Fred
Unfortunately, the mass is at the base of his tail about 1 inch from his body. Therefore, he would need a radical tailectomy! Several people are trying to convince me to put him down, but after 20 years of love and devotion, I think he deserves more than that!

I guess we will just have to change his name from Fred to Stubby!

Thank you all for your caring suggestions and kind thoughts! It really means a lot to me!
Fred
Fred's gonna be just fine.....keep your chin up kiddo!  Mine was calle Kitty Sticktail for the same reason.
Fred Flintstone....nm

Here's Fred soon to be Stubby!

Fred soon to be Stubby!
First picture upload didn't work...Hope this one does!
Don't mention it hon - Hope Fred comes thru 100%

I had a feeling you were going to tell me high up on the tail, close to the body.

Don't thank me - I so know what you're going through, my cat of 12 years died in 2004 and I have never gotten over him (he was just a sickly cat, whose life I extended, per the vet, with love and caring) and have since gotten another cat (it was 1 y/o when I got her) but it's just not the same.......tho I do love her now...took me 3 years though *laughs*.....the other one I had since kittendom.....

Still, keep us posted  and will pray Fred does real well....

Hugs & Kisses From Fred
Hugs and Kisses to all of Fred's new friends and well wishers. You have made both of us feel so much better about the predicament we are in. We thank you for your prayers and thoughtfulness, and we will let you know as soon as the deed has been done. Fred didn't seem to mind when my hair turned gray and my skin started to wrinkle, and I will love Fred unconditionally, tail or no tail!

Rest in peace, Fred!
We just put our 22-year-old cat, Fred, to sleep this evening. He had wasted away from 17 pounds to 5 pounds and was too weak to stand or eat. He was a loving companion for the past 22 years and will be missed dearly.

Rest in peace, Fred. Benny, Gus, and Lily will be waiting in heaven to greet you with open arms!
My furkids wish Fred well and I wish your family well. So sorry...nm

Hes gorgeous!!!!
and it looks like he feels really at home in his new home.

On another note, watched a bit of the "animal talent show" on Animal Planet earlier today (caught the tail end of it -- no pun intended), but they had a dog on there who would literally hop on the door of a running dryer and retrieve tennis balls -- blew my mind!!!
WOW!!! That is gorgeous. nm
nm
Up. Fake but gorgeous! lol (we think so at least!)
nm
My Stars! He is GORGEOUS! sm
wow! I would snap him up in a minute! I cannot imagine anyone putting that beautiful dog up for adoption, but you are so lucky! If your DH is not into showing, perhaps putting out for stud? there is money in that too, and he would make some beautiful puppies!!! I cannot imagine your other dog rejecting him, but maybe more than one visit would be a good idea. Good luck to you! ks
He's *gorgeous* with a pedigree to die for. sm

I'm jealous!  ;o)  BTW, the win he had under judge Kathleen Kanzler (Innisfree Siberians) is very impressive.   She and her daughters are very well known and respected in Siberians.  It was her dog that won Best of Show at Westminster (in 1984, I think it was).  Try not to get bitten by the show bug.    It's a whole other world.

I hope Sasha likes him so he can live with you!

She is just gorgeous. You can see the gentleness in her!!! NM

As I said - they are gorgeous creatures
I watched one eat a mourning dove but usually try not to watch.  They pluck and leave a great pile of feathers.  Great Horned Owls can get cats - in case you have one - but their favorite food is skunks - a bird of prey expert told me that the white stripe makes a good landing strip at night!!  I too keep the camera close by, got a couple, but usually by the time I get focused he has moved on.
What a gorgeous horse!! sm
I am sure he is just as happy where he is now as he was with you! You saved his life once and he won't forget that! Bless you both!
your baby is gorgeous!!!! sm

I have three bassets, 12, 11 and 8 years old.  I love my dogs!  I'm a huge animal lover, they are like my kids.  Bassets are very stubborn.  It took a while to train our first basset.  Our second basset (Lucy) we got when Flash was 1 year old.  Lucy wasn't as hard to train as Flash was.  Our third basset I got when he was about 5 years old.  He was used to being outside, and he wasn't hard to train either.  I'd giver her some time.  They are such loyal dogs!!!  Great with kids too.

I think she is gorgeous...congratulations!
:)
Weather was just too gorgeous today.
I went outside in a sleeveless shirt to decide how to dress to walk the dogs, and ended up tidying up the yard instead! Won't my neighbors be relieved, LOL.

Yes, the dogs eventually got their walk, but first I fed them. Sasha decided not to eat tonight ... until I explained that we'd go for a walk only after she ate. She ate it right up and then did her time-for-my-walk dance!

Hope this weather makes it up north soon.
Gorgeous kitty! Will pray it all goes well! :) nm

GORGEOUS pet-collars! Check this out.... -sm

To all of you pet-lovers out there:

I've seen lots of websites offering fancy dog and cat collars, but nothing like this one!  There are pages and pages of lovely sparkly rhinestone collars.... it took me forever to finally choose one for my new little princess-kitty!

If your pampered pet could use a little "bling", you'll love this site!

They are gorgeous, and he is just too adorable for words!!! NM

What a gorgeous colt! From your description - sm
of his temperament, and liking to do 'interesting' things, I'll bet he'd made a great police horse, or be fantastic in trail-horse competition at shows! (Not to mention excellent for actual trail-riding!) What a cutie!

I've had horses in the past; my last one, a dark brown thoroughbred, was a Hunter/Jumper. I got him when he was just 3 years old & unbroke, and he finally died at age 25. Can't afford them anymore (live in an apt., so have to board...) but I do miss it!
yeah but...Mexico is gorgeous. Hey, I went to Cancun. I look at sm
it this way: If more of us were to vacation and spend our money there enjoying their gorgeous wild life and pretty beaches, that would give them plenty of tourist money and they wouldn't have to leave their country! I respect those hard-working Mexicans who stay in Mexico (like the ones who courted us at the resort), and I support the likes of them. They work hard, stay in their country, and I will give them good tips and help them to help their families as I enjoy snorkeling, deep sea fishing, and great food.

I wouldn't put all Mexicans into a box and say that you wouldn't give them a dime. Yes, there are illegals here who have no morals and I certainly don't support them! But, like I said, I do support those hard-working ones who are staying in their own country. I don't see a problem in that.
These are gorgeous! Now what to pick for my chipmunk-chasing

Gorgeous night walk in the snow.....
Walked the dog last night around 8 pm. There are about 12" of snow on the ground, covering the pines, the roof tops, and blanketing the side street where I live. It was breath-taking, which might have been due to it being 23 degrees, but more so because the sky was inky black with a few clouds here and there, and the stars were so bright. The tress without their leaves were silver, contrasting against the black sky, stars twinkling through their branches. The pines were still bent with the weight of snow and snow-covered Christmas lights on the trees glowed dimly. My footsteps crunching on the packed snow was the only sound heard, with the occasional snorting pig imitation my moronic dog does when snow gets up her nose from sniffing too strongly.

I hate having to dress like Nanook of the North and looking like the Michelin Tire Man, but walks in the night like that make me forget about the insanity I endure M-F, at least for a little while.

Technically it is still fall, this is Maine, so I might have a different take on the snow come March.

Lucky, you! I am sorry I got the spelling of this gorgeous breed SM

wrong. I study dog breeds, know every one in the dog shows, etc. and then made that fo-pa.  Not intentional, I assure you.  They had the Pembroke and Cardigan. You would have loved it.

Yes. You must make a point to see this next year. It is so adorable and a change of pace for those of us who don't watch the football game. They have them on what looks like a football field with lots of toys and they are all running around, and they play a sound track in the bakground that sounds like fans cherring in the crowd!

She is gorgeous, and a twin to my niece's beautiful cat, Nina! NM

My wife doesn't let me hang out on a forum dripping with all you gorgeous chicks unattended....sm
And every now and then I catch her eyeing me in a speculative sort of way out of the corner of her eye while idly twirling the little Beretta that I was foolish enough to teach her how to shoot.

Now, I don't say she's actually made any verbal threats. No, no - nothing like that. But it's not too hard to interpret the occasional warning shot that whistles past my head.
Yes, God bless Fred, and God Bless you in your kindness and love...sm
We had to put two of our pets, to gorgeous cats that had been our babies for 16+ years, in much the same story, they had gotten to the point where they were suffering and would suffer more.  Horrible, heartbreaking decision, hurts like heck, but I do believe there have to be darling pets in Heaven, I cannot imagine how it would be heaven without them, they are so precious and give us so much love and happiness!  So sorry for your loss!
Thanks for sharing!

It is always nice to hear stories like this especially when it has to do giving our military folks a reason to smile!!

ditto...support them 200%...disappointed in the administration but always hoping for a better day..

Thank you so much for sharing this
It officially brought chills to me.  It is amazing how his voice had not been discovered before this.  I love love love the reaction from the two "mean" judges.  Wow.
LOL, thank you for sharing that :)
I just checked out my area and so far we've got worught iron chairs, a bed from Hoffen Koos and a lot of matresses.

I'm still laughing about Hoffen Koos.

How precious!  I LOVE orange kitties.  Enjoy!

Just sharing sm
My sis was 59, had tried to quit several times, but every time something stressful happened, she would smoke again. I can't give you specifics because she didn't want to hear my sermons, but Stage IV with no symptoms whatsoever except a lump in her neck. I wished she would have listened to me. I was putting my tree up today and cry every Christmas. Please don't let this happen to you. The doc said, "You have Stage IV so keep smoking, what's the difference?" I care about you. Please stop! There are no excuses. My sister would not accept my tough love, I hope you do. I don't have any idea who you are but I will beg you to stop. No excuses.Use lollipops, cinnamon sticks, ice cubes, Nicorette, something to keep your mouth busy but smoking. You'll feel better, smell better, look better. Treat yourself to a manicure or something each week you make it.
Thank you so much for sharing! sm

Thanks for sharing this recipe
I'm going to visit my daughter at college soon so I plan on bringing a bunch of "supplies".  She lives in a house with about 6 other girls this semester.  I'm going to bake a bunch of these to bring also !
Great tip, thanks for sharing!
My hands often get cold too this time of year.  I buy the little stretchy $1 gloves, cut off the fingertips and that helps as well. Happy Friday!
That is so sweet. Thanks for sharing!

My teenage son did something like that, only it was a song that his favorite band (Good Charlotte if anyone is familiar with them) sang and I think it was called Thank You Mom.  He sent it in an e-mail thanking me for all I had done for him while he was little and since he has gone off to college.  I cried like a baby when I heard it.  He also has a My Space page that we can access and under one section, it asks for his hero.  He said something to the effect that now that he is out in the "real world" his hero is his dad.  They used to fight like cats and dogs, so that was nice to see.

So, they do see what is going on, even if you don't think they do, and they do GET IT eventually.

Didn't know this either-thanks for sharing! nm
