My son had a friend over this last Thursday night for a sleepover. My son, husband, and I went to pick the little boy up. Well they play wonderfully together, and the child is no problem. My son is 11. The other little boy is 8. Friday, after not hearing from the parents, my husband said well we can either bring you home or you can stay another night. It is 8:00 at night. So the little boy says well I will stay another night. So my husband calls the little boy's dad, who he is friends with, and asks. He says that is fine. Well Saturday evening we haven't heard from the parents at all so we tell him well we are going to take you home. We called the parents home phone and cell phones and no answer. I said well they surely are home. He has been gone 2 nights. They wouldn't just not be home this evening and not call about getting their child. Well finally the mom calls us back on the cell and says we aren't home. We are almost at his house by that time, and they live 30 minutes away. So we say ok and turn around. She says we will come get him later tonight or in the morning. I am like Okay. This is kind of rude. He has been over 2 nights now. I didn't say that of course. So the next day it rolls around to 2 pm and no word from the parents. So I am starting to get ticked. These parents act like they don't care about getting their child back. He has been here 3 nights by this time. So I tell them load up we are taking Mark home. His parents are there. I saw his dad in the yard working on his boat. I dropped him off w/out speaking as I was a little fustrated. Who leaves their child for 2 nights at a friend's house and then when the friend's parents has to bring them home tell them you aren't home, you will get him later. Then the next day make no effort to get your child? What the he!!? I was fustrated as well as felt sorry for the child. I would hate to know my parents didn't care if I came home or not. Is it just me or is this kind of strange?
