I'm not far from all those places.  Grew up between Rogers and Bentonville, which was way out in the country then.  Now it's just off 540.  We usually go to the War Eagle Fair.  I LOVE their pecan cobbler.  Their cook told me how to make it and sometimes I make it in the Dutch oven.

Your Mom and I must have had something in common, I still call people gourdhead and it isn't a compliment either. LOL
