Minimum line count is 3500/week

At least Transtech requires only 1 weekend per month
That is why everybody wants to work there plus the fact that you are seen as an equal and not harassed to death.
2 weekend days a month, no insurance
Statutory employee, not IC. I think their minimum for full-time (paid a better line rate if full-time) is 700 lines a day, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong on that. You pay long distance (most accounts). My accounts are heavy ESL.
MDI-MD requires 1 weekend day commtiment.
I don't think the OP wants any weekend work. Phoenix Medcom doesn't do weekends, so even though their pay is not the best, they'd still likely be able to accommodate her schedule much better, I think.

Does anyone know if Shapin requires weekend work? Thanks! NM

The minimum is 5500 per week, NOT 6600 per week. I think you made a typo. :)
NM
Not what I was told; 3500/wk part-time & 6000 wk/full-time. nm

Bare minimum? I make over $50,000 a year in 40 hours a week. That is not bare minimum. sm
Bare minimum would be $8 an hour which is $16,640 a year or $10 an hour which is $20,800 a year. I make more than twice that and that is NOT bare minimum.

I worked to get my typing speed to 80 wpm. I worked to get my Expanders user-friendly and plentiful. I am not the fastest because I look up what I do not know, but I am lucky to have a very good memory so if I type it a few times, I do not have to look it up. I keep notes when I run across something I do not know. I am interested in my profession and read the magazines for our profession and network with other transcriptionists during my free time, devoting a minimum of 2 hours per week to networking and learning new things.

I am not the fastest MT, but I am accurate and boiled it down to simple math. I need to transcribe 250 lines per hour for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. At 10cpl, that is 2000 lines a day x 5 days per week x 50 weeks per year. I take 2 weeks off per year during July to visit my grandchildren (unpaid), 1 week a year to vacation with my husband (paid) and 1 week a year to spring clean (paid). I have worked for the same company for 4 years and 8 years for the one before this.

I treat my work hours as work hours and take 1/2 hour for lunch which I do not include in my 8 hours. I pretend that I am working outside the home and do not answer the door, get the mail, do laundry, etc. If I have a good day and go over the 2000, I bank it in my mind for days that are not as good and make sure that I get 10,000 lines each week.

My W2 each year is consistently $50,000. A few years it was higher, but I worked a few weekends, which I no longer do.

It IS possible.
TransHealth also pays for production over minimum, and weekend differential. nm

Minimum lines for FT used to be 60,000 keystrokes a day, about 925 lines. Pay was good. Just not a

MQ requires 24 hours per week for PTO benefits.nm.

Minimum 12,000/month for IC
for IC status.  FT as an employee is 32 hours/week.  Hope that helps.
I was told several new accts are coming on this month and also next month, so
I'm not worrying.
Allegiant requires 500 lines per day rather than set # of hours
nt
MedQuist requires 1200 lines a day
I do voice recognition and am only required to do 1200 lines a day, 12,000 per pay period.
minimum 5000/week
I do 6000, about 1200 per day.
Not really...Minimum of 35 hours per week plus SM
more hours if they need you to work which means no part time.
PT has to be 24 hours a week at 100 LPH minimum.

Maybe she/he works 14 hour days/7 days a week? nm

FT/PT? Minimum lines? Thank you. nm

minimum lines for ICs
You have to watch it with MedScribe. I am not a lazy person, just a single dad, but when my production dropped a little low for just a short time last month they ended my contract like BAM! And no second chance. So after half a year of high quality Rad work for them now I am looking again.
one weekend a month is absolutely doable! sm
I was just offered a position and I am seriously considering taking it, however, I had to send a few more questions to the recruiter, but sounds and looks great.  If the testing reports I did are indicative of the reports I would be getting for work I am really thrilled!!
Full time with Transtech is both. 40 hours per week and 5500 lines per week.
x
No, they did not just raise the minimum at TT. The quota is 5500 per week for FT
and I have not had any problem whatsoever reaching it.

Good luck.
Employee MTs with no minimum line counts per week
I was wondering if there are any companies that hire a MT as an employee rather than an IC without a minimum line count per week? I know as an employee you will be required to have a schedule, but I am interested in knowing if anyone works as a employee and does not need to meet a minimum line count per week? Please let me know. Thanks for your help in advance.
The PT they will hire now is for both weekend days. Otherwise, they are FT only. sm
I have heard that they are going to be phasing out part-time employees, but might grandfather some people in depending on the shift they work.

I used to work for them part-time -- I think 20 hours/week is the minimum. nm
nm
Think it was a minimum of 60,000 keystrokes a day, equiv. to about 925 lines? That was a while ago.
s
Very difficult and they raised the minimum lines per wk. nm

With Transtech, how easy is it to get your minimum lines
nm
You pay more for insurance if you don't make minimum lines also sm
I left there because of this exact issue. I started having a harder and harder time getting my lines, meaning I got a reduced line rate and had an extra $95-100 on top of that taken out because they didn't pay the employer matching part of the insurance.
8000-9000 a month and it is so worth it. I do work a weekend day though.
sxx
Were the 2 days weekend days? sm
They expect everyone to work a weekend day. Their definition of team player is to actually work 6 or 7 days a week. One might consider it if the pay was there & she gave out some decent work. It is the ideal place to work if you are a workaholic with no life.
It's the weekend. Give them a couple of days. nm
s
They have the accounts set up so that we can BARELY get our minimum lines required in.
If I want to camp out for 15 hours a day as I wait for work to trickle in I can make more. :-(
Our work is considered piecemeal and not subject to minimum wage laws. Just what I've been told
MT
Yes. You must work 1 weekend day every week. nm

One-weekend day per week requirement...

I presently work for a company that requires one week-end day every week.  I've been browsing through the job list on MT Daily and all of them so far also require one weeke-end day per week . Why is this?  It's kind of a depressing thought to think the rest of your work days on this earth will include one weekend day.  Can't they just find people who want to  work weekends only and pay them a differential?  I know there are times in my life when just working weekends would have worked for me, there must be others out there.  I think it's rather gutsy to require everyone to work a weeken day.  Oh for the days of ole when MT's could work whatever days and hours they wanted.  And made good money on top of it.  And mostly English-speaking doctors.

None, unless you work both weekend days on the night shift. nm

Does anyone know the minimum lines required part time for Amphion? Thanks. nm
n
I am in the same boat. Low worrk all week then the weekend comes ..sm
and mass emails are sent out that we are expected to be on and working to make up lines.  I work on Sundays and have Saturdays off but get emails that we must be on and working to make up lines/hours.  It gets old and this is my one and only day off as I work my other day off to try to make up lines.  I refuse to work 7 days a week so I don't.
PT 20 hours week including 1 weekend day ....nm

Thanks so much - I had been told by payroll a month or so ago

that change of status could take place on Nov. 1. Guess that changed since I had talked with her.

Thanks again for your willingness to inform us who have not received any info as of yet.

Every month it's the same. Grab all the work on the last days of the pp and
It's very annoying.
I hired on a month ago and was told there was no choice sm

but to use their computer.  I do not object to the deposit, and, like you, I think it is reasonable since they are supplying their equipment to a stranger.  I would MUCH prefer to use my computer to the computer they sent me.

As far as WMX being the best company ever, your experience must be better than mine.  So far, I have experienced an account with VERY poor sound quality, running out of work during my scheduled time, requests for a secondary account ignored, and emails ignored by the team manager.  Fortunately, I am only working part-time, so it is just a minor irritation while I look for something else.

Everyone's experience with a company is unique, and I am glad that yours is a positive one.  Sorry that I cannot say the same.

Before I quit, they told me 400 a month for family.

12K lines payperiod is 6K lines a week.
nm
Hmm...they told me 90 days......nm
nm
Thats bull. I was told $2000 was tops a month. nm

I was told the new one will be less than $200/month. My husband's insurance is horrible and $800
nm
Wow .. they told me DD was after 90 days. Are you an employee? sm

I was only part-time and just had tried to take on too many jobs, so I didn't make it the 90 days to find out, but I think it was in my hiring paperwork even.  Regardless, though, the checks were always mailed on time.  I have no complaint with them at all.  I did not like my account too much, but my supervisor was great.  I do find it kind of odd that their name is DTS America, but it sounds like the help desk is in India.   I could be all washed up about that too.   Besides, it is a global economy I am told over and over again, so I might as well accept it.
