Your moniker is Overseas MT, which is very confusing.

Your post was fraught with errors.  You didn't even get the gender of the owner right.

I realize this is a message board, people write quickly and are bound to make typos.  Many of your errors simply weren't typos, though.

If I were an MTSO reading your post, I don't think I'd invite you to work for me.  Sorry.

Why move all the work for Heartland overseas, are the MTs overseas that much better?
Why? Why do this.  It is my understanding that in time that work will be coming right back.  Are the overseas MT's in Banglador or wherever better.  Don't the companies that offshore worry about the quality of the work, HIPPA issues, patient's confidentiality, etc.  Why don't they care?  Mark my words, those MT's are not better than us, they have US editors, etc to help them out.  They cannot land a new account US-based and compete with any US mt's.  What a  sad day.  I pray for all the Heartland MTs.
Same moniker but different MT
Yes, they offer part time, but no benefits. The requirements are 1/2 of what is required for full time. I started full time and went part time also because of health issues. Since I decided there are more important things in life than money, life is now wonderful and I have the best of both worlds.
Someone else also uses the same moniker, but

I have provided my suggestions to TPTB at Webmedx on how to improve the system.

If the platform is slow and you can't make lines than your paycheck is going to be less.  The people can me as nice as can be, but that isn't going to pay my bills and I don't need the benefits.

If I were the only one that had an issue with Enterprise there wouldn't be the e-mails and the postings on the community board promising to make it better, so obviously there are others with issues with it.

duh, I never even looked at your moniker

I would ask for a different primary, but I'm not sure I would go into details with your liason at the risk of jeopardizing a good working relationship with him/her.  Good luck.

how about 'retard' as a moniker for you...sm
It does not matter how short or elaborate a moniker is, it can be traced through the boards, comprende??
That's what you obviously want to avoid, making you totally anonymous.
Comprende?! Obviously NOT.
How old are you? 80?
this is what I mean: If we post under a moniker,..sm
we are not totally anonymous. Posters on this forum recognize and know YOU as 'Fed up,' it is your forum name.

Posters who post without a constant moniker, those are the really anonymous posters and usualy the most offensive ones.
What about posters who use different moniker for
x
I believe the poster's moniker is a clue. ;)

Webmedx?

Like 'it" is a great moniker? LOL nm

Glad to see your moniker back, have
missed you, GP. You hit a nerve with me because I was employed at a hospital, but laid off in 2007 because they were going to save so much money using India or Pakistan, but there's this: By the time they pay QA and editors over here American money and pay the tx's over there, where did they save any money? The equipment is the most exorbitant expense which they still are paying for since they are the parent company of this fiasco. Where they could have saved money was getting away from physical charts and letting go half of the gossiping clerks they had in the clerical side who were mostly concerned about their next dinner, luncheon, who was doing what and how much WE might or might not be making! oh, well, off the soap box...for now.
Your post was ugly and your moniker was a
slap in the face.  I don't know the situation, but why kick someone when they are down.
Love your moniker - gave me a laugh. nm
:-)
I use anonymous email. If I use a moniker it isn't my real name.
It's been like this on this website for a loooong time now! I've been posting anonymously for ages, so I don't know where you get the fact that you can't post anonymously anymore. The email I use is for this website only and doesn't even include my real name.

It's as anonymous as it gets without having a bunch of spam posts invade the boards.

I've liked it for a long time now and still like it. If you don't ... then, well, you know...
I know, but some posters use it as moniker too, especially when typed with capitals..sm
Imagine, I even know that 'sm' means see message, wow, ain't I smart!
They must be confusing themselves with someone..

else..they are the ones that posted this ad on the job board:

Keystrokes has an opening for a radiology MT.

We supply the tower and the footpedal. You supply the monitor and the keyboard and the high speed.

This is a lovely account, clear and concise dictators, fast, but good. Platform is MANTIS, experience preferred, but not required on this platform.

Pay is by the report.

Yes, it is confusing ... sm
MDI-FL is different. They are also a great place to work, and their website is medicaldictation.com. You might want to look at them, also. The two are not affiliated in any way, only their initials are the same!
Thanks, it seemed a little confusing. nm

It is confusing (sm)

I think we can look to other industries as a possible example.

Imagine you need someone to paint 2 rooms in your house.  You speak with a man on Monday and let him know that you need your living room and kitchen painted by Friday 8 p.m., as you have company coming from out of town.  You both agree and create a contract that states his pay ($300), 2 rooms need painting, and the deadline to complete the project.  The end result:  Two rooms painted by Friday 8 p.m. for $300.  The homeowner has a right to specify the end result, but is not managing his hours.  If the homeowner had no control, the painter could finish whenever he wanted.  This would make no sense.  So, the homeowner would have someone come to paint with no idea when it would be finished or how many rooms would be painted?  In MT, the end result could be total lines, number of tapes, etc.

confusing...
It is really confusing, the whole thing, which is why I left.  Everyone is sad, myself included, that the Indian team leads are being let go as well.  They were great to work with and I do know for a fact that they are being replaced with American team leads.  It is confusing that they let the American QA team go in the first place, and from they way it sounds was without warning.  They now have a forum board on Yahoo groups for the MTs to voice concerns and to stay informed.  That was a good move on their part.  If things get better I would like to go back part time.  I guess time will tell the outcome.  Focus was my first company and I wish them the very best.
It is confusing, and while not for the . . .
most part going to change the meaning, I do find it very confusing.  I do use Stedman's and Dorland's as the most reliable sources on these issues..
All so confusing!!!
Wow.
I was referring to the one in FL. Sorry if confusing....NM
xxx
WMX call very confusing
She just went round and round about how much more money we as MTs are making since we are so much more productive with the ISR, yet the example she gave had the MT making $100 less!  I just don't get it. So disillusioned. Their coldness and statistics make me ill.
I think perhaps you're confusing them with another company?
They pay extremely well - higher than any other company I've been able to find.
Sten-Tel....this is getting confusing....please read
Yes, the previous poster below is right, I am referring to the job ad that they had for cardiology and pathology, not the platform or the franchise.  It's the company out of Springfield, MA that I am talking about.  I appreciate some of the feedback I got so far.  It seems that those who are working for them out of MA are happy with their jobs.  I was given an opportunity to work for them as an editor/transcriptionist and all I wanted to know is if they were a decent company to work for.  So, if there are anymore Sten-Tellers out there, I would love to hear from you.  Thanks.
I think they use different programs, very confusing and disorganized
nm
The archive searches here are confusing.
But when I put 'davis' in the second search box down (not the top one, with Google, etc.), just to the right of the ''Post a new message'' button, I got plenty of results.
I think the confusing issue here is the term

Maybe access is a better word.  For instance, I have access to certain accounts for my online company.  As an IC for them, I have no quota to meet, I draw from the pool of dictators.  Now, I have agreed to take on certain dictators that no one else seemed to want to do.  But, if something comes up in my workday, as an IC, I just e-mail the company and they find someone else.  It's that simple and it works great.  Other than that, I draw from the pool of dictators that I have access to for that MTSO.

Assigned means no help from any other MTs; it's all you and when a company assigns you work they should actually be paying you as an employee not an IC.  An IC works piece work meaning each and every sound file is a job or a service you have provided to that company.  You are an MT that provides your skills and they pay you for that service.

The only thing I've found that's difficult in this biz is naming your price with the online MTSOs as an IC.  They seem to name the wage; so that part is tough.

If it is an ongoing relationship, it's also important that you think of this client and/or MTSO on a file by file basis.  One voice file is a job and so on.  There are other MTs in place at the company I work for that will step in and take work, so the downside is that I have to be on my toes if I want more than just what I have agreed to do on a regular basis unless something comes up.

As an IC, I have my own personal clients as well.  But, I consider the online MTSO one of my clients, so I service them all in the same fashion.

In actuality, my own clients are the money makers, and the online MTSO is filler and works very well for me since there are no set hours, no set line quota, and I can not work at all on any particular day.  As a courtesy, I let them know if I'm taking time off, but I really don't have to do that if I don't want to, but I like to because I know that TAT is important.  I respect them and they respect me.

I think you're confusing the deductible with the premium. sm

Family coverage is not $1000 a month in premiums.

TTS has a very low starting pay & a confusing bonus scale. nm
m
To make it confusing, there is also MedScript Services, Inc., and
s
Mediscribe of Indiana, NOT MedScribe, confusing, the first one has ....sm
hired me without testing, which seems great, but should I be worried?  I mean, 18 years experience in all phases, but this was so FAST!  Please, can someone tell me about this company, worked there, info would be so appreciated because the contract does not tell me anything that I do not know....recruiter is Tonya.  TIA!
I guess what is confusing is why keep running new ads if you already have too many resumes
Obviously, they didn't find what they were looking for and are seeking to get more applicants.  I have sent in several resumes to different companies recently and some I have not heard from at all and some did not response for another week or two, but in any case, they did not repost an ad every few days.
This whole IC Transcend thing is totally confusing to me!! sm
I read this board pretty regularly and I recall a few days ago somebody saying how they got an email threatening termination because they were not making the PT status.  When the company I was with was bought by Transcend somebody asked about IC and they said they only did PT and FT, no IC.  Since they bought MDI there is all this talk about them now offering IC.  I am just questioning this because it seems to me they might expect someone who is an IC to actually work PT status, of course with no PTO earned or anything else.  Again, this all just does not make sense to me especially if what a read a few days ago is true and somebody got an email threatening termination unless they made enough to be PT status.  I guess I am just wondering if anybody else has gotten an email stating that they needed to make PT status or might be terminated??
or they are growing. What a terrible blanket statement. This is so confusing now. sm
I hear good things about a company and the exact opposite from someone else. Then stay away from another, and a friend of my gets the position and has been there for 4 years. I missed out by listening to others on that one but listened on others about how good they were and now have had 8 jobs in 3-1/2 years. I AM NOT A JOB-HOBBER. I just want to work and be left alone except to get paid.
Could you be confusing "using the facilities own MTs" with "sending to India" mayhaps?
x
Anyone have any recent info on Sten-Tel out of Massachusetts? Old posts were rather confusing sm
as to whether the company was Indian or not.  There is an ad up on another board for editors.  Are they offshore?  TIA.
I don't know about overseas, but I'd say if they
don't have a separate line for a business then it is probably a tiny company and I wouldn't feel comfortable working with them.   I'd at least get some history from Joanna about how long the company has been around, where they are located, etc.
you must be from overseas.

They get what they pay for when they offshore.  period.

Thanks. Do you know if TT outsources overseas?
nm
How much work is still going overseas. Anyone know.

Where is it going. Not overseas I hope.

Overseas MTs and US companies
I was over joyed this past Friday when I landed an interview with a company in my area that called me out of the blue for an interview.  I do not even remember sending my resume to them, but I must have over a year ago.  Well, I was up for the interview and ready for whatever they wanted me to test on.  I was very anxious to quit the big national I worked for soon.  Well, I pressed my skirt out and as I drove, I a started singing all the way there.  Today was going to be my lucky day.  Well, boy was I wrong.  I met the lady that called me and it went down hill from there.  She told me that they only had 2 US MTs and the other 500 MTs they employed were over in India. UUUUUHHHH.  My heart sank.  She was calling because they needed to immediately set up a new account that was going live in 2 weeks, and they were caught with their pants down. The overseas MTs would not be able to catch on as quickly, so they needed at least to hire 2 more US MTS to get the ball rolling.  I knew right then and there I was the Guinney pig to help set this new account up for the MTs overseas.  My heart sank, and I could not even remember anything else she had said.  She gave me a writtent test and I told her I did not know the terms. I said that because I was trying to get the HELL out of there fast.  She said do not worry.  I want you anyway.  Then she gave me an OP note to transcribe. I sat there for about 2 minutes and told her I was sorry, but I could not get it.  I grabbed my coat and hussled out of there.  As I was leaving an Indian man was walking by, and she said he was the owner.  Is this the way our business is going?  He clearly was the owner and employed all the MTs from overseas.  Can we go over to their country and do the same? I don't think so.  I am sorry for venting, but I was so darned mad.  He learned the business, used the United States, and employed all from his country.  She also said that eventually, all work go over their, but some clients need to see the work first before sending it over there.  Translation, the US MTs do the initial work and it looks good.  Then, when the client thinks everything is good, they ship it over to the overseas MTs.  Did I handle this situation wrong?  I feel like a heel for not giving my best, but that is what I was feeling at the time.
Coding is being sent overseas as well
NM
*overseas help* are not employees....
zzz
It'll NEVER all be sent overseas.

MTSO's are now rushing to jump on the USA bandwagon.  Hospital administrators have had to deal with lawsuits and redundant protection (QA'ing every overseas report), and they want the work back in the US.

Outsourcing overseas has made more work and ultimately cost more than having had on-site MTs.

The work will NEVER be sent, en masse, overseas.

What we're also trying to point out to you is that even without a full-out union organization if, one by one, we begin refusing the 0.057 VR jobs, we an make a difference in numbers.  We're not suggesting ANYONE quit their job, no matter how low the pay rate, but begin emailing/mailing/calling members of congress, senators and service owners, urging return of our precious medical records to the US, and level our pay out to pre-offshore standards.

It is clear by the mistakes edited daily, that VR is not the answer across the board, and may not be for many years.  EMR is not comprehensive for all facility scenarios.  OUR SKILLS ARE STILL NECESSARY AND WE DESERVE A FAIR WAGE, AND THE RESPECT THAT OUR KNOWLEDGE COMMANDS.  I know many people with bachelors' degrees who could not perform our jobs.  We are skilled, dedicated (in most cases), and well worth what little we are seeking.

overseas work
I agree - these companies and hospitals supporting to send work overseas make it sound so wonderful - cheaper rates and fast TAT.   BUT have you ever read some of the work that domestic/US MTs and QAs have to repair?   So the hospital gets a break on the costs from the MT Companies but who has to fix the mess?   I frankly do not want my medical records going off to India to be incorrect when it comes back.   I remember one in particular where the overseas MT put PORN instead of PRN.  How would that patient like to see that in their record?    I hope the new administration imposes fines to heavily that it will stop these companies from supporting overseas companies and give the work back to the US MTs - we need jobs here too and we should be taking care of us first !   Remember those cheap rates - you get what you pay for !  I remember getting a good salary and even Christmas bonuses 10 years ago but those days are LONG gone now.

Merry Christmas to all and let's hope the New Year brings much happiness with jobs and decent wages.
jobs did not go overseas did they?
No union in the U.S. would have let their jobs go overseas. Because we had no unions, our jobs left. As much as I hate to admit it, because we are in a female-dominated field, we did not band together in a union...and our jobs left. The only chance of retrieving them now is because unemployment is going to rise....and we may have a shot of saying the country needs as many jobs as we can muster up....
All I know is that they send work overseas. nm
x
outsource overseas a percentage, which could go up...(nm)

Does anyone know of DocuMed outsources overseas? nm
