Webmedx: Which health care plans?
Hi.  Can someone tell me which health care providers are offered to employees?  Thanks in advance.
It's a rumor. They have growth plans, not selling plans. nm
I think they want to be bigger than Spheris, not bought by Spheris, and if they continue to grow in the next few years as in the last few years, I think they can.
they have different plans
.
I wonder what she plans on doing next?

Is MB still there?

They have several different plans to
choose from. I have one of the Aetna ones. My only surprise is that it didn't cover all my labs and I got a bill for about $50 for labs. I called to ask, and they said it appeared there was a deductible. I didn't see that in any of the pamphets. It could be just the plan I chose. Other than that it's been fine.
They have several plans.
I think they are quite affordable. There is quite a lot of reading to do though with all the different plans. Ideally you have a friend who knows about benefit stuff and can help you. My head was spinning, and usually I find it quite easy to wade through that stuff).

(I don't have to cover dependents either, so nobody ask me about that please).
Don't know about OSI but TT has about 9 or 10 plans
nm
Which companies do not do VR and have no plans of doing VR? nm
nm
Do you know if they have plans to eventually sm
start up SR on the DocQScribe accounts?
spheris growth plans
Spheris just announced they are gearing up their Indian operation and hope to downsize their domestic force by 50% by summer. They justify this by saying it is necessary to position themselves as a leader in the global market. Layoffs should be starting by the beginning of June.
and you must be 13 and the reason why she changed her plans
x
Various high deductible plans when
Back in 12/05, they had 3 high deductible plans, lowest deductible of which was $1500. Believe it was 1st of month after 90 days when it kicked in. Don't know if it's changed since then.
My mgr sure does not say that!! Webmdx is not offshore, nor do they have plans, sm
to go offshore- one of their big selling points to MTs is that they are 100% domestic!
I thought they were looking for less expensive plans
xx
It doesn't look like she plans on paying...sm
I am not one to recommend on how to get your pay. You may have to go through small claims court. I really don't know. It just sounds to me like she has been paid already and is giving you the run around. I'm sorry you are having to deal with that, and good luck.
Thank you! You summed up my thoughts and plans exactly..

Thank you!  You pretty much said it all.

I expect that 2009 will be the last year that I will work full-time as an MT.

The owners at Keystrokes have other plans. They want to be sm
as big as Spheris or Transcend but still stay the way they are. I talked to the owner last week and to another manager about something unrelated and the subject turned to MDI-MD. The owner said that at this rate, they'll grow just from the MT's and customers who don't want to be part of the offshore trend. They won't go overseas and have no plans to sell for at least several years. They just bought a platform, are adding offices to the office building and plan on staying. She did say that she thinks that a lot of the smaller companies won't survive the changes in healthcare so they need to grow to stay in business.

Talk to her. You'll be surprised how easy she is to reach and talk to. I was. I was nervous when I called to talk to my manager and the owner answered the phone. She ended up helping me and chatting for a while. I was impressed, which is a first for me.
And they hired 300 Indian workers with plans for

Spheris Inc. of Franklin, Tennessee, has hired 300 people for its new center in Coimbatore, in India's southern Tamil Nadu state, and plans to add another 700 workers in the next year, company president and chief executive Steven Simpson told reporters.

honey, all incentive plans look good until
they find some reason not to come through with the pay out!  Good luck!
I cannot get flat rate plans in my area...SM

I presently use One Suite but am reimbursed.  I used to use Vonage but it does not work well with the account I am presently on.

Here's a link with Spheris growth plans

Yes, my husband is self-employed so we have individual plans but...
the preminums keep going up and up. I realize they also do when you work for a company, but since they get a group rate, the hit isnt as hard as when you are self-employed. Once you have a medical condition and your self-employed, the rates are horrible. I am going to check into some of our plans here locally just to see. My husband and kids are on their own individiual plans and they do have a copay but all we could afford was the cheapest plan which does not cover a lot and like I said every year we get hit with higher preminums just to end up with less coverage. It is very discouraging.
TransTech has NINE health insurance plans
.
Look into insuring yourself. Many health plans can be bought
by the individual. I used HumanaOne instead of Cobra for my family (me and 2 kids). It was $193 a month. Only stipulation was that you only were allowed 6 office visits per person per year that they would cover.
Which to choose???

It appears I may be looking for a transcription job in the near future.  I'm just looking for someplace to call home.  I have multiple years acute care hospital experience, the last 5 years being done here at home.  I come here to find help and after reading through the first couple of pages, I feel like I might as well make a list of all companies across the US, put them in a hat and draw one!!

*I* think my requirements are pretty simple:  Nice, reliable company that treats me with the same respect that I show them, 11 cpl, and plenty of work.

Anyone know of companies that fit that description?  Of course, I prefer a small company over large but have done both and been happy in both situations.  Surely there is a company out there that would be a good fit??

Which to choose??
Sorry, 11 cpl is what I have been paid at the last two employers I've had....as an IC. Guess I could settle for 10 cpl:)
Who to choose?
Have offers for Cymed, TRS, Transolutions, and Silent Type.  They all seem to have pros and cons.  I want to be happy at my job.  Any suggestions out there???
They are just getting ready to change plans and the rates are much lower than that.
I would do my homework first before making those statements. That may have been what it was in the past, but not now. Much less.
That is they have LOTS of different insurance plans. typo on last post. sorry. nm

Give TT some time to see if they can find cheaper plans

I also am greatly upset by the insurance hike, but I have decided to give them some time to see if they can come up with something more affordable.  Like many of you, I have to insure my whole family, so this increase is astronomical.

The grass is not always greener.  Changing jobs means switching out problems, and yes, some problems are easier to deal with than others.  My last job (Amphion), I was so stressed out, I lost a lot of quality of life.  I have young children.  I can't afford to be a stressed out freak just like I can't afford the expensive health insurance.  When I moved to TT, I regained my quality of life.  I'm not so tired anymore, and I'm able to be a better mom.  That means the world to me.  I'll hang in patiently to see if another option can be found for the health insurance.

I wonder how other companies' plans compare at this point in time? sm
Not sure how long you've been with Wbx but this plan seems comparable to what we had previously; however, I know we are all paying more out of pocket - probably for every single plan at every company -in the last 1-2 years.

Dental - I still think it is a good plan but then I haven't needed a root canal.
I don't think you missed much. When I looked at the dental and vision plans sm

with AFLAC, it didn't look like they paid for much compared with the premium charged.  I didn't talk to the representative guy, though, so maybe I misinterpreted the info.  Anyway, I am trying to shop for something different, just to help cover the basics.  I do wish I had taken out the disability protection with them, though ... maybe next year.  :-)

I am extremely grateful for the insurance, though.  So far, it seems to pay pretty well and has been a lifesaver!

You cannot pick and choose
I don't know how you think you can pick and choose. You get the jobs assigned to you by the queue managers. You cannot even see what jobs are available.

SS has been a terrific company for me. I too stick to schedule but at times have to flex because of kids, etc. and they do not have a problem with that from time to time.

Which offer should I choose?

Hi all...I currently have two job offers that I'm trying to decide between.  I was wondering if any of you could give me some ideas, suggestions, input, opinions, whatever...

I was offered clinic work with Axolotl and also offered acute care with WEBMEDX.  They are both full time employee positions, but Axolotl offers 1 cent more per line, which possibly will go up to 1.5 cents more per line after 30 days.

I've read a few posts on here about WEBMEDX and it seems mostly good things are said about them.  I haven't read much on Axolotl at all, so I'm not really sure what decision to make.  Any advice is welcomed and very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Are you going to choose to keep the computer?
I know they said that they would uninstall everything on the computer if we wanted to keep it, I just have a funny feeling about that, I don't trust them!!

If we don't want it, do we have to pay to ship it back? Is anyone going to purchase it for 260?
They do need people to choose a
schedule and stick to it, I believe. There is plenty of OT available right now, while they are still hiring. I have no idea how much flexibility your life requires, of course. I try to stick to my schedule, but when an emergency has come up, they have been very nice.

In my opinion, and trying to consider it from a business standpoint, their aim will probably be to cover the account with enough people so they don't need much OT in the future. But how it works out will just depend on the skill and production levels and dependability of the people they hire, I suspect. That makes it hard to predict future OT needs.

Good luck in your decision. I'm happy with them, but I don't have kids or another job or other a complications to work around.
You actually choose which plan you want to go with. sm
They offer many different plans at different rates. You choose the coverage you want and that is the plan you go with.
Have to choose IC over Employee?? ....sm
Hi!  Well, after all the testing, thinking, interviewing, etc., I find myself really torn apart.  I have wonderful job offers with fine companies, but the problem is that, at this time, I have too much family obligations to truly commit to employee status....my dad just passed away two months ago, and I am having to care PT for my 89-year-old mom, along with my 3 kids, and with all this going on, I can commit to working long-term and PT hours all through the week, some weekends, but really need FLEXIBILITY, and cannot sacrifice family time for $$$.  I have been doing this for 16+ years, but with my father's long, drawn-out death, I find I have to, in all conscience, spend as much time with my family (what really matters), but help out my husband with finances steadily.....do any of you ladies have suggestions for good IC companies where I can work hard, have experience in EVERY field, and still be able to BE THERE for my poor mom and family?  Thanks everyone so much in advance!!
I would choose Transform
I have worked for both, if you are talking about Accustat in Wisconsin, and I currently work for Transform and they are awesome and very very flexible with hours, etc. The system is really easy to use and make great money on. I have no complaints about Transform at all. Good luck.
You choose to work
12-hr days and weekends, but that doesn't mean it's the norm. I work M-F, no weekends, 1st shift. Not all accounts are hospitals either. Some people choose to work nights/weekends because of the differential or preference, but just because we got into this profession doesn't mean we HAVE to work that shift as there are all days and shifts available. I think the newer MTs and part-timers generally get stuck with those awful shifts anyway.
I'm not knocking you if that's what you CHOOSE
to do, and you shouldn't knock those of us who CHOOSE not to work those crap shifts. Free will, baby. I have experience and am good at my job, so don't worry about me... LOL
Yes they can do require that. You can choose to go or
not as an IC but you also should be prepared to be without that job if you choose to stay home.
Or you could choose to look for a different profession, sm
where you are not so demoralized that you feel (jokingly or not) that you are a victim.
LOL. No. I had to choose my own beneficiary. Are there companies sm
that do that?
If you could pick between OSi and TransTech, which would you choose? nm
x
They are not well thought of. I would choose Andrewsw or M-TEC. nm

It can if we choose to MAKE it happen. -nm

If one of mine forced me to choose between the two,

I pick and choose what I take from this board

I first started coming here about 6 years ago when I started going to school for MT.  The posts almost made me give up before I had even finished.  I was sure I would never find a job and that I made a horrid mistake, but because I had already paid for the classes I decided to continue, and found a job 2 months before I ever graduated.  I have been working for 5 years now, and have never been without job, and I make a very good line rate with an awesome company.  I like coming to this board and looking around since I don't really have a relationship with co-workers in this business, it is nice to see what others are thinking, but for the most part I take everything with a grain of salt.

But what happened to you about the recruiter is pretty horrid.  I can't believe somebody would do such a hateful thing, but in the end they may have done you a favor, I don't think I would have wanted to work for a company that was so rude and unprofessional.

choose being the operative word
That is what I said. You do have the right to choose the shift and pay you want. All i said was if you don't have what you want, then get out and find something that does give you what you want instead of all the ragging on about how miserable everyone is. I don't care when anyone works. I just get tired of all the people who complain but do nothing to help themselves.
Keystrokes is not for sale at this time, and there are no plans for selling in the foreseeable futu
This is a rumor started by someone for absolutely no reason. There are a few companies out there who have approached Keystrokes about selling and have been turned down. A few have been very agressive and do not like to hear the word no.

The company has been growing steadily for the past 10 years and has agressive growth plans in place for the next 5 years.

If you have any questions, contact one of the owners or member of the management team directly. They will answer your questions.

This is just another example of someone trying to stir the pot.

Not every company is for sale, at any price. Although that may change in the future for the owners of Keystrokes, right now they enjoy growing the company and improving on what they have built. It will be several years before the idea of selling would be entertained.
