Prior info said they take $300 out of your pay $50 at a time for something, rent or deposit. nm

You can rent a C-phone from them. sm
I'm not sure about a computer rental. If your account is not on wav files, you'll have to pay long distance. There are a lot of flat rate plans through many companies.

You can't access the patient's old files through Bayscribe.

Pay is anywhere from 9 to 11 cpl.

Great place to work!
Not sure what's so low rent about being a hair
Meow.
I would bet the rent MDI will not offshore
They have waaaay too much integrity.
cynical, I would bet the rent
it gets cut effective 1 January 2010.
Maybe you could rent out a room or two instead of working
3 full time jobs leaves no time for sleep! If I were in that position, I'd look into renting out a bedroom. In an urban setting, you could always store your car and rent out the garage (if you have one).
You can rent the Lanier very cheaply
from MDI. (And you deduct this rental cost from your taxes as a business expense.)
In actuality, you ARE "betting the rent".
.
Dependign where you are in the US, rent can be $1000 for a 2-bedroom apt or even a
more than that. The one thing that has always sort of amazed me is that because we work at home our salaries do not always equal our locations. For example, it is far easier to make a living at 9 cpl with an average of 1200 lines per day if you live in the country (as I do) rather than if I lived in a city. I do not own my home at present and pay $750 per month for a nice-sized 3 bedroom home, but my best friend lives out near a larger city and pays $1600 month for a house that is almost the same as mine. In the he real world, salaries are adjusted by locality, but because we work from home that little factor seems to have been eliminated. I know that I would never be able to survive on my pay if I lived in the northeastern part of the US.
Do you still have to rent their equipment from them or do they load program on
s
Rent where I live is apx. $1200-1250/mo, 1-bdrm. (sm)
Where I live the average is about $1200/mo. for a 1-bedroom apt.

If I could get the lines/day, I'd be doing better. But I frequently get up in the morning, sit down to work, and there is nothing 'til maybe noon. Other days, there's plenty.

We're paid by the keystroke, so it's something like 1/10th of a cent, or something like that. Comes out to something like $6.50/hour if you're spending much time researching drugs, terms, etc. (Difficult but interesting and challenging accounts.) There are incentives, bennies, etc., but it's hard to even meet the minimum if the work ain't there when you need it.

In all other respects, this is a great company, and I'd hate to leave 'cuz I just started this summer. And they actually offer more than many others do. It's just that OVERALL, the MT field is not only not keeping up with the cost-of-living, it's declining. And everything else has gone up. A box of cereal is close to $5. Gas is $3.65/gal. Thank goodness I live in CA where I can get by without heating my home. (Also expensive). Oh well. I guess I should've stayed in college longer than just 2 years........
They hire FT only. Need a second phone line. Might have to rent/lease equip. from them. nm

Plus my company is out work and I haven't made my rent yet, so am grouchy!

NM
I wanted to use my own computer and get rid of the RENT on TT computer, but Vista is not compatible.
Good way to make them money.  Not have to upgrade software so that Vista is compatible with Vista.  Huh?
How much is deposit?TIA NM

$300 deposit is exactly
the reason I didn't accept their offer. Signing an agreement is sufficient IMO

Now there is a $300 deposit. nm

Deposit
Still with Webmedx but took forever when I left Spheris! It did come, though - guess it had to go through the channels.
Regarding Deposit

There are no rental fees, only a deposit.  This deposit is returned upon receipt of a working computer.

Deposit
I am not sure how long it will take, as the computers are normally shipped ground and may have been delayed because of the holidays.  Contact the office and verify they have received the computer.  At that time, they can also give you a status on the deposit.
deposit
It took longer for mine because I had moved and the address was not updated. But, from what the paperwork said, the check was sent within a week of receiving it. It took me 8 weeks to get it because of the wrong address. Hope this helps! :)

No there's no deposit. nm
nm
It's a DEPOSIT
It is refundable when/if you leave the company.  It is for the whole computer to include the tower, monitor, keyboard, mouse, software and footpedal.
Yes they do, for a deposit fee. NM
xx
How much was the deposit?
all about the deposit, and 9 months later I still don't have it back!  I'll be calling them first thing in the morning.
$300 deposit and $50 per pay?
Who pays to work for a company? That's ridiculous. There are plenty of companies out there that don't make you rent their equipment. They probably own that equipment and software free and clear. Think about how much money they are making off each Transcriptionist just for using their equipment.

Sorry to vent but this is one of my pet peeves. Without transcriptionists, they wouldn't be making any money at all. Greedy, greedy, greedy.
Regard deposit
The deposit for the equipment is $250, but like stated before payments are in installments. $25 to $35 per pay period. You should try them. They are a good company to work for. No underlying discrepancies occur there.
I have direct deposit.
I love the platform. It is proprietary software but very VERY user friendly. The staff is great and I really do enjoy it here. And I am serious -- make your own opinion. One or 2 bad apples don't outweigh a couple of hundred happy campers. Our insurance is great -- there is sick leave, holiday, PTO .. it's pretty dang good.
Direct deposit. SM
I just filled out a form for my bank on Monday to have another type of payment set up for direct deposit. So, there's obviously something very, very wrong here.

Good luck.
They pay be direct deposit
Good luck with getting the phone answered.  Does their manager not have a number to call?
Yes, they do have direct deposit. nm

Direct deposit
She has direct deposit now. I even got paid a few days early last week.
No direct deposit
Today is payday and direct deposit not there, still waiting for reason. Apparently ADP problem, not TTS, but still!
DIRECT DEPOSIT`

I DID sign up for direct deposit.  However, they lost all of my paperwork and paid me as a vendor!!  NOT good!!!

Direct deposit

I live 20 miles from them, and it took 4 to 5 days to get my check.  The postmark was a timely manner.  A lot just depends on the volume of mail going from whereever they mail the checks from.

They just did start direct deposit for IC's about a month or 2 ago.  I LOVE IT!!!!

I have direct deposit
My pay is in my account every other Saturday bright and early. They have never been late and never messed up my pay. I think if you don't have DD it arrives the middle of the week.
Correct. It is a deposit. -- nm
nm
I had to pay $300 deposit, they take $50 out of each paycheck, sm
it is supposed to be refundable
The deposit is in $50 increments, too. sm

After seeing some of the posts today on the board, I just don't understand some MTs.  They come on here complaining about their company for various reasons.  Then, when they are told about actual GREAT companies, they seem to whine about a deposit or state things that are totally not true about a company they know nothing about.

I have been with Axolotl for 2 years.  During this time frame, I can never complain about being without compensation or really lack of work.  They pay great, their benefits are great, the platform is great and management is great.

So, if any MTs are looking for that kind of company, then you should look at Axolotl or you can just be content with your situation and not complain about it.

Direct Deposit?
Can you get your money direct deposited? That's what I do, works great.
You will be charged more than your deposit
The software on a computer is more than the deposit itself.
Computer deposit
This is not a deposit, it is an ongoing monthly charge to use their equipment.
Do they do direct deposit? nm
nm
Direct Deposit
I don't know what's going on either. Mine is ALWAYS in the bank on Friday morning, however, when I banked at another bank before this one it was always in there on Saturday morning. This has got me confused. Seems like they would at least have let us know. Hope I don't have some stuff bouncing. I live from payday to payday with as many kids as I have.
I got my direct deposit sm
It was there when I just checked it this morning. Just thought I would give you guys the heads up.
DD's usually go in after 7 a.m. on the day of deposit; please check again.
nm
JLG Direct Deposit
Has anyone gotten a straight answer about direct deposit, if/when it will be started again?
Don't they have direct deposit?
.
direct deposit
Like someone stated, it does take a cycle or two for the DD to happen. You probably will get a paper check in the mail. With any job that I have had, it takes 2 weeks or more to get the first check. Sometimes the company will hold the first pay check and then you will get paid during the next pay cycle for the first 2 weeks that you worked. Just call before making any hasty judgments. Put on the board the company name and ask other MTs, that work at the same company, if they have had problems with getting paid. You are not putting your name on the board, just asking a general question-- this way, you can see if the company has problems with paying on time. Many MTs put info like this on this board and it is very helpful in determining what is a good company to work for.
My deposit was in this morning
When did you send your line count to invoices?

I'm not a cheerleader, I just think the good things should be mentioned as well as the bad.
