heard MXS was good to work for but the ladies there

Posted By: are witches on 2008-03-11

as told to me by a friend that used to work there.

I am no longer at MQ either. I applied at Gulf Coast Transcription, the lady that replied was really nice but I didn't want IC status. You might try them.

Had the same happen here, heard the same thing, good references and good ....sm
job record will get you better $$$ if you are willing to promote yourself, search like crazy, talk to everyone, etc., but I have never been paid a cent more for CMT, what a waste, and all the years I paid my dues to AAMT, what a joke, they did NOTHING to better our field, just took the money for better conventions, as far as I can see.
Ladies, ladies, ladies
Let us skip that tired recruiter accusation you hurl just because we are coming from different directions. If I were a recruiter, I would not be spending my time trying to encourage debate (yes, debate...you got something against debate?) on the pros an cons of this company. I also won't apologize on any level for the points of view I have expressed since they arise from countless hours (spanning three decades) of blood, sweat and tears spent perfecting my craft, staying employed, supporting myself and successfully raising my son as a single parent.

Started transcription in a hospital setting back in the dark ages, long before outsourcing was even possible. We had a bare smidgen of respect then, since on the food chain we were positioned way below MDs, RNs, technicians and administrators and just slightly above nurses' aides and ward clerks. They would not even honor us with the title of secretary. We were clerks I, II, III, IV, etc. We did have good benefits, scheduled raises, but little chance to advance since the skill is so specialized and does not directly generate revenue for them (although there is something to be said for maintaining a healthy legal status and facilitating the flow of insurance revenues). Then came the outsourcing. No, not overseas...just the boot out the hospital door into contract positions for fledgling transcription services...you know, back in the days when there WERE no professionals. Must say, that was a painful period of personal growth, to be sure. I made my decision right then and there that I did not have what it takes to actually run a transcription company. Can't pander enough and no longer stood in awe of MDs and hospital administrators. No people skills for landing contracts, and no desire to take on that kind of stress. Just wanted to be good at what I do and I had all I could say grace over just trying to transcribe. Glad I hung in there. I became a better, stronger and person during that time.

Anyway, benefits and scheduled raises gradually gave way to company profits and the attitude that we were lucky simply to have a job. For almost a decade, they were nowhere to be found. Nature took its course as it always does and they (benefits) began to surface again as a way to attract and keep the best transcriptionists and in in response to the fierce cut-throat competition that was evolving in a proliferating scribe market. Still, can't remember any warm and fuzzy recognition for any of it, other than the pats in the back I gave to myself along the way and the pride I take in my work....not for the sake of the employer or for my fellow transcribers...just for my own sake and out of respect for the journey (often tireless, thankless) that took me from there to here. Had to grow up. Had to stop whining. Had to get real, and take it for what it is and be smart enough to recognize that it would never be what I think it should be. Didn't go down without a fight either but just ended up cutting off my own nose to spite my face and burning a few bridges...not terribly helpful.

For a moment, consider this opposite view. Want support, recognition and appreciation? Who is the one being naive here? Just how much of that do you actually take the time to express to your employer? What do you do to promote the company? Send your bosses, TM of QA Christmas presents do you? Tell them what a fine job they are doing? Do you actually believe that you too do not take advantage of them at least as much as they take advantate of you for as long as they are useful to you and then drop them like a hot potato when they are not? Business is business. It is what it is. I know that I simply don't have time for any of that opining over what it isn't and what it should be and especially the fretting. Too busy typing, raising a family, being a wife, daughter, friend, etc and trying my best to have a life beyond my job. For me, it's just a matter of balance and perspective.

Ditch the pointless accusation (and the sarcasm, which is also just as meaningless) and let us see if we have anything to offer one another in this exchange. Just say what it is you are trying to say. You work for Precyse and you don't have work, is that it? What message lurks behind the recruiter accusation? You trying to enlighten me with regard to Precyse or punish me for holding a diverse viewpoint?
Ladies! sm
We must be having some after the holidays issues around here. I have them in full measure myself, but I wouldn't want to take it out on you all.

Calmly, I will tell you that my resume STATES what specialties I did and for what company. That is a courtesy. I spoke to a recruiter today and I said Basic 4 is perfect for me, but honestly I am a bit lean on cardiology experience and of note, cardio isn't on my resume either. She said, we can route those to others. I suggested that since I have started learning to do cardio and would like to continue to do so, could they allow me to work with QA to grow more accomplished. OH YES.

EVERY hospital I have done to date, every surgical center, all of her different specialties, period, end of the story.

Besides all of this stuff in this industry changes all the time, so has the resume job hunting end of it.
Ladies, ladies!
4 Heaven's sake, retract those darn claws!
Thanks ladies
I appreciate your honesty.

I've got two other companies scratching at my door as well so if Transtech isn't interested, I'm good.

Truth be told I'm aching to get out of this business altogether. Just need to pay the bills until I figure out what I want to be when I grow up.

Thanks again !
sorry about that ladies...
You all probably want to slap me. I do! LOL

Thanks.
Bingo, ladies, I'm right there with you
I've never been a speed demon, but yeah, I remember the thrill of finding stuff. I was the go-to gal in the office years ago because I loved the thrill of the hunt....
ladies at MxSecure

I have dealt with the ladies at MxSecure and they are nicest, most helpful supervisors, recruiters, QA people I have met...

Just remember everyone may have different experiences and nobody should base opinions by a post....

C'Mon ladies, NEED HELP!!1

Would like some information, PLEASE........ How about insurance cost at Axoltl or Transcend or Transtech? Any cheaper???  Oh yes,  we have BC/BS

LADIES - Get a grip!
Why is everyone ripping each other apart as well as the original poster?  No one was **acting like a prima donna.**  She did not state it was a hospital to begin with.  She simply said she did not want to take the schedule.  The same as someone else saying they do not wish to work at night.  Good grief!!  Yes, it is true that many positions being offered require 1 weekend day.  I, myself kept looking until I found a M-F.  To some of us, **raising a bunch of kids** is important.  What gives anyone else the right to knock it?  Some people stiff have a wonderful sense of family being important.  Sad for those who do not.  So you work days, nights, and weekends, good for you.  Please live and let live!!
Never heard anything good about them and I believe
they offshore.
Never heard anything good about OSI, don't know

anything about MDI but they have been mentioned a lot lately so lots in the archives.  KS doesn't pay OT, not legal, but they don't pay.  Company extremely disorganized.  Lots of accounts are C-phone accounts so you need ULD, though they do have some accounts that use foot pedal.  Lots of accounts are Meditech, which is really crappy and hard to make lines.   They start everyone at 8 cpl and say in so many days  you will have a review and may make 0.05 cpl more, but don't hold your breath.  I was told I don't know how many times that I would get an increase, never did.  I hated Webmedx, cried nearly every day I worked there.  They have fixed some of the issues so things are probably better, but there are accounts that frequently run out of work and you may need several accounts to make your lines.  Each account has their own account specifics, which can be  a major PITA if you aren't one of those people who transition back and forth easily.

KS supposedly got new insurance that is more reasonable, I left before that happened so don't know much about it, but it was VERY expensive before.   I think Webmedx has his premiums too, at least if you need coverage for more than yourself.  I don't know about the other 2 companies.

Sorry I didn't rate, but not something you can really do unless you have worked for all 4.

I heard they were good

I have 2 friends who work at TNI.  They have been there a long time and are happy.

I think it depends on who your supervisor is.

Never heard - and that's GOOD :-)
Most of the time it is NOT good to find your name in the archives on this board. It is the bad ones who get discussed over and over. You must be doing a good job :-) Your people seem content.
Yep, I heard they had a good...
reputation in the past, so thanks for updating :-).
The best co. ever! Good work, good people, good pay, good bennies.

Ladies we rule the MT world!!! nm

So? BOS is just book by ladies with too much free
x
Bunch of whining ladies
Andrea Renner does not care about postings here, she thinks the moderator will remove it! Seems she considers hard working participants here as bunch of whining ladies!
Ladies...I think we may be making some headway...
I was being recruited recently and when I asked the line rate for weekend IC work, she said 8 cpl. I was like...oh man, that's too low. Let me tell you, she was flabbergasted, speechless!!! and started explaining that the MTSO had to make THEIR money, and the companies will only pay so much...blah blah blah.

I have continued to do this with other companies I speak to, and they are also shocked I'd dare ask a higher rate. Well get used to it Fatcats...we're fed up working for 80's wages in a Recession economy, and we expect to get paid for our expertise. If you want the best, you'll have to pay for it. Period.

I think this is why we see so many job listings recently, those of us who have worked long and hard at this profession are standing up for what we believe is right. Way to go, Women (and men)!
Has anyone heard of LTS, Inc. - good, bad, ugly?
Has anyone heard or worked for LTS, Inc. - good, bad, ugly?
I heard pay is good, but you have to pay for long

I have heard good things - sm
I even spoke to the owner on the phone - SUPER nice.  I couldn't take the position right now due to personal reasons but would definitely go with them in the future if need be.  A current employee likes it there that I spoke to.
wow, from a company I heard a lot of good from..sm
that's pretty junk. Sorry to hear that.
I heard same, which is shame, since they have some good
nm
Never heard anything good about Focus
here and I am sure if there was anything good about it we would have heard someone say so here before now. The best thing any of us can do is take the negatives to heart and steer clear of them.
I heard good things about them, but I have to
I really do not like that Oak site, I have tested through that before and lots of hoops to jump through... I don't know if I have the time to take it, the company would have to be really really worth it for me to take the time to test with that software. Just my 2c.
twisting the knob..BRAVE ladies!

How totally refreshing to read a post, then the replies and an honest informative debate about a subject and not one name called, no one slamming someone for their opinion and a truly interesting read.

This is so refreshing for a change and should happen much more often.  I commend you all for your educated and well spoken opinions

i've heard nothing good about transolutions
x
I have heard only good things about MDI-FL and have talked to the sm
owners myself. They seem to be very nice people who care about their transcriptionists. They are MTs themselves, something that helps in this business.

I know they have grown this past year. They probably found the two or three MTs that move from company to company, always finding fault and always bashing the one they quit or were terminated from. It is just MDI-FL's turn to be bashed. I am sure that most people reading this board take it all with a grain of salt.

If you love the company you work for - stay with them. Obviously you found a great fit. I am fortunate enough to have MTs like love working for us (not saying who I am as I promised my staff I would stay away from here) and fortunate enough to have applicants that don't take the bashing on these boards as gospel.
I've heard good things about both...sm
but which one pays better?  I'm curious to know too as I thought about applying for eMTS.  Let us know.  TIA
Pretty good from what I've heard...
A friend of mine works for them. Said they are strict on accuracy and line counts but are also somewhat flexible in schedule.
So good to know! I took the test but have not heard back

I don't think I will take the job, but do you know if they even hire ICs?  Just so I know!  TXs

I've heard good things about MDI.
Sorry, I'm not part time so that's all I can offer. Felt I should write something as poster below didn't seem to realize this company board is for asking and discussing companies.
Heard good things about Landmark, so went sm
to their website. It states you must work both Saturday and Sunday. I might have read it wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what it said.

I would love a M-F job and wouldn't mind working one weekend day, but not both.

WAY! The closest I have come is 2700 but I do know a couple of ladies that have hit 3000. nm

Thanks for the memories ladies. Now I remember why I loved this business.
Long gone are those happy times.
What kind of changes? I am looking to apply there and have heard good things. I don't want
to go in blind, but all the postings are so vague. Can you give me an example so I can decide for myself?
I've always heard if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. n/m
x
Do you mean Axolotl? If so, I've heard many good things about them. nm
nm
I have heard good things about New England in the past
don't know if that has changed. I would also throw in a vote for TransTech. After cycling through several other companies, I have finally found a home with Transtech and I am very happy there.
What a shame, I had always heard good things about QT Medical. (sm)
I hope they had been kind enough to forewarn their employees or at least provide severance pay. Good luck to all their people. Many people hiring hope you all find a good home quickly.
Anyone heard of the transcription company Medwest? Good or bad?
Any input would be appreciated.
ImedX. Any current information? Most of what I have heard is not good
but I would appreciate some more input.
I have heard really bad things from QA about our overflow that goes to Amherst. Not good quality and
clients complaining because the MTs that are getting the work are making mistakes and not reading the client profile. Good way to lose accounts.
I've heard good and bad, just want facts from the horses mouth.

I have also heard great things about this company, only recently have I heard bad things.  If they post on this message board they supposedly do not offshore work. The moderator would definitely have something to say about that, don't you think?

Does that make sense to you?

I have heard nothing but good things about Webmedx, but no personal experience NM
x
webmedix- I have 25 years exp., was offered low rate of pay. Heard it is a good company. nm
nm
I'm with them. Good work environment, easy accounts and I'm making really good money. nm

Does anyone recommend a pretty good company that is good to work for, pay always on time and plenty
of work.  I know that is asking a lot, but just curious?
