They've been trying to recruit me for several times.  I've gotten emails, and today got a phone call.  Payrate sounds good, benefits sound really good and not expensive, requirements sound reasonable.  So, are they as good as it sounds or not?  How are communications within?  I've heard they offshore, but frankly I'm not turned off by that because I think 95% or more of the companies do now and figure that it is just part of the industry now. 

They pay the same as the company I'm working for right now, but the benefits are cheaper and start sooner.  I'm just wondering if it is too good to be true.

mostly -- are the lines an absolute bear to get; i.e., will I have to work 12 hours a day to get 1000 lines?  Or do they seem fairly fair won?

Answer to any or all of the 9 following questions would be much appreciated:

1.  What platform do they use?  User Friendly? 

2.  Benefits.  Which health insurance carrier?  PPO?  HMO? 

3.  What is the deductible amount (employee coverage, no family). 

4.  Accounts:  High ESL?  Enough work?  Back up accounts?   

5.  QA:  Too much?  Too little?  Constructive or too critical? 

6.  Email communication timely? 

7.  Is hiring process drawn out?

8.  Equipment arrive in timely fashion?

9.  Pay on time? 

I looked in the archives but nothing more recent than a year ago.  Is it IC or emplyee, ad did not say and email received from them did not say.  Pay on time?  Sound quality?  Pressure from admin to do more, more, more? 

Thanks in advance -- want to do the voice file from them, but would like to know opinions first. 

if some of those who work at these companies could email me I would appreciate it.  Looking at possibly making a change soon and just wanting to ask some specific questions and chat about your experiences with them.  Thanks!

Has anything changed in 9 months? Particular worries are the invoice/pay time; one post mentioned 2 to 3 week wait and another post stated 1 week. Info from the company states pay is sent out 10 days after the last day of the billing period, but we all know what is said and what is done isn't always the same. Another concern is the platform; some mentioned it was slow and cumbersome. They have 2 platforms from what I can gather.. Are they both slow? It seemed like certain specialties were done on certain platforms, or at least that is what I got out of the archives. I really hate to jump from the frying pan to the fire so any info would be VERY much appreciated.. the good, bad, and the ugly! TIA!!

someone asks info on a company that was just discussed the day before.  There are other forums besides this one too where you can get info on companies.  Post your resume on the various job boards.  There are companies that do not post ads but hire from the resumes.   My current position I was hired from my resume and I have been offered a couple of other positions from companies who contacted me from my resume who did not post ads. 

I work for a good company and honestly they are not hiring.  Other MTs do seem to get upset when people will not tell them what company they work for.  I don't believe they are afraid of losing their job to someone else (at least for the most part I don't), but they don't want the company to overhire.  There are many posts on the boards about people not having work for days on end because companies are overhiring.

good about them.  They switch you from account to account. They have had management problems for many years.  Their line counting is difficult to figure out and they dock you for lots of things.  They also offshore and are currently training women in Trinidad and somewhere else so you know what that means.   Some of their accounts are teaching hospital and I worked on one of them and the dictation quality was horrendous.  If you're a newbie I doubt they'd put you on it though. 

There are worse companies out there, but I still wouldn't recommend TRS. 

will run as fast as you can.  They are not are reputable company and I'm not even sure they are a transcription company at all, but a front just to rob you blind.  We call them TransScam. 

There are multiple unresolved complaints with the BBB.
