Having second thoughts about my own post.
Perhaps a little quick on the draw to assume your husband is the one who is fabricating, though only you are in a position to evaluate any underlying agendas your sister(s) might have.

Case in point. My own sister and her husband did not approve of my decision (19 years ago) to marry someone who is 14 years my junior, though they would never tell me this to my face. They proceeded to launch a campaign to undermine the relationship by going behind my back (and his) to plant seeds of doubt in both of us about the other (BIL with him about me, sister with me about him AND vice versa). Before it was all said and done, they had resorted to countless outright lies. They dragged my friends (and his) AND my mother into it by spreading the same garbage so that they could pitch in and do their dirty work for them, once my husband and I realized what was going on.

I made every effort to get the four of us together for a confrontation over all the mess they had created (which I documented in my journal over a 2-year period !) but alas, the BIL and sister were never willing to do this. For me, that was all the answer I needed to have.

Sadly, this placed a permanent rift between us and them, NOT because of what they said, but the fact that they could never own up to having done it in the first place. My husband and I have been married 19 years in February. I have not spoken to either of them in almost 17 years because even after we were married they still were trying to break us up.

Go for the intervention. One of them will be anxious and willing to participate in order to gain your trust...the other, not so much....then draw your own conclusions.
Your post did not change my original thoughts
I read it and understood very well. This person on a break ran into 2 strangers who said they had walked from some distance, asking about catching a ride somewhere, asking her about a ride and she responds with asking a bunch of people she does not basically know about whether she did the right thing, they might have been angels in disguise. What is there not to understand about this? Sounds like a young girl asking for acceptance. A grown woman, with common sense, would not even second guess and then to return and make out a report at a shopping mall about someone asking for a ride was just a laugh. As in my original, she needs a guardian if she knows no better than this.
Mailing thank you cards to houses with nice Xmas lights, never heard of such a thing and I'm in

I never heard of giving yourself a house warming and expecting gifts! How about a nice open

aww, what a nice post and
There have been many awesome women leaders, not just of countries, but of organizations, companies, etc.

I believe a good, strong woman could do the job as well as or better than any man.

I do like Hilary. There is a lot of stuff in her past as well as present that impress me. She is incredibly eloquent and cannot believe all the coherent thoughts she can squeeze into one sentence.

Not sure yet who I'm voting for. Unfortunately, I like some of the guys that will be lost to the wayside in the coming months.

Should be an interesting race, nonetheless! :-)

Oh, and thanks for the kudos to single parents. I've been one for over 10 years. My last is in college :-)
Your post was very nice
I also have a Spaz who ducks everytime you try to pet him.  He's getting better as he gets older - he's a little over a year old now - but after having a cat (now deceased) who was such a cuddle bug, it's like a slap in the face.  I'll try to upload his picture.  His name is Tripp and this was when he was a baby.  He's now 14 pounds!
Thank you for your nice post.
x
nice post. I agree....
I dreaded my first from warnings of others, and went to my local hospital and I was like..."That's it?" LOL!!! i was even told to take a pain killer pre- since it would be so bad. Heavens. Wish i would have known how NOT bad it was! Then, I had implants and was told the same, and that was just as easy. Dont put it off. My friend has double mastectomy for BC on Tuesday AM...she is 37!!!!
I don't know, this post down below has me thinking. What are your thoughts, woman to woman. sm
If your spouse came to you and said he was having an affair, would you be more upset if it was with a male or female? For me, definitely a female!  If it were male then I would think that it had absolutely nothing to do with me and everything to do with him. I would be devastated if he were with another woman. Another poster below said she would be more upset if he were found with a male.  What about you?
I've heard of tops and also heard it is a good group.

I'll see her tomorrow and ask.
I'll post then and let you know.
Mine is tomorrow too!
Happy birthday to you!
Thank you, I'll have to try that tomorrow
She's finally asleep.
Definitely snow in Denver tomorrow. sm

If you want to go "out west" try the coast of California.  No snow there, but snow in Colorado.

Ditto! They are the best...I am going there tomorrow to see family...
just as excited about the food as I am about seeing the siblings!
Leaving for New York tomorrow sm
with my family.  Watch for us in the Today Show audience.  I will be the one with the laptop so I won't fall behind in my work.    Just Kidding.
Good luck to you tomorrow.
My Hubby had it several years ago, but back when they did the open kind. The first week was the worst for him, but, remember, that was open, so you should do fine. Just remember to take everything they tell you. Just a note: He lost well over 200 pounds and has kept almost all of it off now about 4-1/2 years later...so enjoy your new look!!!
me too i will be 30 tomorrow and still have mild acne
I've been on Depo for over 4 years, thought that would eventually help but oh no...
Alarmist indeed. We'll have to see tomorrow just how bad it sm
really is. I don't think anyone knows for sure. Could be like Thailand, who knows! Better safe than sorry! So yes, alarming indeed.
My fellow transcriptionists..for tomorrow (sm)
I challenge one of you to come up with something very interesting for us all to talk with...co-workers we are, shooting the breeze. I have gone out on a limb and told you about my strange sitings...now someone else come up with something tomorrow - please?  Hayseed?  Trose?  Some other interesting MT?  :-)
not alone, I'm working today and tomorrow

Working today and tomorrow
Talked to PS this morning. I work both days as regularly scheduled. Should be plenty of work on my accounts. I agree, more money, shouldn't complain. I work from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Already had my break today, watching the clock. I want a nap before tonight's festivities. Merry, Merry Christmas to all. Kiss and hug those nearest and dearest to you - for "they are precious in His sight."
Yep! Mine is pending now to go in tomorrow
I did e-file and direct deposit for my taxes and refund check, and my hubby's SSN ends in 03.
My mom and I are going to a craft show tomorrow...
and then my husband and I are taking the kids to Myrtle Beach in the middle of June...
My neighbor who comes home tomorrow after SM

a six-month tour of duty fighting to keep us all free!  He just got married before he left in November and everyone is doing little dances all over the place!!!   GOOD FOR YOU, John Michael.

thanks, it's scheduled to be deposited tomorrow
the only thing that worries me is this little statement:

You should receive a notice showing the amount of your payment. Please hold on to it because you will need it when you prepare your 2008 tax return.

Well that's certainly an interesting combo. I might try that tomorrow.
My homemade recipe calls for instant coffee, creamer, dry milk, sugar, and a tsp of vanilla, which was okay.  I saw the ingredients on Amazon.com and those were the ingredients except instead of vanilla it was cocoa powder, so I made another batch mixed with the first batch and put in 2 tsp of cocoa instead of the vanilla and it turned out really good.  Have to make more already.  I wish I could send you some of your CCDDP.
Going to New Orleans tomorrow for one of the big parades...
Anyone else ever been that can tell me what to for sure not leave at home (other than a porta-potty!)?  So excited, going to be really fun I'm sure!
Thanks everyone who responded - can't wait til tomorrow morning!

Yard sale tomorrow - how much change?
Hi, everybody, happy TGIF.

I'm having a yard sale tomorrow and hoping to raise a decent amount of $ to help buy a wheelchair accessible van for my DH. My question is this: How much change would you think I should have available and in what sorts of denominations? Most stuff will be under $10 but there will be a few higher priced items.

Thanks !

Shelby
We will have 31 people at his party tomorrow night and that sm
includes kids. I am making fried chicken and wings. Can anyone think of something cheap and large to feed all these people? haha  They say when you send out invites that half show. So far, we've rec'd RSVPs from everyone minus 2. If they come it will be closer to 40 people! I wasn't expecting this turn out. But, I am very relaxed.  Just need some food ideas! Thanks!
Thanks...I decided to make an appt tomorrow (sm)
wondering if I have some compression on my inferior vena cava when I lie down which is causing hypotension...not sure what is doing the compressing though - guess that's why I need a doctor, huh :-)

Today's children are tomorrow's leaders and
your future neighbors be closed-minded and intolerant of you? What if YOU had something about yourself that was [gasp!] 'different'? Would you want neighbors and community leaders who persecuted you and limited YOUR freedoms? Or would you want to be an equally-valued member of society?
Starting the first week in November, so tomorrow
there are two radio stations in town that plays Christmas music 24/7. I like Christmas music, but I think it's a little early to listen to it all day every day. Although, my daughter watches Christmas videos all year round.

What a nice response by a nice mom
What a gracious, well-adjusted response to a rude, obviously maladjusted poster--Hard to imagine someone with such an empty life and such a petty spirit that they would take the time to post criticism about a kid's feet! (Some people really have major issues, LOL!)
"After you leave or tomorrow, I have more guests coming & too tired to cook again, exhausted! nm

My thoughts

I hope you don't take this the wrong way but have you thought about having him tested for drugs?  I work in a psychiatric facility and have seen first hand what methamphetamine is doing to this country.  As a parent, I would certainly want to know if my child was doing drugs (hope this is not your case) but it's better to be safe than sorry.  I would check with your local hospital, police department, prison or even psychiatric ward to see if there are any types of programs that would give him a first hand look at what drugs can do to you.

I advise you to take the upper hand.  DO NOT let him threaten you in any way.  In my opinion, the children of today could use a few good smacks.  As parents, we should be allowed to discipline our children as we see fit (within reason).  This is how it all begins, believe me I've seen it at my job.  Parents literally have to put restraining orders on their children for fear of harm.  Again, I hope this is not your case.  I wish all the best.

Take care

My thoughts -
It really sounds like situational anxiety to me. You have had a lot of life stressors hit you at once. I went through very similar feelings as yours with also waking up in the middle of the night unable to sleep for hours on end and so jittery with my heart pounding during the day I thought I would trip over my own feet and/or have a heart attack. I chose to not use medication because I tend not to do well on many meds. What I did do was make SURE I left myself enough time each day to unwind. Nothing makes you feel worse than not enough sleep. Try a bedtime ritual of a bubble bath and hot tea. When you wake up in the middle of the night take huge, deep, relaxing breaths and force all thoughts out of your head. I call this self-soothing. It does work for me. Is there any way you can get a massage on a regular basis? You would be surprised at how much benefit that can have to your overall well-being. Remember, you are no good to anyone if you do not take care of yourself. Best of luck to you. :-)
My thoughts. sm
If you have Jesus in your heart, no person, no store, no nothing, can take God out of your life.
Thank you for your thoughts.
Yes, I did wonder if may be he is doing something else. He did tell me that he gets a buzz from this. I have no idea why. I will have to "grill him" for more answers.

I know all about the college life. They are totally, for the most part, on their own. No Mom or Dad around to watch what they are doing. Since we had a problem with alcohol over the summer, I am sure he has been drinking at college. I can only talk to him about the dangers of this, that it is illegal since the drinking age where I am is 21 and all the other stuff that we parents tell our kids. It is a matter of will they listen and take our advice. I will keep talking to him, because I love my son very much, but in the end he is an ADULT NOW, as he has told me, and I can only so do much. It is HIS LIFE. The discussions and talking will go on.
Here's my thoughts ...
If they have been making partial payments, apparently they do not have enough income to continue paying the full rent wherever they are living. They should take this as an "opportunity" to get into a cheaper-rent location. This will also buy them some time on collections for the $1900 past due amounts.

I know how hard it is to be in financial straits. Having made a full recovery and living responsibly now, I can say without doubt that poor credit scores are well deserved. It takes poor planning or complete lack of plus poor spending plus poor budgeting plus living beyond means and not ensuring one has adequate compensatory skills to get there. It is very painful no-excuses realization to make in owning up to personal financial disaster.

This could be a great chance for them to evaluate how they truly got into this situation, what they could have done to have prevented it, what they can do in the future to avoid it again, and start fresh.

Lower rent right now, a change in spending habits, build savings, and increase income -- this is the only way they will actually change this living situation permanently. Anything else is just a quick but expensive (not to mention waste of charitable resources if they cannot maintain their current rental) extension of the inevitable.

Wish I could give an easier suggestion for them. If it hurts enough, they'll make changes and avoid it in the future and that can be the silver lining in this very difficult circumstance.

My thoughts
They have heroes! Unfortunately, they are Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Nicole Ritchie, Eminen, all those gang rappers, etc. : (
My first thoughts on this -
I have never personally had a 40-year mortgage. Get a mortgage calculator and figure how much interest you will pay over the life of the loan for both the 30-and 40-year mortgages. That alone might help with your decision. Is this to allow you to buy more house or just to get into the market at all with lower payments? If you are in a very expensive market then it might be the way to go. However, I am not sure I would want to pay all that extra money to the bank for a longer loan. Just my two cents. Good luch to you. :-)
some thoughts

Historically a lot of islands (Australia for one) were populated by undesirables transported from other places to get rid of them.

I had begun to think that (with all the mention of the people being found dead) the island was the afterlife - remembering existentialist (was it Camus or Sartre - No Exit) theory that He**ll is other people.

Still mulling a lot of this over - Locke may really be dead - they have gotten rid of less people this season thus far.   More thoughts later.

my thoughts
Mobile homes are very nice nowadays compared to before -- and built better, but they just are not built as well as a home. It may work well for you, if you find the right place to put your mobile home, but you still have hassels of repairs, don't you? What about a reasonable condo or townhouse -- they're built better, safer in storms, and don't depreciate so much; and your condo association deals with some of those repairs, ie roof, and does the outside maintenance. If you go with the mobile home, might want to check out the used ones -- as they depreciate like a car, immediately!
Good luck.
