I saw somewhere where somebody said they got paid every Friday. Somebody else said about once a month. I don't know. Their website looks promising. I'm in the process of getting the test ready to send now. I'm not sure if I'll even finish it.

I have just taken a test that must be designed to get into medical school with all of the choose the correct, fill in the blank and give the definition, was sooo..long.... and so intense, and why do we have to take 5 voice tests, don't they understand if you can do one or two, you must know what you are doing? Just tired I guess trying to find a good fit after doing this for 20 years.

It was for DR and it was just long and timed too.

I'm in the middle of taking the test myself
and I am so relieved to hear that I'm not the only one experiencing significant trouble! I have 10 years' experience, but that is useless when dealing with this quality (or lack thereof) of dictation!

It was the actual doctor that would be the client, and the names of the clients were on the test......!!!!  Can you say HIPAA ?????  I immediately stopped the test and did not even respond to the recuriter.  Definately not right no matter what it is... 
I think taking the test now will speed up the process.

It has  a place for you to submit resume, so they have resume and test together.  If you haven't heard anything in a couple of days call.


Anyone actually get a callback from taking the test at Keystrokes with their recent ad? sm

If so, how long before you heard from them?  I took the test yesterday and just wondering what to expect.  I think I did relatively well with it...had one blank though...but still pretty good.

Is Etransplus worth taking a test which last 1 1/2hrs

Hello,  I am currently working with a company but need to change due to lack of benefits.  Etrans has sent me a couple of emails about joining them, but I wanted to know if anyone works there, is it worth it to take that test for 1 1/2 hours, when I could be transcribing.  Also, what type of accounts do they have and do they have anything that is entirely online and does not need a phone line to dial into a system, would love to drop my $40.00 a month bill for unlimited long distance.

I bothered taking the test weeks ago and never heard. You would think...
they could at least say either way, hey, you did not pass the test etc... but I never even got that.  I even took someone's advise and followed up by emailing HR and asking them if they could let me know either way but I took the time to do the testing as well as I had been also testing with others and needed to know whether to keep waiting on them or move on. Obviously, I moved on. I find it totally unprofessional to ask someone to take time enough to test and then they cannot even have the common courtesy to tell you that you stink or whatever. I could handle the truth, but to never heard anything, UNPROFESSIONAL. I do wish you great luck and maybe they just only contact those who pass and let the rest of us figure it out on our own.

Anyone know how long it takes to hear back from Prescyse after taking the test?

Anyone else have problems taking USA Type test? Cant get my comp to play the sound file.
Any suggestions? I really want to take the test but their sound file keeps loading onto my music program, and when I try to load it on Windows Medial Player it tells me I need codecs, so how would I find that to load?

Need help with Webmedx's time clock. I am contemplating a position sm

with them and right now I have to clock in and out and hate it.  I wonder if I'm jumping right back into the same situation as I was told they, too, have a time clock.  After being an IC for so many years, I really hate this.


So, how is it? Do you find that Webmex is a little flexible at least?  I just don't know if I should keep looking or what.  Thanks so much for anyone with experience with their time clocks!

I took a test for a company and my foot pedal would work with the test and I had keep going back
over the dictation time and again to get all the words because I couldnt stop and start it by the foot pedal.  What can I do about this.
Just took the test myself. No actual dictation to transcribe. Just a written test.
For 13 cpl, I might do it if the dictators aren't a total horror.
I just took the test today - thought it was a great test of MT skills.

There is no written test. Must have been a different company. I took their ortho test sm
and it was easy. You had to know your terminology but it was easy to understand AND I used my foot pedal.

Run for the hills! Don't get suckered into joining them cuz they may offer 10 cpl as it is not worth it; also not worth sacrificing every weekend for chump change. They say they offer competetive wages in their ads but yet they don't offer incentive or shift differential. No wonder everyone leaves as there are greener pastures.

I can't see any MTSO getting involved in this. I know plenty of MTSOs or their loyal workers read here. I warn people when I can and give credit to a good company when I run across them. If a company worries you, don't work for them. There are hundreds of companies to choose from. :-)

Just sounds like a bunch of people got up on the wrong side of the bed today. Everyone seems to be crabbing here. I know this is a company board, but why the personal attacks? I think possibly the attendings were not in lately maybe because of the holidays and a lot of docs who work for the Hospital Admitting dictated. It does not happen in droves all the time but it happens. And about people liking certain work types, that is good for the company, everyone just should be prepared to do everything if the company knows they have the talent. In my 20 years of experience things usually even out. Especially at a place as good a TT with the kind of leadership it has. Not to be goody goody, but if someone was worried about too much ESL or some other problem, why not just reduce stress instead of crabbing on this board. IMO. Of course now you can crab at me, but that's okay, I'll just have an egg nog and forget about it (see gab board). LOL

If you like coding, go back to school for that. No way should anyone be doing QA fresh out of school. Good luck to you!

That was the reason why I was thinking about applying was because my company has been very low on work almost all month, and I wanted something more stable. I guess I'll have to think twice about them then. Thanks for the heads up!

WOW! This is absolutely ridiculous!  There are some really unhappy and mean people on this board.  It really isn't anyone's place to point out grammar/spelling mistakes.  I get emails all the time from my supervisors I work for with typos and incorrect grammar and puncuation in them - WHO CARES?  I do it as well - I am more relaxed in my correspondence, but when it comes to my job, I am extremely conscientious about it.  That's how I make my money.  And the companies know this.  They aren't going to fire you or dock your work because you left off a comma or used an elipses in the wrong form.  I also have a side business where I deal with the Mayor, City Council, and various others in government and they all write like me too! 


You posters who scream and belittle people for things like this really have issues.  Major control issues.  Get some help and leave the rest of these people alone.  Take a yoga class, do some meditation, go for a hike, have a couple cocktails - do something to relieve the stress and unhappiness in your lives.  You can't control the world, honestly.  To the posters who are like me and just relax when we write because we aren't getting paid to do otherwise, keep it up!  I definitely keeps the stress level down.  Don't let these OCD'ers and control freaks get to you - and most of all, don't get sucked into their pettiness.

Undercutting ... yikes!
That's not a great practice. That can hurt MTs in the long run because it lowers our pay. If the national can make that line rate, you should be worth it -- or at least darn near -- too! You really just shortchange yourself. Being competitive is one thing but undercutting is another. Make sure you know the difference!!! Competitive means you are within a cent or two of the competition. Undercutting means you accept way less, thus making it look like MTs in general just overcharge and don't deserve the higher pay. Keep it competitive but don't undercut! We deserve just as much as the nationals and maybe even more so don't hang yourself. If you give the impression that you're willing to do the same work for much less, you may have a really hard time raising rates later. Not to mention, other MTSOs will blacklist you for it and if you ever need a job, you may have difficulty finding one. MTSOs exchange info about undercutters all the time.

I speak from experience so just a word to the wise.

yikes. i am a high producer. with the changes at Q,
my pay has taken a HUGE cut, so I hate to jump from the frying pain into the fire. I transcribe and edit, and I am definitely feeling the pinch and have to decide this weekend. Thanks for the info...much appreciated

I'd also be curious to see if any companies actually are still using that. I can't imagine anyone still having it but you never know. Do you really like working on this now that we're on like WP 12??
