I would be getting for work I am really thrilled!!
Also $2000. mo.
I'm right there with ya, pass the Kleenex. Over 10 years' experience, work to exhaustion, and bring home $2000. a month.

Years ago it was easy to build up normals, especially for Op reports, and get a decent lph rate. Now, shortcuts are unheard of -- my accounts are teaching hospitals so there are new residents every semester and it's like starting a new account every few weeks.

The old accounts with normals and easy dictators have gone by the wayside in my world -- apparently some of the high-earning posters here must have found them.

You too? I was always a 1800-2000 SM
line producer daily until I worked for them.  1200 and it was taking me 9-10 hours to get those 1200 lines.  Something is wrong with their line counting.
If you read their ads, you see that they are XP and 2000 only. sm
I spoke to KS a few weeks ago and was told that they do not accept satellite or VISTA. I have both :(

I think In Shock should concentrate on fixing the situation or moving on rather than continuing on and on here. The people she is angry with probably don't bother with these boards. They have other fish to fry. I know that I read these posts for entertainment when bored, but if I want real information, I go to the source.

Give it up and move on or figure out a way to work with them. If they do read these, I am sure they can figure out who you are and would not even want you at this point if you are just going to keep harping on it.

There are other companies out there that might use VISTA, but I have not seen many.

Have you tried talking to the person who you say told you this? On reading your post, I could not tell.
I usually get 1800 to 2000
.
Usually averaged over 2000 per day, but
why do you ask?
I used to get 2000+ daily with one hospital

oh my god that work rocked!  It was 95% normals and work was plentiful.  Imagine, ortho reports that were 2 pages long and all you had to do was type in your little Expander shortcut and poof there was the whole report whenever the dictator said Please use my _____ report.  Ka-ching!

Ahhhh...the salad days.  I remember them with such a sad fondness...it was the kind of thing that was just so good you just knew it wouldn't last.

Now I'm all bummed again.  Where did I put that cheesecake....

Do you think that 1500 to 2000 a week is possible?
This is a serious question, because I have been there a while and still not up to that. Maybe 1450 but not the big numbers. Wondering if it takes a while or if it is the platform.
Not bad at all. Consistently hitting 2000 plus
lines a day. Just gotta get used to the Audit SW. It's not the greatest but it's not the worse.
Okay what is great money? $2000-3000 a PP
TIA
hosp I worked for paid IC MTs $1.25/min for 2000 min/mo and
??
And they have been that way since I worked for them back in 1999 or 2000!
x
Really? I just came from a company that expected 2000 minimum!
Per day.  I guess I was getting screwed, but at 5 cpl, 1200 lines a day (if you work only 5 days a week) is only 1200 a month!  How can you live on that?
Not wanting to know...
what anyone's cpl rate is, just would like to know if after working for this company a while, do they give raises at all?

I am not trying to find anything out at all...just curious if you are with them for some time, do they give you raises? That's all I would like to know.
I am currently an IC and wanting to
if I will be able to maintain the amount of money I make now as an IC. I currently type around 190-200 or so reports a day. Is this doable at Keystrokes? TIA
Thanks, wanting to know
The reason I am making changes is because of no work/low work where I am. Maybe this kind of nonsense goes on everywhere these days.
WANTING ISN'T GETTING...SM
As an IC they cannot demand a schedule AND THEY KNOW IT!  They are breaking the law if they do, simply stated.  You are giving up employee benefits, PTO, insurance, etc. in exchange for that flexibility.  But there are always going to be MTs that will give them their cake and let them eat it, too.
actually, was just wanting to know myself
if anyone works or worked for the Nevada location that can tell us the good, bad and ugly.
Thats bull. I was told $2000 was tops a month. nm

You can't pick what accounts you get, only whether you are ER or acute. I do 2000+ on ER, Merit p
woowoo
Keystrokes' ads all say WindowsXP or 2000. Vista is not compatible sm
with most platforms, which is not the fault of the company.

You were not fired; the offer letter states that employment is pending IS approval of your computer. Vista is NOT compatible with most MT platforms at this time. No one would have told you to purchase that. We do just the opposite and tell everyone NOT to purchase VISTA as it is does not work with our hospitals.
Wow .. if I could do 2000-2500 lph, I'd be living next door to the Rockefellers. nm :-)

I don't believe you, but if true, then MQ is obviously not wanting

There is no way to meet the demands they are setting forth for employee.

Thank you. I am aware of that. I am wanting
Thanks for your input.
I am wanting information on
Good companies, pay on time, etc? Thank you.
Don't blame you for wanting out. All
s
What's the purpose of them wanting
you to log everything?  Like country below, I always just jot down as downloading, but it sounds like maybe you are doing something a little more extensive?  If they require it to get paid, I guess you don't have much choice...but if you're talking major log keeping, that would take up a lot of time   I've just always done it for my own peace of mind, actually did have incident of DQS some time ago not counting a report I did, had to contact supervisor and got it corrected.  Also many years ago with MQ in the old days before DQS, there was some glitch happened, and I was very luck to have the job numbers, as I had to tell the person calling me late at night what jobs I had done...
i'm wanting to get out the MT business myself sm

i love what i do, like you all say, finding work that pays good, the trust issues, and actually, i would like to leave my work at work instead of my computer staring me in the face, and me thinking, gosh, i could be sitting there working right now, or my problem lately is my work is running out.  the company i work for hires too many people to work.  i've been seriously thinking about going back to school and becoming a radiology technologist.  i do miss communicating with people face to face.  i want to make a difference in someone's life.  i definitely want to stay in the medical field.  i couldn't imagine not doing something medical.  right now i have two young boys that i really want to stay home until they are little older.  they are both in elementary school right now.  i even thought about working at the school somehow.  i wouldn't make as much money as i do typing, but i can see what goes on at the school.  this is a great topic!
