Cook hamburger with onions. Add cooked and cubed potatoes.( I cook in microwave and peel and cube when cooled down). That is basic recipe. Can also cook burger with bell peppers, celery, etc. I also use Worchestershire sauce and a touch of beef broth. Family eats is like it is or put bbq sauce, hot sauce, ketchup, etc on it.

Are you talking about the Hash Bash?
It used to be on April 1st, I think it originated in Ann Arbor. I know they used to do it at University of Michigan, but not sure if they still do. It was started in the 1960s.
