I see your point, 30-year MT, I really do! But, maybe it's not just about us but about everyone who comes after us into this field. I've been a detractor and a supporter of AAMT through the years, but the one thing they did do right was networking - and that's an invaluable tool for those trying to get a foothold in this field. Boards are great for scratching the surface, but face-to-face interaction with seasoned professionals helps newbies on so many levels. A strong, united stateside MT community would be a nice thing to experience once in my life! ;)
