Yes, plenty. Occasional slow days, but they are few and far between and usually

There's a difference between over hiring and the occasional work slow down. sm
Every company has some times that are busier than others. That doesn't make the recruiter a liar.
Not at all. It tends to be a slow season but I have plenty of work.
..
Is there plenty of work these days
Checking before I apply, looks like some are running out of work.
Yes! I have plenty of work 99% of the time with the exception of a very few days sm
when it was slow everywhere but nothing that has ever affected my check drastically. I have been there for 6 years.
Horribly slow, worse some days more than others.

We got an e-mail this week that there was a message on the community board, thought I didn't think it really said much and there was no timeline for a fix.   My STM said a fix was on the front burner.  I'm doing about 400 less lines a day at least.

Seems like I'm working 12, though clock says only 7.

I have to agree. My MTSO has had a lot of days recently of slow to no work but there is no way I'
jump from the frying pan into the fire. I can't afford to take a chance. Thanks for sharing your situation.
I've been on OT all but 2 days the past 4 months. If work is slow
that just means we get a chance to get caught up with TAT.  Get paid for downtime too if no work.
always slow this time of year...doctors take extra days off, et cetera.
it will pick back up again soon...
I encountered slow to no work the weeks preceding Thanksgiving and several days after but the past
few days it has picked up. Can I ask which account/accounts your on? I think that makes a difference. Mine are part f the Escription platform. I honestly got really ticked a few weeks ago when we had no work and they were still hiring. For one, it's bad enough when we have to share some of our work with the Indians, but how fair it is to hire these poor people who think they are getting work where there is none.  It makes no sense to me either. Why not provide work to your current employees than drive them away by taking on too many new people.
Yes occasional OT on weekend, but then

little to none during the week.  The account that lost a work type is sending other work types, but lines/minutes no where close to what was lost.  The account that sends all the work, we also inherited their MTs, so no more work for current MTs.

WMX and occasional low work. (sm)

At one point we got a message from management about it, encouraging us to hold on as they worked through the issues.  Often get updates from STM about work flow, i.e. YEAH we have work/ Work is low, let's hope for better day tomorrow, etc.  It is just nice to know they are aware and care about the situation and how it impacts us.

I have had to flex my schedule a few times, but that is no biggie really.  At least I have a company that only uses US MTs, pays us on time and a decent wage and seems to truly care about us.

Worked for MQ for a long time and will take early retirement before I ever work for another company that blatantly outsources.

WMX may not be perfect, but it is the best I have found.

I work Mon-Fri and occasional weekends as needed but have done this
by choice. I have never been forced to work a weekend. I am a high producer. I don't complain or take up any time of my Lead. I have only had one report rejected ever on this account and it was transposing patient numbers. I double-check now. I started at $1.10 per report, make $1.25 now and $1.81 per report for holidays. I only worked one holiday last year, the 4th of July, because they took volunteers first.

I am FT days but will work in the evenings if needed. Those days I have had 200-250 reports so it was worth it to me, but I try not to so I don't burn out.
Got that right! Except for occasional freezing, I've loved it for years! nm
s
That is what I just said. !0 days PTO, period. That includes vacation, sick days and personal days
They should have paid holidays so that you are paid if you take off. Also should inculde extra hours for sick days and personal days.

That annual raise of .002 is kind of a joke especially when at the same time they upped the minimum line requirement from 10,000 lines to 12,000 lines.

OSi just does not have the qualified people in management positions that I wish to work for.

I am glad that you are happy at OSi and all is working out for you. Their dishonesty and the way they treat people just does not work for me.

Of course they can get by cheaply by hiring unqualified people so that is very good for the owners.
Depends on the account. Work on VR lately has been slow. Just like all companies, we have slow times

Honestly though, I have only had 2-3 times in the past 2 years where it was like the other day...no work... It did pick up later but I just think it's important not to make someone think we're overloaded with work all the time. That would not be fair to them if they end up with high expectations.

No - it is not always slow! Depends on the company and hospital. I have never been slow this time
Slow time is usually in September when everyone is back to work/school from the summer months.

Been doing this 24 years and never slow this time of year. Actually, I am drowning in work - can't keep up.
right now plenty of work, also plenty of ESLs.nm
nm
Plenty of BOTH on my end, I do traditional have plenty of work, always
nm
You bill 30 days behind, and they snail mail it so it's late - about 40 days from invoice
No way jose - they even messed up their direct deposit payments
Maybe she/he works 14 hour days/7 days a week? nm
x
Would that be 5 business days or 5 regular days?
So when are we going to be paid this time around since you're so knowledgable?

Sorry, but for some of us a day or 2 actually makes a difference.
Most want 20 hours over 5 days, but it could be more, or it could be spread over 4 days. nm

Correction - TH has 5 PTO days 1st year/10 days 2nd yr

Axolotl within 30 days. Transolutions in 60 days. NM

It is true. Any job has its good days and bad days.
Perhaps you'd like to just keep your old job and try this one out. Just because a poster here is crabbing about it, or even if as in the past there have been negative posts, odds are that there are very happy people who don't even post or know that this board exists. As Alice says. Everything is relative. The fact that this company is hiring and pays may be a place which is a blessing. As opposed to digging ditches on day labor for example. Or somebody might prefer digging ditches. This is just an example. Sometimes we who are employable, even though we don't make as much as we used to in this business, or as much as we would like to, we still if working at home do not pay for gas to go to work, career clothes, deal with office politics, have to look at a boss who writes us up if we are a minute late, etcetera. I don't make half as much as I used to, but I don't send my 3 children to day care which by the way saves us money. SO I remind my husband I am worth that in addition to my salary if I had a job outside. No job is perfect. I am not even sure if Focus is any good or not, I have not worked there. But if one poster says there are good days and bad, I say that is the most honest answer you are going to get anywhere, and if you need a job badly, how is it to hurt trying it out, until you know for sure for yourself? THanks for listening. But sometimes this board gets to be a bit much with the agendas of people railing on other people like the OP here who just wanted all opinions instead of just one side. Balance is always great. And, if things seem lop-sided, then it is a good thing to seek out both sides. IMHO.
I think they would. Those are good days for 10-hour days. sm
I have a set schedule but it is Tues-Sat and it works well for me. It wouldn't hurt to ask!
90 days is correct. 3 days off 1st year, 10 during 2nd.
nm
Were the 2 days weekend days? sm
They expect everyone to work a weekend day. Their definition of team player is to actually work 6 or 7 days a week. One might consider it if the pay was there & she gave out some decent work. It is the ideal place to work if you are a workaholic with no life.
11 days is more than you would get inhouse...usually 10 days.
We have the convenience of working at home and yet you want MORE than what inhouse positions offer?

Ask if those are calendar days or biz days too nm

They had MTs - plenty of them
The problem was - trying to keep them.  As above, checks constantly bounced.  At payday time - all the managers would disappear, as would the owners.  When this happens every other payperiod  - I think the company has financial issues.  This is not to mention,  he was outsourcing this account, about 60% of the work, half of this was sent through to the hospital as he did not want to pay editors to edit the crap.  Again, several issues.  They make everything sound great - but once you start, reality sets in and quick.
I have plenty and then some
Hello

I have plenty with them. I work on a radiology acount though so it is not quite the same. I have a secondary acute care account, but never seem to get around to typing on it as I have so much to do on the radiology one. Most of the time the updates I get for the accounts I see fluctuate but mostly have work. I know each account is different. Etranplus has its bad points like any other company. I have certain things I do not like. I have also had way worse experiences. I have found it to be a good fit for me for 15 months now and finally got to do my first love of radiology. I wish you the best. If you need to get a secondary account and then you can decide to keep two or leave one or the other when things stabilize for you. Good luck!
There are plenty....
...but they may require that you know how to spell the word 'editing' correctly.
yes plenty what ya need
one part timer
Same here, plenty now.
Did my time card while waiting for the work to come in. Now I am buried. Feast or famine.
I'm doing ME and there seems to be plenty.
Fairly new and not sure how the MT or QA side of things might be.
you seem to have plenty
of time to post, must be due to all the cash you have socked away.
Plenty

I have plenty.
nm

Plenty here too
A bit slow a few weeks ago, but not too bad, didn't effect my pay, just adjusted my schedule a little bit. Now have more than enough work. If you have no work for months at a time, why would you stay?
Plenty of work
nm
OSI has plenty of work to go around...
...but since hurricane katrina hit, things have been kind of slow. I think they have a big account in Louisiana that got hit pretty hard and it shut down. Since then they have had to move MTs from that account to other accounts. I've been running a little low on work too (just every now and then), but I like OSi so I'm willing to stick it out. I'm sure everything will get back up to speed soon.
If you have plenty of experience and don't need...
any help, they are fine.  They don't have any QA.  You are pretty much on your own.  Do your work on time, and do it well, and you'll be okay.
Yep, I have plenty of backups, too. nm
nm
Plenty of work...sm
I don't generally post on companies I worked for because in the long run it doesn't seem like opinions matter, for some it may suck and for others it is great.  I worked for them for a couple of years and had to leave due to needing insurance.  There was always plenty of work and if you are a hard worker, you'll make money, get paid on time, etc.  The accounts were incredibly stable and extremely easy compared to acute care.
P.S.. you have plenty of work?
nm
Plenty of work at MDI

Hi Freebird,  I was just passing through and saw your note.

I have been with MDI-MD for a little over a year now.  The only slowdown I have ever experienced was around Christmas and New Year's.  Right now there is plenty of work on all of the hospitals that I cover.

I have been in this business for a long time, am a former MQer, and I just love this company.  The work is not for newbie's, but if you are an experienced acute care Transcriptionist you will have no problems.  The staff at MDI-MD are professional and gracious, the platform is the best I have ever worked with, the pay is great and always on time, and the flexibility is wonderful. I wish you luck!

I do all Ops and there is plenty work available for anyone who wants just
Ops and is good at them.
There are plenty of jobs out there.
.
I have plenty of work.
Have you tried asking for another account?
Plenty of work

Good line rate with incentive pay and shift differential.  Good benefits.  Sick time, PTO, plenty of work.  I'm happy.  Normals are right in their platform, which is handy and helps production.

Anyone else care to chime in?
