Wonder if who I'm thinking of is who you're talking about? That would explain a LOT. sm

This person gets away with so much, I don't know she's kept her job this long. Getting a timely response from her on even the smallest issue is impossible, and she always has an excuse for why she couldn't __________. And, she seems to lose her internet connection more than anybody I know, and it's always conveniently for a 3-day weekend. Or she'll take 9 days off to go to a 4-day convention. Or she'll take a long weekend and then conveniently be sick on her return day. I've never seen so many excuses. She gets away with it, though. It's not like she's even a good manager on the days she is around; she doesn't know anything about site profiles or have any client contacts. About all she does is forward emails from other managers who have taken the time to actually do their jobs.
Does any of this sound like your triple dipper?

nm
You're not thinking about... (sm)
They may very well be requested to sign no-compete contracts. That is, do not get into the MTSO business for X number of years, do not contact existing clients, etc. :-((
there is no MDI-IT, you're thinking of MD-IT (nm)
Z
If you're thinking of QA, don't be
are times you'll be working around the clock on backlog and expected to jump in at the drop of a hat.
Yes, you're right. Thinking of QA.
Haven't done that either. I'll be screwed if ever I have to do something other than straight transcription.
If you're thinking of quitting

I rarely ever post but I just wanted to let people know what happened to me so they can avoid the same experience I had. i'm not gonna mention the name of the company here, but anyone who works for this company knows the problems they've had with their payroll and getting their direct deposits on time.. and how the owner is uncaring about how many bounce fees she causes everyone to have to pay, or how people can't pay their bills when their DD doesnt show up until Monday. She just turns off her IMs and doesnt answer emails. Really great person to work for..   Well.. aside from those problems, i just wanted to warn people that when you do decide to finally leave the company, just be sure she doesnt owe you anything before you leave. Do a slow down, so that she owes you as little as possible by the time you quit, unless you don't have any equipment, like a foot pedal or anything, that she sent you that she can use to justify holding your final check(s). She has done this to a few people I know of..and I'm sure there's lots more I don't know. I can't say if she pays right away if you don't have equipment,.she probably does ...but I know what happens if you do!!

I had a foot pedal that belonged to her, and she held my final TWO CHECKS on me. She owed me one full check and for two or three days into a new pay period and held them both. When my next to last check didn't show up as expected and I called to ask her about it, she said its "company policy" to roll all money owed into one final check. She happened to be on vacation, so I returned the equipment, but still had to wait from the 4th of April until the 26th when she returned from vacation.. I waited and still didn't receive any money from her, so I emailed her multiple times with no response.. Then i happened to check my bank balance and found out she had deposited the check for the 2-3 days in my account..but the full check she owed me wasn't there.  I had expected a paper check from her, so I didnt check my balance for a while..I just happened to check it. When i emailed her about the money, she didnt even bother to answer me to say she had deposited it, so its a good thing I checked or I'd still be waiting.  I finally called her. since she refuses to answer emails, and she said she would look into what happened with the other check first thing Monday morning...This was last Friday.. today I FINALLY got my money from her.  only more than a full month and 266.00 in bounce fees later!!   So, the good news is she will probably pay you..eventually...but who wants to wait over a month with no check?  I know I had extenuating circumstances because she happened to go on vacation, but she also did payroll early, and there was no way I could have gotten the pedal back to her before she did payroll. She knew she was going to hold both checks and didn't bother to tell me that when I emailed her to tell her I had mailed the pedal back and would be expecting my check as usual on April 14th.. so I got a nice little shock when my DD just didnt show up on the 14th.  Maybe others get their money a little sooner, but still ..who wants to wait for their checks for that long.  Well anyway, I decided to let people know what happened to me, just so they can avoid it happening to them.

You're thinking of Paradigm.
I worked there too. Yes, they were both very nice. They paid me a really good cpl and I loved my account. When I moved I had to give back my C-phone. I have seen them advertise here in the last 6 months or go.
You're right. I was thinking TransTech Solutions. Sorry.
Not sure what another TTS would be.
I don't know what you're talking about

I think you're talking about
the company I just left, so here's my experience: Last August, we went from a very good program where I could do 250 to 300 lph WITHOUT Expanders to the DQS program WITH EXPANDERS, it's now ten months later, and I'm very, very fortunate to do 150 to 200 lph. I have 29 years of experience and am pretty quick...this is the number one reason I left...if you're going to DQS, expect to lose about 25% of your line count. I never could figure it out and never could get my PS interested enough to return my emails about it. Hope this helps.
Are you sure we're talking about the same
company? I wasn't aware of a rental fee, I know I don't pay one. I'm not sure where the job hopping came from....and I agree that you have the right to judge a company by what you read about it, but when you are reading good things why create a negative?
I know EXACTLY who you're talking about
hmmm?
I Believe I Know What Co. You're Talking About

If I'm right, it doesn't get better.  Ever.

Good luck!

You don't know what you're talking about
I never said I was leaving because of VR. I simply asked if anyone gave 2 weeks notice. I happen to have a job lined up with a hospital (no more MTSOs) earing in a week what I make at TT in a month. I would have left TT anyway for this job.
see post below "if you're thinking of quitting"
that's the one.
you're right, about SE taxes; wasn't thinking about IC status with that.
nm
How can you KNOW what you're doing without THINKING you know what you're doing?
/
Well, as you said, that's as an IC. I think we're talking about employees. nm
x
I think you're talking about Transhealth. NM
nm
Sounds like you're talking about
TranScam. That's not their real name, just their earned nickname.

It used to be hospitals would train people, but it's very expensive and time-consuming. I think your friend could find that only if she lived in India.
6 cpl - I hope you're talking about
editing, here.  You have 4 years' acute care experience and should be making at least 8 cpl.  IC should pay more since they don't have to pay benefits.  Check the job board out.  I'm sure you'll find something.
You have no idea what you're talking about. sm
Most MTSO's do not make a fortune. They barely make the money that they would be paid hourly if you put all the hours together that they do. I was sick of working 18 hours a day, 7 days a week. I made good money on paper, about $150,000 a year, but that was working 18 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. That is about $23.00 an hour. I make more per hour as an MT and have evenings off, can play with my daughters, can eat hot meals without interruption. I work 5 days a week, 8 hours a day now and love it.

I could've afforded a yacht and a summer home and a lot of other things but I sure wouldn't have had time to use them or enjoy them. I spent too much time chasing MT's who did not do their jobs, had every excuse in the world as to why they did not meet their required lines, and making customers happy. No thank you. MTSO's can keep their wonderful lives. Mine is much better now.
Okay, then we're talking about a DIFFERENT 'CB'
I am CrankyBeach, sometimes (often) referred to as 'CB' on this board, by others (not by myself).

While I am certainly a cranky beach, I am nobody's supervisor, have not been anybody's supervisor EVER in the MT world, and I really don't even want a promotion... I've been there, done that (I was head of a billing department for many years), and I actually prefer being a minion. I've been at Transcend since April 1, 2009, when TRS was bought out. The only national companies I have ever worked for have been TRS and Transcend, which more or less amounts to the same thing.

So anybody named 'CB' who might have gotten a promotion in the latest merger is NOT me. Just trying to clarify the record....
Yes, you left out the fact that you don't know what you're talking about. sm
Keystrokes pays unemployment in every state that we have employees in (38 at this point).

Supply reference books? Supply fax machine? Yes. If someone cannot get something that will help them, the owner of Keystrokes always helps out.

My husband is a tradesman. He is an employee and is union. He has had to pay for his own tools, his own vehicle to and from work, his own clothes that are destroyed constantly, his own gas. Why should transcription be any different?

I have worked for Keystrokes for 5 years. I transcribe when needed, as many as 15,000 lines per pay period. I have had slow periods like everyone else.

Yes, I get paid a salary I earn in. If you want to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, filling in when transcriptionists call in or don't start their shift on time, giving up hot meals and nights out because a Transcriptionist cannot work their shift, then become management.

I have heard every excuse in the book. I have proofed work from experienced transcriptionists that look like a novice transcribed it. I have worked schedules around everyone's personal lives.

Think management is all fun and games? Think again. I make a good dollar because I earn it.
Depends on if you're talking about US employees only or
Still at about 12K total including ICs and ILPs.

I hope I don't get that account you're talking about either.
I am a little scared now.
You're right. You have no idea what I'm talking about. Typical. nm
djf;lkj;
You're probalby talking about Cardioscribes, right?

attempting to cover that is beyond me.  Everyone you deal with regarding the work flow is from India.  Try to call the owner and you're hooked into a call center.

The latest large incentive they're talking about is...sm
for the BeyondTXT editing program and details were given to everyone working on that platform. Other incentives are for various accounts at various times and details are provided by the ROM for those accounts as those incentives are put into place. The holiday incentive is for everyone, MDI as well as Transcend employees. This is for 3 cpl for all lines transcribed on the 6 national holidays as long as you meet the criteria outlined in the policy. If you do not have a copy of this and would like to receive it, e-mail me and I'll be happy to send it to you.
Just hold on a second! You're the one who is on here acting superior and talking about weeding o

"bad" transcriptionists.  Can't help but wonder how good you are when you can't even form a complete sentence.

I love it when people get on here and criticize others' abilities and talk about bad Transcriptionist when their own posts are so sloppy.  I love the excuse, "I'm not working now."  I try to be literate whether I'm working or not.  I don't have to put on my "literacy hat" when I go to work.  I wear it all the time, and although I certainly understand typos and make my fair share of them, I don't understand how or why someone chooses not to be literate simply because they're not working but suddenly transforms into a competent, literate person when they are working.  I just don't get it.  I guess for some, literacy truly is WORK.

Like I said, everyone makes mistakes.  But the next time you sit up there on your pedestal, criticize others and talk about weeding out "bad" transcriptionists, you might want to proofread your own stuff so it doesn't come back to bite you in the butt.

Computter computer? Now what are you talking about? Honestly, you're like a nosy neighbor
budding into halfway thru a conversation! What are you talking about getting fired on a computer?  You are lame, girl!! We WERE having an adult conversation here. BusyMTing and I are understanding each other just fine! Go back outside and play with your friends!
At first I was thinking that you were being unrealistic, not thinking about taxes, benefits, etc. bu
surprised to find that you are not asking the moon. Let me clarify a few things: Rates charged are not as high as 0.25 per line, but no one that has U.S. employees goes as low as 0.115 or they would not be able to pay their bills. A more realistic range is 0.125-0.165, and that top end is hard to find, most falling at 0.14-0.15 per line.

The rates of pay you propose are very reasonable IF the following is true: These are seasoned MTs who do not need a lot of hand-holding, QA or blanks filled in, unless a very difficult/impossible doctor.

How about a scale based on experience and accuracy of 0.09 - 0.105 per line (acute care), and $1.15-$1.30 per report (radiology)?

The VR one is tough as everyone, MTs and MTSOs and facilities are still feeling their way on this. As an MTSO who was an MT, I feel that VR editing is as difficult to do as regular transcription. I don't think that it should be substantially less pay or charged less as the end product is still the same.

Funny thing here? My company already follows that scale. We should work together, not at odds, to reinforce this industry and bring it back to where it should be, right here in the U.S.A. with a decent paycheck.
Not talking about lines. Talking about what you actually
afsd
Please explain what that should tell me.
I'm thinking of applying with Spheris.  I also know someone who works for Transcend and was offered a job with Spheris.  I don't want either of us to make a mistake.
right - have tried to explain this before and

Being paid twice a month will have an average period of 15 days on each check (usually averages 11 working days if you work 5 days a week).  Being paid every 2 weeks will have 14 days on each check (10 working days if you work 5 days a week).  At the end of the year your total gross for the year would be the same either way, you would just either get 26 checks a year or 24 fatter ones.

Can you explain that, please? nm
//
pls explain

I have all but been hired by Amphion, and would like to know why I should not take a job with them before I quit my current job.

let me explain
They had a position 2nd shift but needed this person to do 1-2 dys 3rd shift as well. I was hesitant about this but was considering it and told them so. They SD they knew someone who liked 3rd shift and they were going to see if they could get that person to do the 3rd shift hrs and give me just 2nd shift hrs. When I did not hear from them re this job for a few days I emailed and she told me - oh, we hired someone who would do the 2nd & 3rd shift hrs.

Did not bother to let me know at any point on their own that they'd decided to hire someone else - I had to contact them. SHE offered to make this adjustment in order to accommodate me, I did not ask and had even sd that I probably cd do the 3rd.

It was just all to reminiscent of irresponsible mgmt for me.
Please explain????
I'm looking at an ad for a Transcriptionist and it says full-time position in subspeciality group medical/surgical practice. Could you help me out and tell me what kind of practice this might be. Thanks so much!!
Can someone explain this to me, please?

What is the point of a company telling you that you are hired and giving you a start date, but then you have to remind them to get the materials to you in order to begin working?  This just happened to me for the first time in my career.  I am sitting here waiting for the second day now.  Is this a sign that if they cannot even get me into their system to work that they are probably unorganized and uncaring?  I already e-mailed them and am awaiting a response.  Not sure what else to do!  I am not used to being treated this way.

please explain this
there are jobs posted on the job board with the posted by  name and then once you click to get more info several of them say contact place is Webmedx.  Is Webmedx like a chain??
Please explain DD because when I was there

I had DD and pay dates were the 15th and 30th but my check never made it to the bank until a week later - sometimes more.  I always thought DD was a faster way to deposit??

Could you please explain why...

I am the only one you come back at. The 2 posts above mine are derogatory, but it is only me you accuse of stirring things up. I once worked at QT but I do not now. I did not ask any questions about pay or whatever.

You're wrong, ha ha.....how old are you???

Could you please explain this...sm
Just getting ready to start applying for some escription work, but now I am confused as to how it works.  Thanks for any details you can offer on this pay scenario.
Please explain then
Why -- when I had questions the ops manager seemed to be in the dark, never gave me straightforward answers but the runaround. Can you explain that one please?
What I would do is to explain to her that sm
you do not know of anyone and leave it at that. If she keeps asking, let her know that you have a policy against referring anyone anywhere so as not to get caught in the middle and you do not compromise on that for anyone. If that doesn't work, tell her that she is out of line and not to contact you. Try tactful twice and if she is dumb-as-a-post after that, be blunt :)
Can you explain?
How can you cross one of the QA people?
Well then explain....
Let us all in on it.
You don't have to explain anything
Some people just don't have anything nice to say and like to judge others. Good luck with your situation.
Let me explain...sm

I was not in any way talking about a typo at all...just saying that if you have the correct spelling of the company name, then you'll have success in getting past posts to come up on the search function.

There are a lot of posts on DR in the past few months, they should come up if you try again with the correct spelling.

Let me explain a bit...
Yes, you can discuss any topic you like for as long as you like within reason. However, there has been a trend on this board with attacks directed towards TT. We are not affiliated or sponsored by TT, so you can be assured we're not simply taking their side as some have nicely put it. In monitoring these threads we have become aware of the fact that all of these negative threads have been started by 1 poster. The basis of our closing these threads or removing these threads entirely is not on the direct question at hand. Merely stating that your deposit is later than usual, as you usually get it earlier than payday, is fine. These threads have gone beyond that point and made such accusations as the company is going out of business, that they're going bankrupt, etc., etc. These are all accusations that are completely outrageous and are simply an attempt to either get posters fighting or attack the company itself.

As well, these threads have ALL spiraled out of control to be completely off the subject at hand and turned into name-calling, abusive battles, which will be deleted regardless of what you're posting about.

I personally very nicely shut some down yesterday, and the same poster came back on today with more of the same. Certainly, we could delete those immediately rather than see where the conversation might be, but that would be a little higher on the censorship scale.
