Did you know what the responsibilities were (sm)

before saying yes?  That is a full time job in itself.  I did it and actually had to chuckle a bit reading your post - typical PTO and their "induction" tactics.  Unless you have a strong board you're in for a ride.  Oh, and then politics and it's only summer still.  Wait till the real school year gets going.  I assume you'll have the fundraisers to make sure you have committees for, committee for this, for that.  Everyone says they'll help but then you're left holding the bag and since your the pres, you're expected to get it done.  Is it a 1 or 2 year appointment?  You might want to verify that.  You can do it, but don't expect much sleep or personal time for the next ? years until your term is up.  Also, you can count on making enemies - it just comes with the territory.
