Anybody know anything about South Medical Transcription out of South Carolina?
TIA!
Clues to MQ.

If you are going to hire employees, you must treat them as employees with more than nominal benefits and real ways to get work.

If you are going to require 1200 lines a day in an 8 hour period, you must see that there is enough work to give a person 1200 lines a day, and not twist the knob either.

Remember employee = real benefits, not this 3 days a year PTO and insurance that is laughable.  Also you must provide the equipment, the internet, and pay for downtime such as weather.  A supervisor to authorize your stupid OT, must be available 24 hours a day as the schedules are made for all over the globe/which translates to several time zones.

The majority of your work is done by PT or in other words SE.  These people don't work in 8 hour shifts as they use MQ as pick up work.  Also, in the hours they do give you in a day, no way they can do 1200 lines.

Mission Control, we have a problem.  It sounds like you expect all people to become employees and do 8 hours a day.  EANGH..........CLANG CLANG CLANG - not going to happen.

Give US some clues

What are you looking for?  Employee or IC?  Acute care or clinic?

There are good and bad with every company.  Sometimes it just depends on what your needs are.

I will have to give another vote for MQ (I work as an SE part-time).  But for a full time position or if that is the only income you are relying on, MQ would not be my first pick (lack of work in some offices, possibility of upcoming changes due to lawsuits, etc.), but they work wonderful for me in my situation.

Give us some more info

On the West Coast
I heard the term typing monkeys, too. Wouldn't surprise me if it were used all throughout the company, they had so little respect for us. I just thought it was an LA thing, but evidently not.
MTS Services (not in West MA)
Hello all.  I run a small transcription service.  I am sometimes overwhelmed by the amount of responses and resumes I get all at once!  I am truly apologetic that I am not able to get back to all of you in a more timely manner.  If you ever have questions about who we are and what we do, please feel free to email any time!  I am a MT as well so I have been there done that.  I understand all the probs and things that go with being a MT.  - Mark
I thought it came from the old West, when
to the white men, and then a few months later, came around in the middle of the night and stole them back to be re-sold to someone else.
Is this ESL account on the west coast? nm
nm
Thanks - I'm on the East Coast too
I'll have to look around here some more.  Thanks.
No, not Chicago, bit further east. nm
.
Because of their location on the west side of the Hudson,
expecially if you have to pay the per minute fee just to call the other side of that stickin' river! I never understood the phone company's rationale in that rip off!
? I think saying west coasts accts are all scary sm
is an overreaction. I've seen Florida, Texas and other accounts that were horrendous. 60% ESL estimate is really not bad at all.
I worked for L&H out of West Palm Beach
and I really miss them.  They were the best company I ever worked for in this business, treated us fairly and with respect.  I worked for MQ when I first started out working at home in about 1995 and didn't stay with them long.  I was so heartbroken when MQ acquired L&H and left shortly after.
That sounds about right for East Coast!
So, now you see that the MTSOs don't really make that much off of us!!!!  Maybe we should thank our lucky stars!!
Not just CA - east coast here and 100K is not all that much
for a couple to make. Many married couples I know make around that it and are just scraping by.
East coast MT/MEs? Saw Futurenet's ad (sm)
and was just curious as to why they have to live on the east coast.  Client preference?  Time zones?
They advertised for east coast ME.
That's what I applied for. I have a FT job too, just want part-time ME at night to give my fingers a rest.
No, they're home on the range in the ole wild west.nm

It is a West Coast account. Rather not mention names. nm

She and her husband run the account.

I think I figured it out. Is this person on the east coast? nm

Most doctors now are from the Middle East or India
so you know they are not going to take these holidays. The Jewish are more involved in financing and banking now.

Today is the last day for a large hospital on the East Coast.
No doubt about it.
North Dallas
I am from about 45 minutes North but closer to Dallas is Prosper and Celina near Frisco, a booming suburb.  Prosper and Celina are small towns not too far from actual Dallas.
TRS in North Carolina

North Shore
In Mass are you talking about. I was supposedly hired by them in 2004. They had me waste my gas and time driving there to train on their system. I was very well qualified if I don't mind saying. The owner has her little canary friend working for her.  They are not a company I would recommend. I feel they are dishonest and sneaky.  The owner sat with her fat arse in her office all day and counted her pennies. There line count was all funky..so just stay away.
Today it's just the NORTH POLE!
Merry merry, happy, happy!
TSLLC of North Carolina??
Anyone know anything about this company?  Looking for good, bad, or otherwise.  Willing to share.  Considering them.  Looking for posts from former or current workers, please.  Cannot find anything on here.
Since when was India in North America?
NAFTA stands for North American Free Trade Agreement; i.e. US, Canada, and Mexico. Since India is not part of North America, they would not be part of the agreement.
North Shore Transcription
Just curious if anyone here has ever worked for NST, Peabody, MA.
Zylomed, North Florida, is there
Thank you in advance.
TRS is in Greensboro, North Carolina, though
I think sometimes address shows as Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
hmm, must also have an office in North Carolina
I googled name, but I too could also tell (by the abbreviation ??) probable not .... Might have more than 1 office???.
No it was acute care up north.

T South
Sold to Indians.  Many people have left them.  Terrible VA account.
About the South...
I live in the south, but I REFUSE to defend any MTSO that would treat anyone like that. I do think you have a point, however, about a company located in the south. Employment wages are definitely lower here. However, the company that offered me 7.5 cpl was in Maryland. I currently work as an IC for a very small company who contracts from the local hospital and I am paid 11 cpl. I was curious what was available out there as an employee, but I'm thinking I will stay right where I am. Something needs to be done. They are taking advantage of the MTs and it's time to fight back.
MVTS North Carolina? Anyone know anything about this company?

North Shore Medical Transcription

Hi,

I just tried to send you an email but am not sure it went through. I worked for NSMT from 1991 till 1995 and all I can say is it's a very reliable and solid employer if you show you can be relied upon as well. It's really nice having a one-on-one rapport with the person(s) running the company. I ran across an ad recently by them on line, and its led by the same woman. She's a tough cookie, no nonsense, but a really good person and a terrific manager. As far as getting work and being paid on time, as an employee that was never a question for me. If she's doing IC these days, just keep in touch with her and she'll work with you I'm sure.

Everyone's different, but I'd say this company is definitely a good bet. I don't know what accounts they have these days, but there was a good variety. I worked on site at the Lahey Clinic most of my time there and it was a super assignment.

North region here and tons of work....nm
