am scheduled to learn Bayscribe on 6/30. I need a new computer, do you have any recommendations? Vista or XP, desktop or laptop?

Does Bayscribe have to be downloaded onto your computer or is it something you just call into? Thanks for ANY info. I will be ueing a C-phone, havent used one of those in years!

They give you a computer, but require a $300 deposit on it, to be taken out of your check in $50 increments until paid.   I left a different national a few months ago; and when I had started there a year ago, got a new computer and no deposit required at all.

Got called over a month and a half after I applied to their ad.

Line rate is required 170 per hour.

I'm supposed to get a testing e-mail soon, and have to respond and do the test within 48 hours.    That 300.00 bothers me.   A few extra hundred added to it, and I could buy my own.  I've heard the horror stories of deposits and equipment issues.

I think I'll pass. 

Do you have any update with your application?  I wonder how the company is?

Does anyone know anything about this company? I got a call from them and wanted to check them out. I don't want to waste their time or mine. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hello Wonderful MTs and Editors.    I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving and are planning a very big Christmas.     (I hope it snows in Nashville!)  

It appears that there has been some recent confusion on the mtstars site.   My apologies to all.    We are a new company and have been relying on a recruiting agency to assist us with hiring MTs.

We are currently in the transition phase of taking on business from another company.   Therefore, please do not be confused if you call the office number and hear Synthescribe.   Synthescribe is a corporation in Nashville who provides offshore labor solutions to health care providers in conjunction with onshore.   AAmT is acquiring service contracts of Synthescribe's and will be providing 100% US labor solutions to these clients.   I personally look forward to building a team of qualified US MTs and editors to support these health care facilities.   They are thrilled about the fact we will be providing onshore services under AAmT's leadership. 

I hope this helps clear up some of the confusion that has occurred on here.   I have now hired our own HR Director.   You may be hearing from her.  Her name is Amy.   She is a great lady and I am sure those of you who are fortunate enough to speak with her will really enjoy working with her.    (Amy starts with us next Monday, so you may not hear from her right away).   My niece, Tonya, will also be working with Amy.   You guys be nice to her now, she's only 21, but she means well and does a lot around the office to help everybody.   I just love her to death and I know you will too.   She sometimes has a sick sense of humor, but she grows on you.

I will be having an interview with this company and am just wondering if anyone has worked there.  They seem very nice, of course all companies are nice in the beginning.  They are out of Florida and hire as IC at first then after 90 days you can choose to be employee.

I saw a segment on a TV show yesterday where it was reported Hillary Clinton spoke to some Indian business leaders, and she told them she wants more visas issued so more can come over and start businesses [that will take away jobs].  The commentator did say she wanted to charge money for the visas [I don't know if they are currently free or just cheap] and that maybe she was just saying this to the Indian businessmen because she wants political contributions from them, because apparently elsewhere she has been saying she doesn't want jobs taken from Americans.  In a later segment it was reported that China was going to start making cars to be sold in the US by Chrysler [Chrysler will only market them for China, they won't be making them here].  Right now if the US wants to send cars to China for sale the tariff they charge is 25%, but if China wants to send a car here to sell the tariff we charge is only 2.5%.  Also if the US sells cars in China we have to make parts for the cars over there.  No wonder the headline for this whole thing was called war on middle America. This is one of those times when I wish I was close to retiring.
