In Reply to: Nursing program - thinking of going back to school

I am 45 years old and just started the nursing program.  Although there was a waiting period I used that time to take all the non-nursing classes.  Believe me, the nursing classes will be more than enough to keep you busy full time.  I cannot imagine doing all of them at the same time.  Plus, by getting the prerequisites out of the way you will be able to see if you really do want to be in school.  It is a commitment, espeically when you have children to take care of.

I also would not let your age discourage.  There are many older students in the nursing programs.  Not only that, but whether you go to school or not, you are still going to age.  I have seen many changes over the past 10 years in transcripion, and I think many more are coming.  Although nursing is a dynamic field, you can bet they will not be able to offshore it!
