QED typing test

Has anyone taken the typing test for QED Transcription?  It said begin typing to start test, but there was no cursor to let me know where I was typing.  Do you type the paragraph above, and if so, where?

I'm new at this, so any help is much appreciated.

QED typing test
Took it 2 weeks ago and just got hired.  Just start typing, copying the text above it.  There is an automatic timer in it that will stop you after 3 minutes.  If you try to get back into it and can't, call the company and they will reset the test for you.  The whole thing is very easy!  Good people and good company.  Go for it!
QED typing test
I've been working for them for about six weeks and find they are some of the nicest people in the world!!!  Pay is average, accounts are good, and they always pay on time.  Yes you use their computers so that the 24/7 help line knows exactly how to fix the problem instead of having to guess what's in your computer tha might be a problem they don't know about.  Excellent company!!!
typing test
Iread your post as well, and since when does speed fit into the equation? It makes us feel like rats in a trap and PRODUCE!!! -- these are medical records, and accuracy of patient care should be first and foremost, which most of these larger companies don't seem to understand. I have a physical handicap, so of course, I don't type at 120+ words per minute, but I am accurate and my QA is in the vicinity of 99.999%. There are companies that give you so much time to complete the typing test, but if you are concentating, trying to look things up, etc. those factors need to be taken into consideration as well. Thank heavens, I found a company with a good fit and it is not a national - if need be, I have permission to contact the hospital as well for any questions or concerns I might have
MT typing test, SPONGEBOB

I spelled SpongeBob Sponge Bob and I typed ex box instead of Xbox and that is why I failed a typing test for psychiatric work.  Holy cow.

It is someone now advertising on the job board for temporary psychiatric help.  i have a bazillion years of experience in psyche work.... i am dumbfounded.

QED typing test (another question)
I know this sounds dumb, but do you get to see what you are typing? I didn't see a cursor or anything.
free typing test online
Not sure if this is what your looking for, but if you want to see wpm, Google free typing test and you will get a bunch of hits.
I thought the written was fairly easy. The typing test (sm)
was difficult for me because the specialties I was tested on were different than what I'd been working on, plus new docs that I wasn't dialed-in to, yet. Also, since the test is on a temporary platform (Express Scribe) I couldn't slow it down, and one doc was pretty fast. STILL, because of that fact I was allowed to take my time, so I looked up every term I wasn't 100% familiar with, and proofread several times. The hospital I was testing on was a state-of-the-art teaching hospital, so that meant lots of new drugs & procedures; thank goodness for the Internet! Although we are paid on production, QUALITY is the most important thing. I do a lot more proofreading than I did at my previous job, and as a result I often work longer hours to make my line count, but I can break up my day any way I need to, so I'm not chained to my desk. As a result I feel a lot more relaxed than I used to, and my blood pressure has gone down, as well.
Should I test for Freedom Type???
/
Did you test for Freedom Type?
Do they have much work?
You're not alone! But, do you mean they don't type-test at all?
x
I would *never* type 30 minutes for a test
In fact, nothing more than 10 minutes - and then not after having been at least partially interviewed.

These companies who respond to your resume by sending you a cold email asking you to take a test should reconsider: If you won't even speak to us in advance of being hired, what does that say about your communication will be like AFTER hire?
is there any type of practice test
you can take to help prepare for it or at least give you an idea of what's covered?
I think it was through MT Test, but you might can find
out by going to TT website.   I have 20+ years' experience and I found the test challenging.   There were lots of questions and then the dictation.   I scored a 95 overall, but did better on the transcription part.   I can transcribe, but I don't test well.    I would imagine there are different tests based on experience, because a newbie would have run for the hills in tears if they got the same test.
Don't want to have to use keyboard to type test reports. Anyone know (sm)
of companies that just do the verbal testing or a company that you can do the test reports using the same foot pedal control we use with Medquist?
Before I take a test I find out what the policy is
on hearing back re the results and if I have not heard I call.  I would definitely get back with these companies and see what the prob is!!  If you passed then you may have gotten lost to followup which you need to take some responsibility for and if you failed some then you need to find out which areas you need help in and bone up - I think probably more than likely when you did not call and find out results they moved on to people who did and they figured you were not interested!
Why test to find out their pay is not good?
The recruiter should answer the question regarding pay before wasting time on testing.  JMO.
Find out what type of reports you

will be getting on your shift.  Pay per report is great if you are getting a majority  short routine examinations, such as chest x-rays, lots of canned/normal reports.  If you are on a teaching hospital account the docs have a tendency to ramble on and on, and per line is better.  Some MRI's and CT scans be quite lengthy too.  Ask about the specific account you will be on:  Do they  have canned normals, do the docs routinely use the normals, what majority of exams will be Interventional versus routine.  Both 9 cents and $1.25 are a fair rate of pay.

Also consider the reputations of both of the companies.  Which one offers the better benefits, what is your gut feeling.  Is it possible to work for both for awhile to get a feel for them?  Hope this helps.

All Type in NJ. Any info? I can't find
any current info on this company. Thinking of applying for MT position. Does anyone have any info to share? The good, bad, or the ugly? Coming from a huge national, I just want to feel like a human and have regular work. Not a lot to ask for?
Any information on All Type. Could not find anything in the archives.

I know they are hiring so I am just trying to gather some information before applying.

I type on an account that uses Allscripts. Find out if they sm
are still going to be doing dictation and need an MTSO. Maybe you are panicking for no reason. I know that Keystrokes does several accounts that use the Allscripts platform. I don't think they own it; they just use it.
I did a search on here for Silent Type, Inc. and couldn't find anything (sm)..
Anyone know anything about them?
could not find anything in archives regarding "All Type". Anyone have info on.....

Do they only hire employees, or IC's also:  What platform do they use:  Are they a good company to work for?

Any information would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Anyone else have problems taking USA Type test? Cant get my comp to play the sound file.
Any suggestions? I really want to take the test but their sound file keeps loading onto my music program, and when I try to load it on Windows Medial Player it tells me I need codecs, so how would I find that to load?
Anyone know any info on Silent Type out of New York? I don't know how to find in archives. Thnx
nm
Usually a spelling test, a punctuation test, and maybe 3-6 test files to do. Sometimes done using

How do I get in touch with CIT?
//
Does anybody know how to get in touch with CIT
I have heard nothing but good about Charts in Time, but they don't have a website.  I would like more information about CIT.
How do you get in touch with them?
What is their web address?
Moretti-How do I get in touch-sm

with them? I would like to apply there. Do they have a website where I can fill out an application?

Thanks, Dorothy

Jester's Touch
Hmmm, well, I'm still not sure what the root of their problem is, but I was assured up front by the owner that they are very organized -- apparently not! I've been involved with companies that had a lot of turnover too, and if this is their case as well, I'm just not interested in playing that game again so I suppose it's just as well...
how can I get in touch with MDI Maryland. thx
xx
I believe 10-key touch means
You can enter MR# and account numbers fast using the number buttons on the side of your keyboard.  Just put your middle finger on the 5 and look at the account number and enter it in without having to look at the keyboard, kind of like what you do with words. You are not actually calculating anything.
What's the best way to get in touch with Transtech?

Apparently they are growing beyond their office staff and don't want people calling them unless it is an emergency and they aren't quick to answer emails.  I am not trying to start anything but seriously want to know the best way to get in touch with them where I can get a response in a timely manner.  I am interested in going to work for them after hearing all the good things.

I got in touch with Alphastaff...
since they do the payroll and they sent me my w2 electronically today. The emails stating they were ready apparently came out weeks ago, even before the ones that were mailed last week, but for whatever reason I never received one.
Thank you so much! I will get in touch with you:) You are generous.
Ty.
Enough for me wouldn't touch it with
Thanks!
The managers are so out of touch!
They are so counting their money and bonuses they make by overhiring and having great TAT, they completely forget that we are making zero dollars because each of us are battling for each job. How self-centered and ignorant is that? Like a table which shoots its legs out from under itself, the table will soon be unable to stand!
W2 -- Anyone know who I can get in touch with to obtain my W2 from SPi? Here it is almost ...sm
the end of February and I have yet to receive one. I have all I need to file taxes except this one and the on from Focus. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. TIA.
It is interesting that some of us here are actually in touch
Networking can truly work between MTs, even on an anon board, and this is an example of it! I am glad MTs share experiences... even though it sometimes gets rough here, I think that LTMT is an example of a poster who always gives honest answers...
The ACLU won't touch this....sm
Why you ask? Well, first off, she works, and secondly I am sure she is in this country legally.

The ACLU doesn't take on the causes of native-born Americans unless, somehow, religion or politics is involved. THEN they will come after you with all their heavy-handed tactics. Like the atheist who wanted the pledge of allegiance rewritten because the phrase under God was an affront to his daughter. And the people who want the cross in the Mojave Desert taken down. I could go on and on.

Gourdpainter...I truly am rooting for you. Make an example of the really frivolous lawsuit this is. And a parting thought (tongue firmly in cheek of course), I don't think your company is in too dire financial straits if they can afford to sue you. I would ask for a raise.

Good luck.
Really?? I wouldn't let them touch my system

When you are sitting and typing and all of the sudden something is being typed in your computer while you watch, you wouldn't either!

Yes, a couple years ago when looking I know I was in touch with them regarding....sm
a position and talked to the recruiter, I forget who it was, I will try to look in my records that I faithfully keep, but they were a recruiting company that works for many companies on contract as a middle man to help get prospective MTs, do some leg work, some phone calls, etc., weed things out, and send good prospects along, at least in my case with the lady I was speaking to.....have you spoken/communicated with them?
That's ridiculous. They must be completely out of touch.
x
I am desperate for work, but I won't even touch that. nm
xx
I'd love to stay in touch via email...sm
just click on my user name. Look forward to hearing from you!
I gotta ya.. It really did sound like one certain company whom I will not name here as it will touch
off the debate and that gets old. Thanks for explaining.
Some companies prefer that - more of a personal touch. nm
nm
It has a light touch though. I have had carpal tunnel

surgery and am very picky about keyboards.  I was pleasantly surprised that the one they went (Dell) had such a light touch.

Congrats on the job - I think you'll be very happy.

I wouldn't touch this post with a 10 foot pole. nm
