I'm glad there are people to defend us (sm)
and, I am somewhat ashamed to admit it, but if it was my child I would not want them to be in the military right now.
Glad you work at home and not subjecting people to have to pretend they like working with you.
.
I am glad I am good at something
I may not be an experienced MT - but I am so glad I can help someone do something.

The skin is loose on a turkey. So, just lift the skin up (do not worry about the back, drumsticks, or wings) and stick that butter mixture in there. It will look lumpy but it will melt down. BTW, if you want, you can place the turkey on potato halves. This will ensure that the turkey does not get soggy on the bottom. After cooking, make sure you let it rest for about 20 minutes before slicing.
Good for you, I am glad you have taken - sm
some action. I know it is no picnic for you but it really is the only way to get through to him probably. This way the police friend will also start to see how nuts he is.
Good news! Glad all went well.

Glad you got some good news to
make you feel a little better.

Pleaes do post updates as you can. Hope the radiation isn't too rough.
Now I see - glad you had good luck with it all then. nm

I'm glad they have a good relationship, too, but it's NOT
superficial to know your spouse's past history including his education.  Why be so secretive about something so mundane?  Is she going to love him any less (or more) whether he did or didn't finish high school - probably not.  Is it going to change how he treats her now if she knows - probably not.  Even if it changed everything about their relationship, she's still his wife, and to not know his education level after 30+ years of knowing each other is just a wee bit strange to me.  Once again, in my opinion, he's supposed to be her best friend, her confidante, the one person in the world she can trust anything to.  Why the evasiveness?  JMO

Glad to hear the good news -sm
Thanks for the update. That is good news! You have eased my mind about having it done, and I hope to do it real real soon. I know I've put it off long enough. Your messages have been so encouraging and much appreciated. I'll keep watching in case you post any more good news. ;-)
Am glad someone is good with around the house projects
I can, hmmmm, transcribe? After that, pretty much downhill but I am really spoiled by him and only wish I had just a 4th of his talents. We are some lucky women!
Glad you guys had a good time

My boys are probably too young to have been at a Crowes performance anyway, but I did think about how cool they would have been at school the next day.  Goin' in all groggy-eyed and wearing their "tour shirts" that he was insisting on, which was the other reason we didn't go . . . LOL!!!

Maybe in a few years

Glad to hear the good news! Now.......

Glad to hear your tests turned out good..
I wonder if some people are more susceptible to cysts than others? Have you had anymore cysts?

I have one on my head (hidden under hair), a lipoma on my forearm (need to get it x-rayed though as it has been driving me crazy lately) and an ovarian cyst (My GYN left it in place just in case it was helping the pregnancy). I found out about the ovarian cyst when I was pregnant for my twins. They were actually triplets at first (with one growing in the tube) so at 6 weeks, we had to have surgery. I was heartbroken to lose a baby but feel so blessed and lucky that the other 2 made it and have done well since. They are now 2 strong, active little boys and were 1 day from being full-term :)
Sounds good to me. Glad girls are involved in video

Appreciated ESL, but
when outsourced from the hospital I might have thrown him into a fit thinking I was stalker or something. This physician always wished you a happy whatever, say Merry Christmas, Happy MLK Day, Happy Thanksgiving and have a wonderful weekend. He was the only physician who did this and I thought I would contact him as I left to say who much I appreciated it as i am sure some of my coworkers did. He seemed caught off guard and I hope he did not think I was, like I said, a stalker or something. He sorta stuttered but hope he took it like I meant it.
appreciated.

What a good person you are and I'm glad Bones found you. He will be a great pet for somebody afte

Bread help appreciated sm
The bread came out just "okay" with King Arthur Flour, it was a great experience though and I can't wait to get to the market to get the actual "bread flour;" hopefully will be within a few days. We have a Christmas Tree Shop in the next town and will try to get there to get the flour cheaper. We are also close to (excuse this) Wal-Mart. The aroma alone was great and I was amazed at how it kneaded itself, etc., as this is the part I was dreading when making bread. The Oster does it all for $59 with a $10 coupon good next week at Kohl's. I can't say it was that good this a.m., I did cut a thin slice and toasted it. Our Golden Retriever was salivating but we're watching his diet. I will be looking for bargains and enjoying having the aroma in the house. We have cold winters in NE so the smell of bread and crock pot meal or mac and cheese is a good thing! I feel like Martha! (I could pack on the pounds with this.) The crust was crunchy and the inside well cooked. I may try pizza dough in it one night as well. I could become addicted to this experimenting with bread over $4 to $7 a loaf around here. Thanks for the input.
Thank you all for your kind replies. it is truly appreciated. sm
i am trying so hard to be strong and i have already seen such an improvement in my children and their behaviors. it had gotten so bad that my 14yo says mom choose him or me cuz i am moving out if he doesn't. that is just so sad cuz he is their father you know. it is like one poster said, i guess i am in mourning and never thought of it that way. it is just too hard for me to comprehend why someone would have that lifestyle before their children and the man i fell in love with is gone. i just keep thinking why couldn't he change, why couldn't he be the man i fell in love with and the family man i desire, etc. i am taking it one day at a time and will get through this eventually. my household is so much better now and i am doing this for my kids so they don't turn out like me. trying to change my life drastically is the hardest part of the unknown that i have been used to for so long and i really am no less lonely than i was i guess as someone said. he tried to love on me before when he was here, but i had so much hate build up for him, that i would always push him away and not want it. so i guess i am not as lonely, LOL. again, thank you all for your kind and encouraging words. i will remember them.
My townhouse appreciated by $40,000 in 12 years.
But that was not expected when we bought it.

Hair length and age input appreciated sm
I am what one would would call "retirement age" and a grandmother. I have always had very nice hair and keep it neat and clean. I still have most of my light brown color and highlight slightly every 3-4 mos. I use hot rollers or a roller set if I am going out or if I feel I need it. My stylist and most people tell me I have very beautiful hair. I let it grow to about the length of Meredith Viera's on the "Today" Show but I get remarks from a few neighborhood "cats,", i.e., "At your age, perhaps you should cut your hair." My husband loves my hair and hates when I cut more than an inch off and yet I feel sloppy and as though I am trying to look "younger than my stated age." My husband thinks the few women who say this to me are jealous and I am kind of on the fence as I feel perhaps I'm kidding myself. Anyone else have hair almost chin length in their older years? Don't be mean - it's just a little "girl talk" here, Sometimes it helps to talk it over with the girls. Just keeping the conversation light for a change and trying to grow old gracefully without disappointing my husband. I have had worse decisions to make in my life! Much worse!
Orgone Parasite Zapper, opinons/info appreciated

A friend asked me if I knew anything about this.  I did a quick search on it, and it appears to be akin to taking herbs, etc.  I'm a bit suspicious of it, but wanted to see what y'all have to say.

Thanks!

people mimic good taste, but
I would have been really hacked off about that. I do not like my MIL at all! I would have blamed it on her haha. Ill share one of my many many horrible MIL stories....

When my daughter was little, it took forever for her to get hair. She had said over and over how I needed to get it trimmed. I told her we will but we make a deal out of their first haircuts, and we would do it. We lived 5 hours away. Anyway, my husband and I left our kids with her for the weekend, and when I came back, she had trimmed her hair. I was furious... of course my husband didnt notice and couldnt figure out why my face was 6 shades of red. He asked her about it, and she said "she is my granddaughter."

I have plenty more to share, but I have a job and kids to feed lol....
I have trouble seeing age in other people...which is good, until I see a photograph. sm
I still perceive most of my friends from high school looking like they did then when I see them now in person. When I look at a current photo of them, I often think "wow, he looks older!" Even people whom I've known ONLY as adults look younger in person than in photos, even if its a nice photo (not just the unflattering ones). I guess movement has a lot to do with it, whereas a photo captures the wrinkles and keeps them locked in, LOL.
that stands as good reasoning, huh? "because of other people, that's why
good grief
That was a very good post. I wish more people shared your opinion-

gossip and start vicious rumors! At this point, who cares! The woman is deceased and her poor daughter has to face a lifetime of continuing vicious gossips and rumors. Gossip mongers need to find something better to do!!!
Good grief, lost of people get married and don't have children nm

you can give the people the facts, but the decision making process should be left to the people

This is what our country is founded on FREEDOM OF CHOICE!   I'm laughing already; you are just as mortal as the rest of us, and don' even attempt to that you've never done anything in your lifetime that was unsafe or unhealthy. NOT gonna buy it.

it is wonderful to see how many people have such strong opinions about people in debt.

I thought that the purpose of this board was to be able to post without being judged unfairly or have somebody tell you how wonderful their personal life is, and therefore you are causing their life to be less wonderful with your irresponsibility. Well, the saying "walk a mile in my shoes" is a good one in this case.  Since you have no personal information about the person you are lambasting because they are looking for information on their debt, you can feel superior.  Had you had personal information about them, you might act in a more human manner. Consider fighting cancer for 4 years, working and being debilitated while you do, suffering the effects of chemo, going into debt to maintain your home for your children and looking for a way out of debt SHOULD YOU EVEN LIVE THROUGH THIS!!  Thank you for the kind comments.  To the judgmental people I say please take a step back before you judge.  You do not know who you are talking to and if you knew the personal information maybe your comments would be kinder.

I get frustrated by the double standard they use when judging people. They let certain people go sa
What do you think about the voting process?
People who go around calling other people "low class"
have their own issues in life. Ignore them. Nothing like a misplaced superiority complex to make a person feel good about themselves. Like they've never done anything gauche or made a faux pas. It must be nice for them to be so perfect and live in a glass house.

For that matter, you probably saved your piggy's life by popping that mondo zit! It could have gotten infected or something.... (yes, I have a zit popping fixation myself, but you were really descriptive on that pig zit. gag LOL)

Man, you would have appreciated the time one of my relative's popped a HUGE cyst on her face. I was standing right next to her at the time and leaned back because I knew it was going to blow. It did! Big time! All over the wall, mirror and light fixture. I'm still disgusted by the thought of it 10 years later. LOL In a revering kind of way...
some people did, some people didn't. It's their choice.

If this helps...I know people who know people (sm)

who can make people disappear.

Not really--I'd be lyin' if I said I never thought such things though!  ;-)

IME, people don't feel sorry for fat people either
They actually have less sympathy than they do for people who have substance abuse, IME.

At any rate, I do feel sorry for Britney but the safety of her children should be everyone's first priority, then her safety. It would seem to me that all these hangers-on she has are jeopardizing that safety. It's all just very sad.
Anyone have any good holiday dessert recipes? Looking for something good to take to a party. nm

What a good role model you are for good holiday spirit...wow nm

Awesome! Good service is good news.

Good Fences make good neighbors
You can get premade cedar fencing that comes in sections. You dig a post hole at the appropriate distance and fill with a bag of quick-crete. Alternatively, you could buy a used fence from a place that hauls away.

You could also get an electric fence, just hook to a battery and run the cord (for retraining purposes) it would not hurt your dogs.

I feel your pain. Roll up your sleeves and pray for some digging weather!
Glad everything is okay! nm

Wow...Glad your not my mom!

Life is way to short.  I had a stepmother like you.  Once I lost my mittens and it was freezing outside and I had to walk.  This wench actually got in her car, found me on my way to school in a snow storm and took the mismtached pair that I had found in a box.  She was an awful woman and I never saw her again after I was 16 and left the house.  I hope she has as miserable a life now as she deserves.  Don't be a petty witch with your children.  They will resent you in the end, may be even slash your perfect tires....

Glad to help!
I never really watched Frasier. I know, my loss from what I hear. Sounds very funny! Will have to start watching the reruns :)
glad i'm not you
Well aren't you just a ray of sunshine and full of compassion. It's not always about the almighty dollar. You get what you give in life and that includes taking care of ALL of God's creatures. You have no heart.
Glad I did it

I never went to the ER (I have to be almost dead before I go), so I suffered about 4 episodes before I went to the doctor.  I didn't know what it was.  Each attack got worse.  After the last one, which was horribly painful, I went to the doctor, and didn't hesitate to get surgery done.  I had a "rock garden", the tech called it.  It was PACKED with stones!  I had to wait almost 2 months.  I was so afraid to eat I lost 12 pounds in 2 weeks!  No exercise either!  THAT was easy! Having never been in a hospital before as a patient, nor even having had any kind of procedure, the anticipation of the surgery was MUCH worse than the procedure.  But I was a healthy person with no previous surgeries.  I had almost no pain after, and took it easy.  I went back to work after 3 days.  I don't know what the risk would be with your recent surgery.  It's something to talk out FULLY with your doctor.

You'll make the right decision.

I am soo glad it's
