Birkenstocks!... sm

I've had plantar fasciotomies on both feet, which of course helped.  Had the cortisone shots as well prior to surgery... sometimes they helped temporarily and sometimes didn't help at all.  Podiatrist used to do the Lawson strapping/taping, which helped but was of course temporary.  Also was in a walking cast for 6 weeks, which didn't really help.  Sometimes rolling a frozen can of OJ under my foot would help.  Also helped to stand on tiptoes on edge of stairs and stretch feet that way.

Then I discovered Birkenstock clogs/sandals.  I've always said I probably wouldn't have required the surgery had I discovered the clogs/sandals first!  Sometimes can be found much cheaper at Sam's Club.  Also, my podiatrist always recommended a very good sneaker -- namely New Balance.

Good luck!
