Okay, I haven't watched the show but ...
Since you made the comment, my curiosity won over and I hit the YouTube to see it. YIKES!

Looks like HE was taking advantage. Naughy naughty! Did you see her eyes go huge? And what about how hard she hit the floor on the drop! My back hurt watching it.

Then, the encore performance, she starts shaking her head wildly as if to say, "NO NO NO! Don't you DARE put your lips on me."

He deserved to get dumped by his girlfriend.
I watched the show last night and ....
IMHO Kate is the one that has changed drastically.  I used to watch the show all of the time, always enjoyed it and she always seemed so focused on her kids and her family but last night things seemed way different.  To me, she seemed more "Hollywood" and just completely different than Jon.  I commend her for fixing herself up but she just seems fake to me now and in my opinion, Jon does not seem to have changed at all.  Even at the end of the show when they were talking to her about the things that had been going on (without Jon there at this time), she started crying and made the comment to someone off camera that she did not want to mess up her make up.  Also during the interview it was all about her speaking engagements and her book tours, etc., etc., etc.  Again, that was just my take on it.
I just watched the interview on the Today Show SM
where the a hung jury concerning the boyfriend of a woman after he kicked her seven pouond cat, Norman to death.  No penalty at all.  He says the cat bit him and he just "reacted."   He kicked it repeatedly until he broke severa bones, broke his teeth and injured his lungs and left it to die.  This happened after a heated argument between the this man and his girlfriend.  Can you imagine showing your face on national television saying you were pleased with the outcome in this brutal outright case of animal abuse?   Over 200 pound man kicks a cat to death and he and his attorney are trying to justify this.  What a poor excuse for a human being.   He claims it was not done out of spite to punish his girlfriend.   You decide.
Well, the last time I watched the show (few years back) I sm
remember Phyllis as a conniving you-know-what! I'm surprised that ya'll like her. She must have changed A LOT! I loved him with Sharon...
I watched a show called The Falling Man last night on Discovery, SM
a show about one of the people who jumped from the World Trade Center. Very moving.
Glad I'm not the only girl who watches that show!
They are both hot, but Ami has that sort of bad guy with a good heart thing going for him, so I'd have to go with him.
Some news show I watched called those jars "sucker jars" sm
Because the places that have them out are places like Starbucks, pizza joints, the like.  What would you be tipping for, exactly, in the case where you order a coffee and the person hands it to you?  The same for the pick-up pizza places.  The person preparing your pizza gets an hourly wage.  I definitely do not tip and the show I saw this on said only suckers do.
maiden name
I worked for orthopaedic surgeons in North Carolina for about nine years.  She still went by her maiden name in the practice and everywhere else.
Gilmore Girls Fan
Well basically Rory had a meltdown because she got turned by the New York Times and Chicago Sun Times said they were not hiring. So she called back to the Providence Newspaper and the position was filled. So Loralei and Rory spent some time together so Rory could get cheered up. So anyway went to karaoke bar and Loralei got a little tipsy and Rory asked her to sing so she did and sang I will always love you and Luke walked in and smiled. He also started wearing the baseball cap that Loralei gave him in one of the earlier seasons for Christmas. The show ended with Logan showing up to ask Loralei's permission to ask Rory to marry him which I hope Rory says NO!! Also Lane and Zack, Zack got a lead guitarist gig and is going to go on tour for 2 months. Hope this helps you get your fix for the week ;-)
Happy Gilmore...
"How about a warm glass of some shut the h*** up."  "You're in my world now grandma."
Why is there any controversy about keeping a maiden name?
I've "kept" mine. I also added my husband's name. Anyone who knows me as my children's mother uses my husband's last name when they address me. It's not wrong, so I don't correct them. There's no need. But my driver's license has my first name, my maiden name, and then my husband's name, no hyphen. (Hyphenation is clumsy, IMO, and causes so many problems when people are trying to find your name on alpha lists.)
I loved my father very much, and I had a wonderful family growing up. I was named for my father and we were very close. It's part of who I am. I want to keep that name because he gave it to me, and a very special gift it was, too! I also love my husband very much, and we built a family together. That also is part of who I am. He offered me his name as a gift to me, as well. I was glad to accept it, as well. I proudly use both names.
Yet, I've run into quite a few people who get quite angry and upset over MY name. I have a friend who married a Texan. When he found out that I continue to use my maiden name, he turned to my husband and said, "And you let her do that?" My husband's reply: "She's my wife, not my child. It's not for me to give her a name. And if it's none of my business, then it's certainly none of YOUR business."
That's why I love him!
I am so glad i do not have to keep maiden in addition
to all these past names I have had, being on my 4th marriage now. Gosh, that would be 5 names in all, wouldn’t it?
Please tell me I'm not the only Gilmore Girls fan left and ...

...that someone can tell me what happened last night.  I wasn't home and my VCR is so hard to program, I didn't have time.

I will really miss the Gilmore Girls...

I guess I can watch the rest of American Idol, now.  But it's just not the same.

happy gilmore, all of me, and the JERK
x
east Alabama. I cannot tell you one person who has kept her maiden name sm
here in my town. Not one.
It is very common in the south to keep your maiden name as your middle name. But, I sm
was talking about not taking your husband's name at all.
Farewell, Gilmore Girls. Last night's episode was the last. nm
s
People I went to high school with still call me by my maiden
name, and we graduated 30+ years ago, and I call them by their's when talking about them with someone. What is the big deal??????
I missed the show but yesterday on her show
a couple of brothers came in and gave money to the family. Sorry I don't have more info, but like you, I do love the show. The brothers tried to give some of the credit to Oprah but she wouldn't take it. She really wanted the brothers to get all the credit.
Well, I watched it and what I got out of it
was that it was a very impressive and famous defense team, an unprepared and unknown prosecution team, and apparently a bunch of either not too bright or biased jurors. It was the joke of the century not the crime of the century as far as I am concerned. Nicole and Ron Goldman's blood was found in his car and his blood was at the scene! Case closed.
I watched every day
I felt he was guilty, still do.
i watched that also
on fox but another network reported that Entertainment Tonight actually made a sizable contribution to the church. would be interesting which one is actual the truth
Has anyone else watched this stuff?
I watched this on CNN last night and this guy had been planning this for a LONG time. Even the news station had to edit the video because of language and could not show all the pictures either, much less read anything of what he wrote. One newscaster did say, however, after reading over some of what this guy was spouting off in his video, was that the whole motive behind any of this was envy. Envy of what other people had, as far as possessions. He even idealized himself as a martyr, comparing himself to Jesus Christ. This guy had been stated as being an imminent danger to himself and others two years ago by a clinical psychologist! Now really, I seriously do not think any of his sick psychosocial mental fixations had anything to do with him being from korea! He was just a walking time bomb that exploded. JMO
I watched it today
not too bad, kind of leaves you with the idea that their lives will go on as usual with the normal changes etc. Of course it is just a television show ;-)
Watched it - YUK - Can you say Morticia?
nm
I thought the same but then I watched
and thought it was surprisingly good. It always amazes me to see how people with billions of dollars live. I can't even imagine living her life for one day. Must be nice. I say good for her for snagging a billionaire! I said snagging, not shagging. Well, that too. LOL
OMG! Watched on HBO and I was disturbed too. SM
I can't believe you posted this. I watched late last night on HBO. Five minutes into the movie you knew what was going to happen. The glowing reviews stated the fantasy part was wonderful, but found the fantasy as dark as the reality. What a grim story. I thought something was wrong with me, because everyone else I know who saw it said it was wonderful.
we watched movies
Chuck and Larry was one of them. We had shrimp cocktail and stuffed clams and those little hot dog pastries and mini quiches, and then at midnight champagne and Italian pastries. It was a nice night. Happy 2008 all.
I haven't watched it, but
I believe it's the real thing. I watch a lot of reality shows, but this one definitely didn't interest me.
I watched the Dog Whisperer
deal with this very situation, but, sorry, for the life of me I can't remember his solution, but they implemented it and it worked.  Maybe he has a website or a book?  Sorry no help, but Good Luck!
I haven't watched N/T yet
Unfortunately I've got a nasty cold and went to bed really early last night. I'm going to watch it this afternoon. I heard there were major cliffhangers.
I haven't watched it yet, but

isn't it to the performer's advantage not to win?  I know they're all under contract because they go on tour, but doesn't the winner have to pay AI a proceed of their net sales if they produce an album?  I might be wrong on that, but I think that's what I remember reading somewhere when the show first started.

If that is the case, David C. would have been very smart not to come out on top last night.  He definitely got great PR and exposure on the show, but now maybe can cut his own deal with AI getting any $$$.

As for the performers, I like them both but have been a DC fan up to this point.  Of course, I haven't watched it yet (thank goodness for DVR), but DA is just a little too young for me and I like more the rock music.

No, I never watched that movie (sm)
Maybe I'll have to go rent it now and see if I missed something...see what he's all about .
I watched that one with my husband
We couldn't stop laughing the whole show!! Now THAT's entertainment!
OMG -- i just watched the clip --

if my kids had seen that, I would have died.  seriously.

There was something on the net about it maybe being a prank by 1 of the comcast employees.  wonder if that's true.

I'm not sure $10 is enough to get the picture out of my head.  i let my kids stay up to watch the SB -- thank god we don't live in arizona.

I just watched all the episodes

Clara is so loveable. I wrote 3 recipes down and then tried to go to the website, but couldn't get on it.

She is a lesson for all of us; 93 and hopefully still going strong, even with eating what they had to make do with. Reminds me of our private depression in the 70s when we used to buy a 50 pound sack of potatos and make them every night different ways. Don't want to get back to that!

Thank you for posting that site.

I watched it on youtube, but it looks....
like she is lip-synching. And her voice sounded far away...rather strange. Maybe it's the youtube video that is off. But I am wondering if this is a publicity joke. Her voice, while she can definitely carry a tune, I didn't really find it extraordinary. I hope it's not fake, because she would be an inspiration to all.
I have watched enough court room TV
to know that if someone offers to store stuff for another person, they are obligated to make sure that it is properly taken care of. I remember one case where someone had taken the items that they offered to store and then put them in the hallway outside the unit when they got in an argument. Of course they were stolen! That is negligence. They offered to store them for her. They should have parked them with their own quads, as obviously they thought that was safer than near the street, geez.

I agree that it is sad to lose a relationship over $1700, but they were clearly negligent with her property. If her sister was any kind of a woman, she would have admitted it was her fault. I also think that if she would have just admitted it and said sorry that the OP would probably not have been as upset as she was. I have no doubt some of that resentment is due to the fact that they are taking no responsibility whatsoever.

more importantly, we watched him say he's gonna

and has done squat to find the killer.......ya know why?  2+2=4.

And yes - we were inundated on TV for 9 months with this bogus-outcomed trial.........

Watched all for the past 6 years now
but went to their show after year before last and really disappointed. I thought they would have more of the singers together, left before it was over but I love the show and wouldn’t miss for anything.
His performance was the ONLY part I watched!
DH watched the game by himself. He heard Prince from the kitchen. Since it was pouring down rain on them, too bad they couldn't turn the rain purple, LOL.
I just watched 2 great movies.
We rented Spitfire Grill and I caught Guarding Tess on cable. I've seen both before, but what great movies.

I just watched American Idol.
Girls:
I'm voting for Melinda Doolittle. I thought she was fabulous. I also liked Gina Glocksen and Sabrina Sloan and Lakisha Jones

I thought Leslie Hunt improved a lot over previous performances, but compared to some others I don't think she has much of a chance. I was not as wowed by either Jordin Sparks or Stephanie Edwards the way I have been before, but I suspect next week will be better. I liked Haley Scaranato's song choice because it's a fun song.

Boys (I saw this by DVR so I didn't get to vote)
Loved Chris Richardson. AJ Tabaldo suprised me with a great performance. Shows the importance of song choice. Chris Sligh was good, and then maybe Nick. I usually like Blake Lewis, but it didn't sound original to me. Sundance finally came back and did a decent job. I thought Phil Stacey did pretty well.

Sanjaya can go home IMO.
I watched it. Did you just watch Oprah, or...sm

Did you order the 'The Secret' DVD?  I've been thinking about ordering it.  What have you been doing that's fun?  Care to share?

I watched it on Oprah and then bought the CD

It's an interesting CD and I really like the theory behind it, which has been around forever if you think about it. What I didn't like was all the emphasis on material things, wealth, money, etc.  To me it seemed that was the focus of the CD whereas on the show the panel focused on many other types of issues besides just getting wealthy.

I haven't watched any of it on purpose...
but you can't help but hear drips and drabs without even trying.  I have a son in college and my daughter is a junior and starting to look at colleges.  I feel so bad for everyone involved, but I just can't watch it.
I have watched this entire thing...sm
and yes, it does distress me and I feel so badly for those involved. But I guess I am one that wants to know why...about just about everything, I guess. It is not an *entertainment* thing, but an understanding thing. On the news last evening, they had a psychologist explain the difference between a psychotic person and a psychopathic person. Of course, he fit the latter, and according to this psychologist (a woman), this person was a psychopath by the time he was eight years old. That is truly hard to imagine! All of this is truly hard to imagine, but it is a part of life, as much as any good things that happen. The newscaster was defending their posting of this kids diatribe on the news by saying that if it elevates people to the point of correcting the wrongs that let this thing happen, then they felt it was worth it to air it. However, they did admit that perhaps airing it over and over again was not a good thing. Once would have been sufficient, and they also said that *copy cats* were reported after EVERY newsy story...i.e. there were some suicides recently, and suddenly a lot of copy cats showed up, etc. it is not just with this tragedy, but with all tragedies that are depicted on the news, internet, or other media sources. It just cannot be avoided. We cannot go back into the fifteenth century and not be aware. We HAVE to be aware, so we can learn how to cope in today's society. Hiding our heads in the sand is not going to stop it. There are other ways to prevent these things from happening and it is up to all of us to find those ways. Unfortunately it takes something like this to motivate others into creating change.
Me, too. Have never watched any of those kinds of shows. nm
